Genealogy / Chyrow, Dobromil, Pietnice, Rosenberg - Any info on Mazur/Can Lineages [11]

OH wow that would be great I would love to see some photos of Chyrow now Kyriv, Ukraine. If you know the link for the youtube video that would be great as well. What are your interests or ties to Chyrow if you odn't mind my asking?

Polonius thanks for that information. My family from Germany mentioned that my grandmother Katherine's maiden name is Zahn, but my grandmother, her only living child said that it is Can and all the documents I had found have Can listed as her maiden name. I wonder if she changed it when the family moved to Germany during WWII.

Do you have any information on the surname Hun. She had her mother listed as Ann Hun she died in Przemysl

Also, my great grandfather was married to Ann Sirochman, but earlier in the church documents it was spelled Syrochman, then later around 1870's Sirochman.

Genealogy / Chyrow, Dobromil, Pietnice, Rosenberg - Any info on Mazur/Can Lineages [11]

I am researching information on my grandmother's side of the family. Her father was born in Chyrow, Galicia now part of Ukraine His name was Nicholaus Mazur. Her mother's name was Katharina Can and she was born in Dobromil, Galicia now part of Ukraine. They met and settled in the village of Pietnice, Galicia and during the war left their families and moved to Germany.

I am looking for any information on any of these villages. Historical stories, black and white photos, or new photos, and also if there might be any people in these areas with the Mazur or Can surname.

Katharina Can had a twin brother, and he either died or was seperated from her at birth. She was then adopted by a German family. I would like to trace any orphanage information or adotion information from Dobromil during the time of her birth in 1895. I know it's a long shot, but any information on these small villages helps as there is not much information about them online.

I have traced some of the family of Nicholaus Mazur in Chyrow, Galicia prior to 1900, it looks like he had a very large family and I would hope to find more information on them and connect with any possible surviving members.

If you have any questions for me to answer regarding any of the information above please ask and I will try my best to answer.
