News / Coal-Powered Poland Refuses to "Go Green". EU Ain't Happy. [304]

The EU overrides a sovereign when it comes to that sovereign's well being?

There has been quite a conspiracy surrounding these "facts". What to stop Poland from looking into clean coal? Or nuclear?

News / Does Poland support the idea of Slavic unity? [142]

Babinichu, why discourage pan-Slavic feelings? Idea of Slavic union is noble one. Its more then SU. Idea could be applied on some future Commonwealth

The lessons of the EU are clear.

Nations do not need collapse into a union in order to trade with or come to the defense of other nations.

News / Polish People STILL denied US Entry [96]

President Obama will appeal to Polish American voters this summer and will lift restrictions. It's the political thing to do and no previous president has appealed to 'block' voters like this one has.

appealed/manipulated... You like potato and I like potahto...

That honor goes to FDR in 1944

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2237]

there is a reason the economy is in the toilet and the rich are getting richer and not paying their fair of taxes.

The top ten percent paid seventy percent of federal income taxes. Forty-nine percent of U.S. households paid no federal income tax at all.

Ok, well democracy is one thing, the United States is another...

That's right: the United States is supposed to be a Republic and not a Democracy.

~~~
The equal right to bear arms should be extended to other equalities...
Interesting... Please bring to light these so called equalities you want guaranteed as rights.
~~~

Murder rates in my country are lower, so how do you explain that??

Why are the USA's rates higher? The Great Society...

The USA has to get back to its roots: Life is full of aspirations but rights are limited to the pursuit, not the guarantee, of happiness.

News / A devestating verdict on the Polish church [279]

Whether you believe in the sacrament of confession is irrelevant.

Your statement was that clergy pretend to be pure. The priests I know do not believe themselves to be pure.

History / Poland in a Slavic Union/Alliance/Federation? [335]

I don't think Czech Republic is at the same level of development as Ukraine.

Please define development.

What about the richer slavic countries like Poland having to support the weaker slavic countries as in a true union?

Please... Has nothing been learned from the EU experience?

Life / Cannabis / Weed in Poland... How much does marijuana cost per gram and how easy is to get it? [355]

It may peak after the first year or so of legalisation but then it after the initial period of curiosity it would level out.

Which drugs are we talking about? Will curiosity be enough to break the habit? Aren't we talking about the possibility peer pressure, physical and mental addiction?

He thing to remember is that were drugs legalised then it would bring far less health problems to users as

A J

wrote in his post

Are you saying that possible lung damage, slowing of motor skills, the impact on pregnant women would lead to far less health related problems?

And last but not least; Doing drugs will no longer be vieuwed as something illegal, so to a lot of young and rebellious people who are seeking the thrills and the kicks of doing something that's obviously not allowed, it might not appeal that much, or even seem adventurous anymore.

Which do you propose to legalize? Do you propose a limits? At or under 'x' legal; over 'x' illegal?

If drugs are legalized will drug usage increase or decrease?

News / THE ARMY OF POLAND - THE REALITY [493]

Citizen armies are much better than professional armies in a democracy.

I am not so sure. I am reading a book about the American Revolution and citizen armies had plenty of issues. Funds, ammunition, discipline and leadership being some of the largest issues.

The great advantage of citizen armies is their gorliwość.

News / Do Poles in Poland really feel betrayed because there won't be any US Shield? [288]

Whether or not Obama definitively cancels the missile defense plans will be a decisive indication if serious US rethinking is possible or not.
