How will she know if she does not try.

We have this people called doctors...
There are known conditions that prevent you from taking the pill
The Op never said she never tried the pill, just that she won't take it noe

As to the man pill why didn't you suggest it to the OP then?

How about you going and jumping in the nearest lake - trouble maker.

I hope you mean just to cool myself because if it something different then it's not very Christian of you, is it? :D

Pills are not without an impact to a body. Personally I will be very happy once I can stop worry about it.

Plus Johnny please read before you comment, it really won't kill you:

She's allergic to contraceptives

While I never heard of anyone being allergic there are situation when a women cannot take the pill.

I think the whole thread is BS and I would advice OP to be more specific - does she haye sex or is she scared of pregnancy (very sensible if she was already burnt once)

Language / Game - guess Polish idioms/sayings in direct English translation [1756]

She was quite straighforward. :)

Oh yeah, she isn't one to beat around the bush :)
She had a friend who once who described their mutual friend this way
'She had more di*** in her ass than the Chinese have army'..
I was always torn between disgust at the awful language and admiration for the crude poetry.

That friend was a teacher btw :)

did you mum say that when she wanted you to do something but you were being lazy or too busy doing something else perhaps?

Usually when we asked her to do something for us that she judged as cheeky. Like lets say if we are sitting around and we want a sandwich and ask her to make it at an age when we are fully capable of making them ourselves.

That`s interesting, I never heard it before, though I can roughly imagine what it means.

My mom's speciality. She loved telling us that

No Chemikiem, I can think of a hint bit I'm afraid it will make it too easy so I will wait till tomorrow:)

News / Years of Poland in the EU - assessment of pros and cons [1186]

Not another one...
The fact that it's your prefered British way doesn't mean everybody wants to live that way. I personally find British architecture completely impractical. Houses the size of flats or smaller but with stairs taking a lot of space and no benefit of isolation as most houses are built without any cellar, just on the ground level. Is the 'garden' is supposed to make up for all that ? Not everyone would agree.

Oh for Pete's sake, get off your high hourse and walk around coucil estate in your home country.

And it was London and not Warsaw or Katowice where many ppl died in a fire because of dangerous materials being used.

I think what bothers you most is that noone wants to share your view. Neither the goverment nor , more importantly, the residents.

Life / When will SMOKING BE BANNED? (from public areas in Poland) [44]

My point was of all the money that is being made

True but you are suggesting that these laws are in place to earn money with private prisons. Poland doesn't have private prisons yet we have even lower limits.

Plus I can't see private prisons being created in Poland. We have completely different penitentiary system and our prison guards are uniform service along with military and police.

And even though we have harsher laws somehow I can't say this about Poland:

You can't drive around the US cities anymore after 9 PM

We call it "adult curfew".

Walk to the pub, take a taxi or have a friend drive you. Somehow I don't see a reason to drive after drinking. And that poor guy drinking few beers after work has a simple solution- drink and not drive.

As to the thread topic (I know how keen you are on staying on topic Johhny) smoking is already banned and pubs survived. Although I must admit that the ones that have smoking part are doing better during winter.

Anything more than 1 and 1/2 beers or two shots of vodka and you go to jail if you get caught driving.

Poland will catch on soon

You do realize Poland has lower alcohol limits? Even the higher limit is lower than the USA. . Have a look on here before you start posting about it again

News / President Duda rules out homo marriage in Poland as banned by the constitution [172]

They know what they have claimed to be their stance. Those news tell their supporters that PiS is consistent and keep its promises.

The thing is that there was never ever a question about their stance.
Of course you are free to think it's news and Polonius posted it to inform ppl but I don't.

Homo's & Lesbians)

Wow, that shows real knowledge of the issue :)

If PiS did that it would be the equivalent of raping young children, depriving them of genuine, time-tested values and turning them over to the vultures and hyenas of commercial pop culture.

Even though I don't agree with your statement that's not what I was saying. I simply said that it's a non issue for PiS the same as with same sex couples.

And to be fair I think religion at school harms the church. Especially with teenagers. It would be benefitial to move them back to religion rooms (salami katechetyczne).

I'm sure that all voters in Poland are interested to know what is president's and probably PiS's stance on this issue

The thing is though that everyone knows their stance on that issue. That's what I'm arguing.

For most people who are not partisan and biased all that ain't that simple.

Oh get of your high horse.
1-ppl don't make their voting choices by what they read on PF
2- Polonius is the most biased here just pro not against and somehow you don't have a problem with that
3-as I said, PiS stance on homosexual relationships is well known
If you notice I didn't say anything against PiS just that this is a no news 'news'.

Why? If he want to praise PiS let him do it.

I'm not stopping him, I'm expressing my opinion. If he has the right to create yet another thread with all his typical cliches then I have the right to say I find it irritating and boring. Especially since it's a news in the same way I'm a queen of England.

I'm waiting for announcement that PiS will not remove religion from schools, won't vote Kaczynski out as the party's leader or something obvious like that. And then we can all go 'wow! Really?! I never would have guessed that! It changed my life!' If I practice long enough I may even say it with a straight face

GENITIVE SINGULAR MASCULINE of siostrzANIEC is in fact "siostrzeŃca",

SiostrzEniec not siostrzaniec. Be careful with your spelling because that's one of your weaknesses.

PiS only change things for the better. That's why they're called the "good-change government".

Yeah, yeah, keep on repeating that like a mantra and maybe you'll convince someone.
Seriously do you have your slogans stored somewhere so you can paste them in your posts? Would save you a lot of time...

Not - they're backwood and smelly.

What he's doing is creating yet another thread in news that is no news but just the opportunity for him to praise PiS and moan about homosexuals. Boring really and irritating

If you look at Lyzko post you'll notice he means female relative. He translates both as niece in which case it's siostrzenica and bratanica. I corrected the spelling as for niece not nephew.

You are right about the case if you look at the original post though.

"Bratnica"

BratAnica

"siostrzenca" (minus ź) means NIECE!

Siostrzenica means niece. Siostrzeńca is a variation of the word siostrzeniec which means nephew

News / Abortion still under control in Poland [2986]

The voice of the people was heard and now it looks like it won't be going forward and the law is likely to remain as it is.

Well Macierewicz already said that PiS will pass the changes but in slower, more quiet way that won't start such opposition from citizens. So we may not take his word (quite a lot of ppl consider him a bit crazy) but he is part of the government.

Demagogic slogans not worth much. Get down from your soap box and talk to me using arguments if you know how.

So you are calling the 3 legal reasons for abortion a demagogic slogan? So how should I call these situations in which a women can have legal abortion without being accused of using demagogic slogans?

We are talking about existing abortion law (with 3 demagogic slogans as circumstances allowing it) vs new proposal making any abortion illegal (including when the women life is in danger) not about selfish, irresponsible women treating abortion as contraception (since they wouldn't be able to abort legally no matter under which law).
