Genealogy / THE MEANING AND RESEARCH OF MY POLISH LAST NAME, SURNAME? [4500]

Hi there.
My Grandfather was Polish and his father was Russian.
Hence my surname 'Kaczanow'
Not sure if there are lots of people with this name in Russia but my family seem to be the only
ones in England. If I google it in English the only people that come up are my family.
I have asked about the name in Poland and they tell me it must be Russian.
Has anyone ever heard it before ?

I think the 21 in Poland are probably also my family :-)
There may be hundreds in Russia but having a name like this one in England makes it difficult to blend into the croud - lol.
