Travel / What is the ugliest city or town in Poland? [89]

Czestochowa apart from Jasna Gora is pretty ugly.

WaƂbrzych are pretty depressing too

Walbrzych is not bad,it has lot of potential, just severely neglected over the years.

WROCLAW - definitely, anyone with half a brain knows that it's Wroclaw, Poland's embarrassment of a city

Wroclaw is considered to be one of the nicest cities in Poland, strange choice:/
My choice would be either Bytom or Zabrze,as much as it pains me to say it all Upper Silesia is mostly grim and depressing.

Love / Polish women are the most beautiful in the world! [1718]

You do realise that she's half Polish?

It says her mother was born in Britain, grew up in France, but born to Polish parents,(Polish wikipedia) hence the name Jola,so I'd say she's more than 50% Polish.Pretty but never heard of her.

Love / Polish women are the most beautiful in the world! [1718]

You're so mean about British women, one of my favorite actress from "Quills" Amelia Warner is British and she is beyond beautiful.

Have you seen Rachel Weisz,Kate Beckinsale,Cheryl Cole,Elizabeth Hurley,Keira KnightleyHelena Bonham Carter, you can't tell me those English women are not attractive,I would say they're way more attractive than Polish actresses or singers.

About Polish women, sure lots of pretty ones, but I don't know what's worst horse-face overweight British girls or Polskie solary and blachary:/

I don't agree about the British women, some of the most beautiful women come from England, plus British women have the best skin.
And like the old saying says beauty is in the eye of the beholder .

Life / Television in Poland - embarrassingly bad? [44]

You're welcome.I'm exposed to American TV,and it's not that great either, way too much reality shows, ever heard of Kardashians:)

I don't know if you into tv series but Czas Honoru is nice,I also really enjoyed Rewers,Dom Zly,Roza,Pregi,Rozyczka,Mala Moskwa.Dzien Swira it's a must, one of the best Polish comedy(dark comedy) that came out lately.

Life / Television in Poland - embarrassingly bad? [44]

TVP Kultura is pretty good.I don't like to watch Polish news, the announcers are way too serious and stiff. As for the actors, can't say I agree, have you seen any movie with Marcin Dorocinski,Michal Zebrowski,Mateusz Damiecki,Artur Zmijewski,Jan Wieczorkowski, that's from top of my head, but I know there are plenty more good male actors in PL.

Life / Why are Poles always so miserable? Why do they never smile? [512]

Same here, love the country, hate the polish mentality,it doesn't really cost that much to smile once in a while, say hello to your neighbor, not to mention some people are just plain rude.Is it so hard to say thank you while someone holds the door for you,or I'm sorry if you bump into somebody, the constant complaining and distrust get on my nervers the most.I'm not living in Poland but visit quite often and that's the main thing that bother me the most about polish society. My hubby always jokes that polish people have"stone faces",but he agrees once they get to know you they're very friendly.Could it be "post communist mentality",something in our DNA,our tragic history, who knows,I'll hope it will change for the better with the younger generation.
