All very good questions. It leaves me scratching my head. I don't quite know what America or Europe is to gain from this or exactly what are goals are. There is no satisfactory answer. It could be as cynical as feeding the MICC and/or a desire to see Russia completely defeated and this is the chance. I have no idea.

One thing that does make sense to me is that we are a culture in decline. The decades of bemoaning and exaggerating all the "evils" of our past, the rejection of our Judeo-Christian foundation that has lead us toward the tyranny of relativism, the attacks on our traditions and institutions, etc. have resulted in mass confusion and poor leadership.


There's something synonymous about the two, IMO, as well. We were able to take the great liberal thoughts of Western culture and bring them to fruition on a mass scale--as a result we became to keeper of the liberal order frame. Too bad we've spent that last 60-70 years pi$$ing on that flame.


Maybe not all...but, in the case of yours truly, I humbly agree.

I disagree. Motives and strategic aims are all there. I believe Putin's aim is completely strategic: he wants a ring of influence-a safety buffer-around Russia. His motivations are justifiable from his perspective: he doesn't want Russian territory to touch up against NATO. Makes complete strategic sense and is a sensible motive.

Zelensky recently has proposed to allow jailed convicts to serve.

All the reports from a variety of sources indicate that Ukraine is having a major issue with getting men to fight.

The average age of a Uke soldier is early-40's and he hasn't been cycled out for R&R for over 2 years.

Is there a point where we in the West should demand Ukraine to revise its goal of pushing Russia completely out?

Again, you approach this whole topic from a jaundiced radical feminist point-of-view. We would first have to deconstruct that POV to have a real and honest conversation. And, as you can see by my paltry number if posts in PF, I don't spend that kind if time on PF.

But, to put it briefly, men like me din't view women as chattel, but as complementary partners. We see that by nature, men and women have differences. But, these differences complement each other-they din't compete against each ither. We each have our distinct roles-these roles have some overlap, to be sure. I don't view my wife as property but a unified partner.

The problem with feminism is that it springs not from a complementarian approach to the sexes, but a competitive and divisive approach. It boxes masculinity into a non-masculine brutishness.

Because we are not naturally suited the type of nurturing young people need at that age-we simply don't have the same level of nurturing genius women have. Nature has a place in all this.

How's that worse? Every teacher I know say that those are the great grades to teach. Most of the students aren't trouble, the rewards of seeing new learners learn to read and such are great.

Nature has it that women are just a helluvalot better at nurturing than men. Those younger grades are still in need of the nurturing a woman is better at giving.

Especially for boys. By time they hit 11 (probably that's even too old) they should have men (not effeminized twats who have XY chromosomes) as a majority teaching them.


Why were they suffering? Could it be because they didn't have the intellectual skills or interest and were being forced to attend what they perceived as a torture chamber?

Students don't need to adapt, the schools and curriculum do the adapting for them. Ergo, they aren't challenged to reach their fullest potential because their schooling has been adapted to the lower level student.

One clarification regarding the feminization of teaching. Feminized teaching has its place and is important in the primary grades. Probably even preferable in 4th and 5th grades.

Same question can be asked of the west. Look at the pro-Hamas/anti-Israel/anti-West protest going on throughout the West right now. Not to mention Europe's fighting capacity is lagging and the US military is not at peak operational fitness. WWIII would be a helluvalot different than I and II.

Your observations are the same as mine. Standards have been drastically lowered in the name of self-esteem...or to ensure enrollment doesn't tank.

There's also the cultural aspect. Disruptive crass and self-centered behaviors are tolerated, the quashing of viewpoints other than what is popular, catering to abnormalities, etc.

In grade schools and high schools the curricula are weak or tortuous. I have hope, as we are seeing more and more schools with classical curriculums popping up.

But, lest us not forget that Russian aggression opened the meat grinder in the first place. While I may have a certain intellectual empathy for Russian concerns of Ukraine chumming up with the West, there is no moral justification for having opened up the meat grinder.

If there was any indication that the goal was for Ukraine to force Russia to the negotiation table with the aim to get realistic concessions from both sides , I'd be all for arming Ukraine to the teeth. But, that's not happening...ao the meat grinder continues to grind and grind.

Is anyone in Europe talking about the problems Ukraine is having with finding able-bodied soldiers?

Just recently Ukraine's desire to call up 500,000 men has been drastically reduced. Some analysts believe Ukraine would have trouble fielding an additional 50,000.

Zelensky has even gone as far as proposing the allowance of convicts and criminals. I recall when Russia did that, PF lambasted Putin and called Russia desperate.

Is the mood changing in Europe regarding goals in Ukraine? Is the prevailing position to drive out Russia from all of Ukraine? Or has that changed in light of Ukraine being meat grinder that appears desperate to find men to fight for the cause of a Russia-free Ukraine?
