Food / Types of CHEESE in Poland [150]

If your in the UK, try the Sainsbury's 'taste the difference' range. They are all full flavour, and beautiful. Not processed or homogonised. All other supermarkets fall short. (And I work for one of the other supermarkets)

This is of course for the God of English cheese... Cheddar! Emmental, Brie and Edam are continental cheese's, and beautiful, but I cannot recommend varieties! I hope this helps at least 1 person to a new flavour sensation!

Life / EXPATS in POLAND: 10 things you miss / don't miss about home . . . [138]

Naw, we're the best at slobbering hands down. After 35 shots of polish vodka, I can speak fluent pigeon Polish.

Don't want to join the general debate, as I am too much of a newbie with the debate, but did want to say that the quote is of absolute genius. Spot on... 100%. 35 shots may be a little much for us light weights, but I work in the half/ bottle volumes and working out the maths is a bit tricky when you have been on the medicine!

Love / Why are Polish women so sexy ? [390]

May be that your seeing them on the wrong day. I find that some days, all the people that you meet are really attractive or at least 'worth a squirt'. ;) On other days you walk about town and you start to worry about if the moon is coming out soon, because there will be a lot of howling and hair growing coming up!

Who is going to be first to verbally slap my wrists then?

Language / Where can I find audio of polish words [24]

Waterstones the bookstore sell a CD of basics. Cannot remember the name. Sorry. Look in the language section. If there is not a local one, try online. Other than that I am absolutely of no use!

Life / Prices of cars in Poland? [88]

I have heard of people buying second hand cars here in the uk and then selling them in Poland, so there must be a loop hole somewhere in the system.

But thanks for the speed camera photo tip. The next time I am in Poland, I will drive my friends car after he has been drinking ( and hopefully asleep) and put my foot down. All the camera will see is a sleeping man speeding. Great fun! :)

UK, Ireland / Cheap calls to Poland from the UK [134]

If you are settled in England and have a land line, get a good package from your broadband provider. (i.e. Orange, talk talk, etc... (not tiscalli!)) and all your calls will be free. Absolutely no cost its all done over the internet. I have nothing to sell, unlike the above. Search around and you will find the same results. Normal package cost is about £20 a month for your internet access (unlimited download + free calls for 1 hour( but hang up and re-dial is allowed)) So basically free talking forever. The way it should be.

Hope this helps against this advert above.

Landline to landline (e.g BT to telekomunikacja) + 99 other countries available at the same cost. I forgot to mention!

Life / Why are Poles always so miserable? Why do they never smile? [512]

In English its either a term of affection, but more commonly a negative feeling. If I were to use it, it would be the latter. I.e. someone who has their hair, nails, skin etc... 'Just so'. (e.g. everything on the outside is front cover perfect) but very little on the inside.

Genealogy / Are all Poles blue eyed and blonde? [451]

Devils advocate here... Blonde with blue eyes is far north (probably Europe). People that easily tan or have a 'healthy' coloured skin and dark coloured hair, Middle Europe or towards Asia. Dark coloured skin and hair would be from anywhere further south!

This is a very broad speaking version, but if you think your something, your probably wrong, (e.g. Someone that thinks they are pure 100% English but, has black hair and brown eyes with white skin, is genetically wrong for what they are claiming).

I call myself a North European male and i mean this in the Geographical sense, not the political! So it covers a much wider spectrum. I have a little of the dark hair/skin/eye genetics but it only shows in my ermmm 'adult' hair, so I think its a minimal percentage?!?

Varsovian, I think I am backing you up on this point?

With an Asian mix of any kind, the strongest feature to continue through the blood line is the eye shape. It's very, very strong, and even noticable in blonde people with fair skin.

Love / Why Polish girl is very easy to approach and be in relationship? [63]

From my experience (regardless of nationality, and including chats amongst my female and male friends)... Women are just as bad as Men and, don't let this come as a shock to you, Men are as bad as Women.

Everyone wants something different from life , if 2 people meet up that want the same thing, then its all good, until someone changes their mind. Women like to complain about Men and Men like to complain about Women. This I am afraid is normal life.

Unless your embarking on a new relationship, in which case everything is wonderful and your sex life couldn't be better! (Gits)

I would like to respectfully disagree with some people about acting on desire, I find it a wonderful emotion when mixed with passion, just so long as you both are respectful of the others feelings. People that are happy with one night stands are ok as long as they both know that is all it will ever be. (This doesn't apply to me, but if other people want to live this way, they are not hurting me, so why should I argue? Even if I think it's a little shallow)

In a round about way, what I am saying is, this is not a Polish thing, or an English thing, or an American thing or an (insert your own country) thing. This is Human nature. Sorry for anyone who this may come as a shock to!

Different people live by different rules. They don't all agree. This Forum proves it!

I could go on for hours, but I will stop now. (You can all breath a sigh of relief)
