USA, Canada / What do the Poles hate and love about the U.S.? [170]

Haha interesting comments - thank you for the well placed insults. If I was more intelligent I might have been able to understand them.

America isn't much different from anywhere else. There are huge opportunities in America!

In a poll by NBC, 80% of those surveyed believe that 911 needs to be further investigated.
This isn't a thread for such a discussion.

Flock to America. Although it is a democracy there are many issues that you cannot protest without being arrested.

Nonetheless it is better than most places!

We all know that the USA is a police state.

It is controlled by a few.

They are willing to murder their citizens to start war.

Their constitution means nothing.

Their 'left' and 'right' political parties will argue endlessly over issues that are important to the citizens, yet pass bills that steal the peoples freedom faster than a 12.4 litre American Mustang running the 1/4 mile.

Life / Do expats living in Poland speak Polish? [233]

I have studied polish for just 2 days and can speak it fluently.

HA! not.. :P

I am interested in learning this nightmarish insanely difficult language... it can't be that bad!

Food / Polish culinary dislikes [83]

The best bbq is over a camp fire.

BBQ in Canada can be on a gas grill, charcoal, or wood.

Is there plenty of sushi in Poland?

The olympics are a massive joke. The only thing that I can hope for is cheap accomodation in Whistler after the olympics because they are building so many new places.

Whistler is absolutely amazing! Words can't describe it's incredible nature. ;)

Ah excellent, a girl, and a Canadian!

How's the language barrier in Poland/Warsaw/Any Major City?

HAHA funny guy Bzib.

Tickets were $600 for opening ceremonies... that's not even a good seat!

Hockey tickets are $1400 +

Plus food, accomodation, drinks, travel.

Olympics are for the very rich. (prices are in Canadian dollars)

Hey everyone.

I've been reading these forums for the last couple days and have enjoyed my time reading your banter.

I am very excited to come to Poland. I never thought that I would ever be going to Warsaw.

I once read 'Ender's Game' a book by Orson Scott Card, and in that book there was a thing called the 'Warsaw Pact.' I was very confident that I would never see a city by that name. It always brings a smile to my face.

Anyways about myself. I live in a small town called Campbell River where about 30 000 people live. It is located on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

I have never lived in a city. The tallest building in my town is 6 stories. I live 30 seconds to the ocean, 15 minutes to the lakes (there are countless lakes) and 30 minutes to the mountains!

I am studying business. My college offers an exchange scholarship that I could not say no to!!! I am very excited to come to Poland and live like a king ;) hahha.

Definitely looking forward to the food. My goal is to gain 20-30 pounds while I'm there. Hahah should be easy!

Definitely looking forward to Snowboarding the Tatras.

Definitely looking forward to plenty of Polish ladies!

It is interesting to get myself into the mind frame that I pretty much live in Poland now... I'll be there in less than two weeks.

See you all very soon!!!!

If you have any questions about British Columbia I can answer any that you have. If you are planning to come to North America then BC is the only place you should visit! I may be biased but it is beautiful here and there is tons of space.
