Life / 3 reasons why you hate Poland. [1049]
Ok....I don't live in Poland....I live in the US. Both sets of my grandparents immigrated to the US. Since I was a little girl, I have always dreamed of visiting the country where my grandparents came from. Last year, I was finally able to visit Poland with a Polish friend of mine.
Not being a Polish native, I realize that my impressions will be different. But, I LOVED Poland. I loved the food (To me, everything is so fresh. It isn't loaded with all of the preservatives like it is in the States. My favorites were the trout, the cheese, and the salads. ). I loved the nature. The countrysides are truly breathtaking. It was so wonderful not seeing billboards everywhere. I really love the Polish herding dogs!!!!! I'm sorry, but I can't remember the name. But they are big, white, and wonderful!!!!! I loved the Open Markets. Got a GREAT pair of boots there!!!!
I have to say that I agree with the statements that some Polish people just seem so negative and don't smile. But, given the history of Poland, I can't say as I blame them. It is interesting to note, however....that in the US....at least to me anyway....the Polish people are much more positive, smiling, happy, and hospitable.
I realize that I don't live in Poland, so day to day experiences are different from a "week's visit"...but you truly have a beautiful country. I loved it and hope to return someday. It's better than you think.....
