need help on my Surname

Hi there,

Hopefully someone may be able to help me with the meaning of my surname MICHULITIS

pronounced mich U lie tis

Not sure if its Polish or Lithuanian any help would be much appreciated.

My great grandfather could not read or write when he arrived in UK early 1900. So i guess the name my be miss spelt!
