Love / Polish women are the most beautiful in the world! [1718]

I think you get more friends for boobs than face, but I'll have to check the rules again...

...plus, 'boobbook' just sounds so crass y'know? (And it sounds like an Owl.)

UK, Ireland / Polish and East European prostitutes in the UK [240]

Why are women from Slavic-speaking countries more likely to be sluts/prostitutes?

Because they're broke and morally ambiguous...?

Because they're good at it silly! :D

Love / How do Polish men feel about gender equality? [780]

But you know what Zimmy... through your rants about feminists, you're not actually saying anything credible about women per se.... I mean it's like me judging all men on the basis of what Republicans think seeing as it is a party of people (traditionally and predominantly male) who seek to put forward their own views about who should benefit through governmental action, and put over the case that their views hold more legitimacy than some other factional group.

Not all women who benefit from the work done by feminist groups are feminists, nor can you treat them as such. If I got a job that you thought you were more *qualified* to do, that doesn't mean I wasn't better for the job. There are plenty of other criteria now to fulfill a role suitably for many types of work, as I'm sure you are aware. ;)

Just because an indigenous person gets a job that I'm more qualified to do doesn't mean that a company isn't living up to other policies of equity and social justice, that are equally important in this day and age and equally relevant as just having another over educated white collar male in the work force... In fact your prejudice views would be wisely avoided in any workplace. God forbid you start mouthing off in the lunchroom and bring about a legal case for your employer.

You may just be too hot to handle.

I guess what I'm saying Zimmy is that there are finally measures in place to make the world a little less stratified and a little more equitable across the board for *all* minority groups (and, yes, this includes women). What you fail to see is that YOU will be left out in the cold if you don't somehow equate this with what is fair, what is reasonable, and what is practically possible even though *you* may have all the degrees daddy could ever buy you, but the views of a sinking ship. It won't be enough anymore. So don't waste your f*cking time trying to bring OUR opinions back into the dark ages... it just ain't going to happen buddy.

Buddy? Can I call you buddy? ;)

It's more than obvious that many here have little knowledge of the real intentions of professional feminism. I recommend the following reading materials:

So we can hate a little more...?
You're holding onto thoughts that make you feel bad about others... I don't get that?

A book doesn't change the way you gravitate towards the opposite sex (people). Your attitude does.
And by your nature you're actually doing a lot to promote feminism here... more than anyone else in fact.

Just try to model women on your mother... I'm sure even she'd appreciate that.

This thread deals with gender equality but you don't like the responses from the men who have had enough of the constant male-bashing these past four decades..

You have over intellectualised the only romantic love you're ever going to get. I don't get it? Turn the television off, close the books, and go out and fall in love in that nubile Spring air Zimmy...

If there was a real third sex than men would gravitate toward it. It would have to be a nicer one .....

Just remember I love you Zimmy.. in that nurturing, caring and ultra feminine way... :)

Love / How do Polish men feel about gender equality? [780]

Equality is an interesting concept... but if it can only be equated by money, then it is inherently flawed and generically useless anyway... because at the end of the day household income is usually shared by both sexes...

In other words I'd say both sexes do work to make life easier for the other.

''Rights" can only be expressed in legislative terms... By their definition they are not *afforded* by men per se, nor earned... (which is the interpretation that *really* irks some women..) but are simply *recognised* by law where they may not have been before... being implemented in all manners within the context of policy and procedure thereafter... (embedded at the macro levels of society).

But then again we can't chop up time and pretend history doesn't matter either... ''Women's Rights'' *have* lagged behind that of Men's, if only because Men's rights have somehow been assumed against that of Women's... (And of course Women do have somewhat different issues which need addressing in this way compared to Men...). But they are not inherently *Women's rights*... they are simply Rights in recognition of the unique requirements of Women (and Mothers) which need to be addressed through fair and judicial means...

But the *Battle of the sexes* which is always raging (in spite of the Women's movement!) makes this all the more complicated... Men see these *Rights* as corresponding to a perceived diminishing of sovereignty, or as being *imposed* on *them* in some way... (on their dominion...)

*Or* they laugh in the face of Women's Rights because they see them as a perverse twist of Equality! Which now recognises Women in society as having greater access to liberties than Men. Tricky...

And although Rights are a concept of choice... it's true that they shouldn't be afforded to one gender over another... (but this is what happened throughout history so we need to deal with that!)

But by the same token, we need to move away from this paradigm whereby *choice* (as afforded to certain individuals in society when for a good reason...) over others, is somehow tantamount to the reduction of choice for others in society... (a threat).

It simply does not always imply that.

All this is silly but it makes the definition of *Equality* even more difficult to extract...

However I do believe that the predominant *domestic* debate over choice (fairness of choice in realtionships/ at home) is down to the behaviours of the reasoned human beings involved... (who are in most cases more reflexive and adaptable than the laws and policies in society to which they are accountable...)

But *movements*, as they are recognised by history, are being pushed usually when there is none of this behavioural buffer... when the end user has found no other way to gain what they consider fair in the situational context which they are in... and so seeks retribution through judicial means...

So all this is an issue of the breakdown of decency between people... that requires *Rights* to be established in the first place...

I guess the Universe has a way of *righting* itself! :))

The fact that this generic idea of *fair* is somewhat skewed and usually completely subjective by nature doesn't help...

I can't sleep!

Hi Seanus. Nice to ''see'' you indeed... :)

No, I don't think Polish people are rude...

Exactly. That's the reason you often see a beautiful woman with a pretty average man or a handsome man with a very average girl. They figured it out. Most gorgeous looking couples split. Hollywood comes to mind.

I'd rather average looks but profound beauty... ;P

Cheer up NomadaNet. You are too pessimistic, and stop thinking about nukes. Doom and gloom attitude is depressing. Neither you or I can stop the future or some deranged, power hungry idiot to press the button.

Just change the U to I and you have 'Nikes' in every sentence... not so bad... tehe.

Life / Rate Poland (Life Quality / Culture and People / Food): 1-10! [232]

Have any of you ever see a trailer inside? They can be amazingly huge and comfortable, unlike the tiny apartment in blocks.

I used to live in one in England... All's I can say is that I *accommodated* to its size...

But I guess, like everything in the States, big is beautiful, and plentiful is the master of men's destinies... ;)

yep, in the big cities for sure but no chance in the rest of the states.

Horseback? ;D

It's the same with the speed limit on the German autobahns, the huge car companies have their hands on it there too and that's why the Germans still enjoy to drive as fast as their cars can go (not everywhere though).

I remember doing over 240km/hr in a convertible Merc going along the old Castle Road with my Dad and his nutter friend Albert from Lubeck... I think we got there an hour later! ;)

An interesting look at just how invasive the motoring lobby has been in curbing the rights of ordinary citizens to CHOOSE between car ownership or an alternative... (remove the option?)

It depends. I personally don't see it that way. At least not in the US.

Well in terms of resource use, use of space and in many cases, utilisation of time... public transport wins hands down (in cities and medium sized towns...)

It's just what the government invests its money and policies towards...

In many ways, up and developing countries today know this and major cities of the future will be learning from the mistakes of more car dependent *super highway cities* by developing alternative infrastructure to accommodate for an increased use of mass transit in its stead... (high speed trains and such)

And of course the motoring industry needs to compliment this by designing more efficient cars over luxury vehicles... ;)

Life / Rate Poland (Life Quality / Culture and People / Food): 1-10! [232]

I personally find even more disgusting than trailer parks

What's disgusting about the way people live...?

it's because most of us have at least 2 cars (family) and the mass transit wouldn't be lucrative here at all.

No it's because the motoring lobby bought it all out and brought it into disrepair... Ain't nothing shameful about a good public transit system. MUCH more efficient than private motoring. And have you been to L.A lately??

I'm here to chat with *people*, and I don't give a sh1t where they're from... and I don't assume that national identity is more than just a front anyway...

What makes it interesting is the diversity of cultures and inputs... I wouldn't be here otherwise...

why did you come to a polish forum ashley?

Is there a rule about not praising perceived Polishness every damn day...?! Step off and ignore my comment if it doesn't please you... or is it making you think...?

you can do that outside this forum.. this is a POLISH FORUM>>>>>>>

There is nothing inherently Polish about an internet forum... I mean, I don't smell the Kielbasa burning and I certainly don't detect a lot of Polish language here... So I'll stay if you don't mind... (and make believe I'm Polish too.) It's fun!

Hey there's a lot of information exchange that goes on here without my interference...! As I said, I have a different view on nationalism.. no, on genetic nationalism... I think it's bullshit! On the basis that genes don't tie you to a piece of dirt... your inherent romanticism does, if not your house, language or job...

A border is a political construct... but at *least* you want to be living within those borders... ;)

I have no interest in my Polish ancestry beyond a perverse interest... I'm more into how we're evolving as a species and relating to each other as one race...

Yep

Yep

Yep

Oh and by the way... HUMANS are inbreeds... especially when they call themselves from one particular tribe such as Slavs.

Prove my point sister.

I have Polish heritage too... is it relevant? Only in so much as that is where my grandmother's mother gave birth to her. I find it hard enough comprehending and belonging to my *own* country in this *particular* century... why would I want to complicate it by trying to belong to something I'm not from a bygone era...? (Looking for a sense of identity..?)

We're ALL related... I just hate this exclusion on the basis that you're not from glorious Slavonia!

And interesting the number of people who want to belong to Poland's past but not its future...

When does the umbilical cord get cut?

ALL history is important... and I hate to say it, but it really has nothing to do with you beyond your heightened and irrational interest based on the people you are related to who passed through there on the long journey known as *the migration of man...*

I mean why stop in Poland? Why not trace your roots right back to Africa...?
Oh no wait, don't answer...
