Love / Are there Polish women who date black guys? [281]

They look like Swedish girls. I would love to meet a Polish beutiful girl. Do they any problems with talking to a cool vuy like me who is black.

Please don't ever try to say that eastern European women look like Swedish girls. Maybe you have a hard time distinguishing white girls because Swedish girls are angelic and it's heresy to compare trash from eastern Europe to them.

By the way, Slavs are not 100% white. Some of them obviously have mongoloid ancestry due to the slanted eyes some of them have.

and sorry if this annoys anyone, you people probably see this a lot.

I hope you're not offended by this but you look partly mongoloid to me.

You the Polska & the Ukrainian one are the only hot ones.

Slavic women look so much better than these other hideous ethnicities.

Trollololololololol.

lol at Slavic women being the hottest. Maybe they're the sluttiest but certainly not the hottest.

Life / How many Jewish people live in Poland? [145]

Most of it is just talk, nothing else.

I read on Haaretz an article a while ago about how antisemitism is most prevalent in western Europe because of Muslim immigration.

Life / How is red hair viewed in Poland [37]

I'm glad I don't have red hair because I've heard many girls talk about how they would never want to date a redhead.

I live in America though.

Love / Why do so many Polish girls dye their hair BLACK? [124]

Yeah um this trend is over here in the US as well. Get with the times buddy.

I think Polish women are tired of being Polish. So they dyed their hair black.

Actually, there's been a study done on hair color in Poland and it's pretty even with about half of Poles falling under blond/dark blond/light brown and the other half falling under medium brown/dark brown/black.

One thing I find weird about this site is that some people on here try to make it seem like Poles have a monolithic look which is far from the truth. The Polish population consists of many different looks. Get over it.

Life / Uptight Poles [262]

Ogien, society permitted it for so long. I think only Scots and Jews are fans of passive smoking due to the free fumes side of things ;) ;)

Why Scots?

I see your point but you can't blame sb for merely exercising their rights. You can always ask them to blow the smoke away from you.

I think in America (or at least my state anyway) we have a more negative view of people smoking around others than in Europe. The education system greatly emphasized the consequences of passive smoking when I went to school.

The OP said it wasn't her business but when her health is at risk, I would say it is her business. :-)

Life / Uptight Poles [262]

I went out with a friend of mine last night to a street festival, she was unhappy about my smoking, told me not to smoke. I told her to relax. She got upset and left, because I would not change my habits for her.

Were you smoking around her? Considering the harmful effects of second hand smoking, I would be a little irritated as well. I'm an American by the way.

This is what he wrote in his last few posts.

Nick the Greek:
Modern Polish Peoples are not Slav by Virtue of their Dna, the Polish People are Slavonic by Virtue of their language and their customs, and the cultural traditions they Inherited from ages past...The exact same thing can be said for the Modern Greeks!

I haven't read the entire thread but if he's contradicting himself then whatever. I'm just going by what he said most recently. Giving me a quote out of context is not very useful for me...

EDIT: Here's something he wrote that should clear that up for you Des Essientes.

Blood and Dna are important factors in determining where your roots and ethno-origins lay but that information may be incompatible with who you are today..

I agree with Nick. There are Poles who are descendants of Germans who were polonized ages ago. They don't speak German and they don't know much about German culture besides Oktoberfest hehe. In my view, they are Poles, not Germans. Enough said.

I'm an American of European descent but I do not go around saying I'm a European. I was raised in America. I have an American accent. I celebrate the 4th of July and Thanksgiving. I am an American.

The Afrikaners of South Africa do not consider themselves Dutch which is what a lot of idiots seem to think. One of the reasons why Afrikaners began speaking Afrikaans more frequently than Dutch was because the Afrikaners were rebellious and wanted to stray away from the Dutch lifestyle. Children would be punished in school if they were caught speaking Dutch. The funny thing is, many Afrikaners are not even of Dutch descent. The French, Germans, and British came to the mix as well. There are even minorities of Polish descent.

The apartheid government classified the Afrikaner as any white person who spoke Afrikaans as a native language. Nowadays, there is no strict monolithic definition. I hear many South Africans considering themselves Afrikaners simply because they live the Afrikaans lifestyle.

You mean, the red is all Slavs? Actually it can't be because Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are definitely not Slavic.

I know. Having the R1a haplogroup does not mean you're Slavic. India and Tajikistan have a high frequency of R1a. Does that mean people from there are Slavic? Obviously no. I posted that map to show that some people in this thread have no idea what the hell they're talking about. That's especially true for Southern who has some weird obsession with Slavic people.

Also, the latest scientific studies have shown evidence that the R1a haplogroup most likely originated in South Asia.

Language / Polish was chosen the HARDEST LANGUAGE in the world to learn... :D [1558]

@Koala, I've studied some of the Baltic languages on my own, have also taken more than a passing gander at Finnish. Let me say that compared with Hungarian, Finnish may be only slightly more irregular, it's pronunciation though is far easier.

It still has the most complex grammar system of any European language. Period.

I know that the pronunciation/reading/writing is easy to get proficient at.

Back to English. NO language is as orthographically chaotic as ours. Period!!

I hope you're talking about European languages only...

I do agree that reading and writing in English is complicated but it's definitely not the hardest in the world.

The weird thing is that sort of stuff is going to keep getting more popular as CGI graphics continue to look more realistic. I guess it's fine as long as it gives you a hard on.

American women seam to have a stereotype of being fat and ugly, yet every single day i see so many beauties (especially in the suburbs) some so pretty i can't believe my eyes.

Yeah, I know what you mean. There are also so many American women of mixed descent and they end up looking incredible. I see so many beauties with combinations of Irish, Italian, Swedish, French and others.

Language / Polish was chosen the HARDEST LANGUAGE in the world to learn... :D [1558]

These are some of the idiomatic expressions they like using off the top of my head.

"It's raining cats and dogs" which means it's raining heavily.

"Put your thinking cap on" which obviously means to think carefully.

"Put some elbow grease to it" which means put some effort into whatever physical work you're doing.

Bear in mind, it's perfectly fine to use these sayings but it just gets aggravating when it's used constantly.

Lyzko how do you rate English skills of Polish Forums users. I find many Poles here speaking (or rather writing) perfect English!

Most of the Poles I know speak English very well. My only gripe is that they sometimes use very corny expressions. It's like they're trying too hard to sound like a native English speaker.

Contrary to what a lot of foreigners think, here in America we don't use those corny expressions so frequently. Although you should still learn them because you probably will run into someone using them. Just don't say them too often because otherwise you might be perceived as an annoying person.

You honestly sound like a ******* loser dude. You've posted that so many times in this thread already. Step away from your sticky keyboard and mouse and go outside for once. You obviously have some kind of complex insecurity whenever you find yourself in the context of people disagreeing about Polish women being "the most beautiful."

Conversely, Ogien, for a Polish native speaker, English would have to be intuitively one of (if not THE) hardest languages to master competely and effectively!

I doubt it. I really think Mandarin is the toughest language to learn for any native speaker of an Indo-European language.

plus our grammar is as confusing in its way as either Polish or Icelandic

Well, it might be confusing because it's different but it's certainly not as complex. You should check out Finnish grammar and you'll see what a truly difficult grammar system really is.

Language / Polish was chosen the HARDEST LANGUAGE in the world to learn... :D [1558]

^My point was that Russian is MOSTLY phonetic. It's no where near as tough as English or even Arabic which has no vowels.

I NEVER said that learning an alphabet guarantees you proficiency in reading any language that uses it. I meant reading Cyrillic for the Russian language doesn't take too long to learn to read.

For a native English speaker, Polish would probably be one of the hardest European languages to learn.

Finnish would probably be the toughest language to learn because it has such a complex grammar system. This would be difficult to grasp since English has very simple grammar and thus many Finnish grammar concepts would seem foreign.

Also, to whoever said that Russian is harder than Polish because it uses the Cyrillic alphabet, I'd say that's a bad reason. Reading and writing in Russian is done mostly phonetically so it's definitely not tough like reading English or Arabic. I think any decently intelligent person can become proficient in reading Cyrillic within a week.
