Genealogy / Polish looks? [1462]

I know somebody that had a Pandorian box..but best not go into that...!

That reminded me of a quote from Notting Hill - "I knew a girl at school called Pandora. Never got to see her box, though", it's something that just stuck with me :D

@king polkagamon - I actually have a small-ish nose, you can't see it well in this picture, it kinda looks bigger than it is, and the interesting part is that I have my mother's mouth, eyes and forehead and she is 1/2 Polish, 1/2 Serbian, but my grandmother (100% Polish) had the same chin and mouth as my mom and I do ... so there's nothing Greek about that :)

Life / Food deliveries in Poland [18]

I'm not from Poland, but DAMN I would like to have an option to order some kisiel. Right now I have to order it from Estonia (my brother lives there and they have it) and you can't buy it here in Serbia. My mom made it for us when we were kids, but now we don't go to Poland so often. Such a simple but delicious thing, that kisiel :)

Wow I can always see the beauty in mixing Polish blood with Mediterranean blood in women. :-)

Thank you, George :)

@Allison - I have the same problem too, even though people wouldn't say so, because I have dark hair, but my skin is white like sour cream, with pink undertones, so going to the beach is always like "burn, baby, burn" :D My grandmother had the same problem, although she was ash-blond, baby blue eyed Polish woman, and I'm, apparently, not ;) Somebody here said that Mediterranean people (e.g. Greeks or Turks) have olive or darker skin, my Greek ancestors were light-skinned with green or kinda grey eyes, with brown hair. I looked at some old photographs, even from the 19th century, no "Greek noses" or dark skinned people (although I wouldn't mind, I just find it interesting) ;) Anyway, because most of my genes are Slavic, I suppose I couldn't look much different than Slavic people usually look, except I'm very tall, but I can thank my ancestors from Hercegovina and Montenego for that ;)

It's me again, I have an interesting question about epicanthic folds, which are most common among people of North Asian, Central Asian, East Asian and Southeast Asian descent, but are also found in a minority of Europeans having no obvious Asian background, especially in eastern Europe and across northern Europe in areas such as Scandinavia and Poland. So, how common epicanthic folds are when it comes to Polish people? I certainly have them, just like everyone else in my family (my mother is Polish, my father Serbian but has them too). My nephew (my brother's son), who is half Estonian, has them and looks adorable with his light blond hair and baby blue eyes that seem almost Japanese :)

I think you are still too young to see, your face can change a lot in the next few years; right now, I can say that you could pass as any of these nationalities you've mentioned.

It is an interesting thing, that Slavic people are generally considered tall, I think that I didn't stand a chance, because my ancestors come from Montenegro and Hercegovina, where people are generally considered very tall. I'm not sure about my family from Poland, they are of average height. It kinda fascinates me how people usually think I'm from Russia, because I don't look Russian to myself, that is why I asked you all here, but I'm guessing it's the cheekbones and eyes maybe...

Bratwurst Boy

Hm, I can't decide by looking at these pictures, I'm 1/4 Polish, 1/4 Greek and 1/2 Serbian, but half of my family has blonde hair and blue eyes, and the other half brown hair and green/hazel eyes - as do I. I have fair skin and I am quite tall (183cm), but that is a dominant trade in my family :)

Hello :) I've been reading this thread and I find it very interesting, so I would like you to tell me do I look Polish or if not, what do you think I come from, because people are telling me that I look the certain way... So, what do you think? :)
