Travel / Ideal amount of PLN for a week holiday (Krakow, Warsaw, Salt Mines, Auschwitz, etc) [9]

You should be ok with 2k, but it really depends on what else you're planning on doing. Are you renting a car? Shopping? Group tours/trips? Do you like to spend lavishly? :)Hard to say, everyone is different. It's easy to spend money!

Not renting a car. Planning on trip to Warsaw (train), Auschwitz and Salt Mines as well as any other tours of the city, plus some sightseeing. Oh, and a purchase or two from the Hard Rock Cafe!!

We do spend, but not too lavishly...decent food and drink throughout.

Travel / Ideal amount of PLN for a week holiday (Krakow, Warsaw, Salt Mines, Auschwitz, etc) [9]

Travelling to Krakow for a week in June. Planning on visiting the Salt Mines, Auschwitz etc and also a quick trip to/from Warsaw.

Got about 2000PLN put by for it. Flights and hotel all paid. Wonder if thats enough for a comfortable time in Poland or should I take more with me? Don't want to exchange too much into PLN in case I have a lot to change back to UK money cos you lose out a bit?

Travel / Whats the cheapest way to get around Poland... train or bus? [25]

Anyone know rough prices and times for travel from Krakow to Warsaw? Is it doable in a day, ie leave Krakow very early morning and travel back at night? I think I read somewhere it takes about 2.5 hours.

Are there any other good daytrips from Krakow via train?

Sorry to ask so many questions but going to Krakow for a break in June but trying to price travel to Warsaw (return) while we're there, be cool to visit both.

Was also thinking of flying to Italy for a day or two but seems very expensive.

Thanks :o)

Life / Best Pay as you go company in Poland? [10]

Travelling over next year, can anyone recommend a cheap solution to calling back to the UK?

I'm on O2 and it costs a flat rate of 0.35 GBP per min (1. 4zl ish) but my phone is locked to o2 so theres no way i can stick a polish pay/go sim into my phone.

What would be the cost of a cheap polish pay/go phone with sim card and the rough cost of a call (per min) back to the UK?

Any advice (except not calling back to UK) greatly appreciated.
