Genealogy / ARE THERE ANY RECORDS SHOWING IMMIGRANTS LEAVING USA BEGINNING 20THC [9]

From what I understand a large proportion of the great immigration before WW I did go back. My great grandfather went back. Many men went to work in the U.S. to make money and come back to buy land when the Austrians allowed it in Galicia. I don't know of any records other than trying to find ship registries going the other way.

USA, Canada / Moving to Portland, OR [3]

I would stay away from Portland proper.... you can live in a nicer place, cheaper rent and closer to nature, yet not far from downtown. Check out Clackamas, Damascus, Oregon City, Canby. Better for kids there too. This side of town has many more Eastern Europeans as well, Poles, Russians and Ukrainians. There are several excellent food stores, Azov and Good Neighbor which stock fresh Polish kielbasas and other Polish foods as well.
