Language / Z in usage with a verb... [20]

Is it only when distinguishing between perfect and imperfect that a verb is modified at its beginning? If this is true that would make it a lot easier to know the base word and when I hear the beginning of it modified I can just assume it to be the perfect form?

Language / Z in usage with a verb... [20]

I was wondering what was the purpose of adding a 'z' to the beginning of a verb?

The only example I can think of: "robić" and I have seen it spelled as zrobić. What exactly does this do to the meaning of the word?

Language / twoj wasz [12]

I'm still sticking with "y'all". If 'can not' becomes can't and will not becomes won't... why can't 'you all' become y'all :) Really I'm sticking with it because that is what I was raised saying, not because I think it is right =P

Language / Usage rules of ł in the Polish language [30]

Additionally, dark /l/ is also commonly used in American English, pretty much all the time I think.

You must be right on that, I was trying to sound out your examples and I really couldn't tell the difference.

I do have question though. What is the name of the letter " ł "? To be honest I am kinda getting tired of calling it the "L with a slash through it".

I'm from florida (so I'm not speaking for all americans) and I'm sure its not 'proper english' but it makes so much more sense to use "yall" or "y'all" when you mean to address multiple people

Language / Sticklers for grammar? [17]

That is defiantly good to hear. That was one of the top things I am worried about when I go.

Language / Sticklers for grammar? [17]

I am learning polish in my free time and I have never been able to find an actual teacher.

Because of this, pl grammar has been very scary -- at least to me.... (I'm from an american background)

On a scale from 1-10 .. How much would a pole hate me if my grammar was horrible?
