Food / What's your favorite Polish beer? [870]

Thanks to the weatherspoons chain you can buy both Tyskie and Zwiecz all over the UK. You have to go easy though as Polish beer is very strong :)

Food / Bread Baking in Poland [65]

Is there a Polish bread recipe that works with a bread making machine? I know it sounds lazy but my baking skills are probably not upto much!

Did you try Jennings? They are quite a small company based in the Lake District. They brew a number of beers, the most common being:

Cumberland Ale
Cumberland Bitter
Sneck Lifter

I would recomend Jennings beer :)

Cheap in the supermarkets but not so cheap in the pubs!

I also think it is more pure (less chemicals)

Sounds like you like polish beer very much Nicoletia :)

There was an artical in the local newspaper today about a shop owner who has started stocking Polish food. Apperently it is selling so well to both english & polish people that he sells out allmost as soon as the food arrives. One of the foods mentioned was birds milk. Can you imagine milking a bird!

When I read through the article I found out it had nothing to do with birds.......

Love / Polish women are the most beautiful in the world! [1718]

I can follow your comments on fashion Amathyst. I have been to Poland, Czech Rep & Slovakia and would say that in general the women dress in a more classy way that the average Brit. Though I must admit that on my last holiday to the Czech Rep I thought there was less difference in fashion than previous visits. Perhaps in 10 years time there will be no noticable difference???

UK, Ireland / Polish Beer In The UK [98]

I noticed this morning that Lloyds bar in Carlisle are now advertising that they are selling 3 brands of Polish beer. Great news as I like polish beer.

Cost is £2.40 per bottle though! - I bet they are making a good profit. How much is beer in a Polish bar? £0.75 - £1.00?

Do you have Becherovka in Poland? It is Popular in the Czech Republic and VERY nice. It is only 38% though so a little weaker than your vodka......

I use skype quite a lot, both to talk to people on other computers and to ring land lines. I would recommend it.
