Work / Poland Visa D and traveling-US Citizen [13]

Mar 20, 10, 19:31 - Thread attached on merging:
Working in Poland after a VISA

My VISA D expires soon and I will be returning to the US (my place of residency). I have been here for 10 months.

The company is inviting me to come back in the future, a couple of times a year for short term work periods (like 2 weeks at a time) to continue to do some work.

Applying for a new visa D, each time and for a short working period seems like a big hassle.

Are there other options?

Law / Residency decision letter vs residency card and Poland Visa D [9]

I am here on a Visa D. However, my family had to go through the temporary residency process. They were given their official decision letters back in December (residency ends in June). However, we never got the plastic ID cards at that time (but we DO have the official letters). We have never really needed either in our daily lives.

Now it is time for them to return to the States. Will they need a residency plastic cards to LEAVE Poland (Warsaw to Chicago flight)- OR can the official decision letter work in its place as they try to leave Poland? (they have US passports).

Work / Poland Visa D and traveling-US Citizen [13]

This is my second VISA question of the night. Although my family has Karta Pobytu, I personally have a VISA- type D issued by Poland. I am a US citizen with a valid US passport.

I recently read that a VISA-D only allows one to travel for transit in other Schengen countries for no more than 5 days. But if I had a Karta Pobytu then I could travel for 90.

I was initially told that as a US citizen and having a VISA-D, it was not necessary for me to have a Karta Pobytu. My only concern is with travel outside of Poland to other Schengen.

Does that mean with my US passport and Polish VISA-D I can only leave Poland and holiday in other Schengen countries for 5 days or less?

I have a 9 day holiday planned for Hungary and Slovakia. Then more Schengen holidays planned for later. An issue?

Thanks

USA, Canada / Tracking a package through the Polish Postal system sent from US [57]

I agree with the luck part. I believe my package- which started this thread- was "chosen" for Customs. It was torn open, supposedly inspected and retaped with Poczta Polska tape. It did finally show, with all its contents, but took much longer than I expected.

USA, Canada / Tracking a package through the Polish Postal system sent from US [57]

My family sent a small package via USPS Priority International. They got a CP number (I assume this is customs). On the USPS site- it confirms it was delivered to International Dispatch in Chicago on Nov 20th. The trail ends there.

Is there a way I can track the package through the Polish Postal or other service using the Customs number?

Also, does anyone know an average a package takes to get from the US to Poland via USPS Priority International?
