Language / About Byki - how to use free lists? [12]

I hope that this post is not annoying or irrelevant.

I downloaded the free version of Byki. But I want to use some of the free lists that they offer from the Download Centre. But I do not know how; when I press "Download", all I get is a setup file for what looks like another copy of Byki, rather than any lists =( And I am quite sure that one is not allowed to have multiple copies of Byki...

Does anyone know what I am talking about and could anyone help? I would be most grateful.

Food / How many Poles are vegetarians? [52]

do you eat fish, eggs, or cheese? soy milk sounds so natural i can barely stand it.. yum. :(

No, I don't eat fish, eggs, or cheese, even though ice cream might taste very nice. This is what a vegan is--he/she does not eat animals or products which come from animals. I would be defeating my purpose (adhering to my moral beliefs) if I ate any of those things.

I'm not trying to turn any of the carnivores here into vegans. My hope was basically that I could discuss a bit of vegan Polish cuisine with a vegan. =(

I wonder why non-vegans are often not very gracious at all to vegans?

The reason I am a vegan, is because of moral reasons...as Krzysztof said, it is barbaric. I could say a lot more...

Anyway, although of course many vegans eat unhealthy food, the healthiest people are vegans and they most certainly are not weak and withering away. I don't even want things that taste like dead animals, but soy milk is very nice. I have to go now but I would like to keep this thread active and I would love to hear more from Krzysztof and from other vegans as well.

And of course you can be Polish and vegan. Look in my heart and you will see Poland in there =) and two of my dearest friends, Polish, are vegans.

Merged: Vegetarianism and Healthy Foods in Poland

How many vegans/vegetarians are there in Poland? Are there many shops which sell "health food" (without preservatives and white sugar and other such things.)

Are there vegan/vegetarian versions of Polish cuisine? =)

You are very nice.

I can pronouce some Polish but I cannot understand at all =( But I have trouble with wrds like przyjaciolka i pszczola and words in which the consonants become frikative in front of other consonants, etc. Maybe I don't even know what I am talking about. I don't have a good grammar book. I just taught myself with very little...

I might have mispelled frikative but I am too lazy to look it up at the moment, even though I don't like to spell incorrectly.

Sometimes I wish I could write in Polish on here =(

What is Skype?

Thank you for these. I cannot understand Polish when it is spoken, nor can I speak it properly.

If you ever should have time and should wish to do so, could you give some examples of whole sentences which would stress the pronunciation of words which change pronunciation according to the combinations of letters by which they are followed? I probably haven't explained clearly, but I think it is something akin to French elision...though not exactly, probably.
