Not entirely true.. Yes it is a fact that mixed race relationships are not as prevalent in Poland as in other "western" European countries but there are more and more of those relationships now. I personally know at least 3 Polish families very well who have family members in 'mixed-race' relationships and they have totally accepted "outsiders" .. Some of the family members had some concerns in the beginning but as time went by, they accepted the relationship.

Well when I was a student in London, the first family that I stayed with happened to be English and they all had a problem with body odor and showers. They took showers every 3 days and they expected me to do the same. I can still see their horrified looks when they got their water bill a month after I moved in :-)

I would say that all relationships in this day and age take time and varying levels of efforts to make them work. There are many relationships that fail where both parties are from the same culture, grew up in the same area/ environment, share identical values, believe in the same religion etc. Relationships these days can fail because of any number of reasons.. saying "Yes" or "Maybe" when someone asks if the jeans makes their ass look big is almost a sure way to end one. :-)
