Law / Setting up small business in Poland? [191]

I am from California. I am in krakow now, and started a small business with some translation help from friends, but my business is in IT.

Ok just read this about your stay and i'd say you're screwed. Imagine if I went to America and stayed for 2 years what would that make me. AN ILLEGAL ALIEN!! They would kick my ass into jail for 6 months and then put me on the first plane out. You are here illegally and a business won't help you. Or maybe I can just go to the US and set up a business and they'll let me stay (you really can't be serious) OH maybe us Euro country folk are easier on Americans than they are on us. Did that sound a tad to harsh. I stayed in America 2 days longer than my 90 day visa and they won't let me back in now. Good luck at the boarder when you're leaving.

Travel / Best way to get from Lodz to Warsaw? [48]

Oh yes the taxi con works like this. There are courier taxi's and regular taxi's. Courier taxi's can charge you a fortune so ask the cost of the trip before you get in. I made that mistake so be careful.

Travel / Best way to get from Lodz to Warsaw? [48]

People here in Poland are very helpful and most of the young people speak a little English. I have been living in Poland for 5 years and still don't speak Polish so it's worked out for me. Public transport is very good as you'll see and all the hotel have someone who speaks enough English to get you sorted. Lodz is a big town and you shouldn't have many problems getting around. I came from Vancouver to Poland and settled in from the get go.

I'm off the London on the 1st of Feb if you need a ride there :))

It is also very safe in Poland and you may be surprised just how friendly people are here. They are some of the nicest people I have met in any country world-wide!!

Good luck and have fun in Poland.
