News / Modern F-35 bought by Poland. Good decision? [288]

This is approaching the twilight zone....Poland's decision to buy some F-35's is discussed here by the Russians, Germans, Serbs, Brits but not the the Poles who will have to pay for them, keep them running and maybe even use them. Weird.

can be tricked out with lots of different awesome weapons.

....which is a total waste since the US is arming China and Europe is arming Russia by the boatloads of money being sent there.

At the very best, the US needs those F-35's in another police action against a minor player like Iraq while defenseless against civilians like Taliban.

We will be getting our own nuclear weapons,

No, you won't be.

Combat aircraft:
Poland 91
Russia 873

Don't pis* them off.

turn enemy targets into steaming radioactive desert. It might be Russia

That is what two Euro-idiots thought in 1812 and 1941.

for the smart decision of selling us those deadly, stealthy, ultra-modern killing machines. :)

Sometimes, an ultra-modern killing machine can be an ultra-modern suicide machine.

That F-35 could just as easily be made of plywood and the outcome of Russia vs Poland would be the same. This comparison shows conclusively that the decision to buy them was pure politics or bribery or both.

globalfirepower.com/countries-comparison-detail.asp?form=form&country1=poland&country2=russia&Submit=COMPARE

The US would be insane to place F-35's at the Russia's doorstep and in the hands the US does not control.

The answer may depend on how cynical you're willing to be.

Cynicism is another guy's wisdom. My best non-cynical explanation - even if F-35 was the world's best aircraft - is as above.

Russia's population is too small and the Russians too smart to get bogged down in the protracted US-style pseudo wars. In a conflict that would be as serious as the one in 1941, Russia would have no choice but to go for the nukes and turn Poland into Hiroshima times 100.

Memo to Poland: cancel that order and buy something you can actually use.

Combat aircraft:
Poland 91
Russia 873
Not even Matka Boska can make those numbers less laughable.

so it does not matter how much the Europeans spend on their defence.

The only threat Europe had to face was from Germany. Now that Europe and Germany are the same, since Germany will not attack itself, you can disarm.

Russia was never a threat to Europe. It was Europe who attacked Russia and the Soviet Union.

No more anchor babies as well, this stupid law needs to be changed a.s.a.p.

Nothing gets me going as much as the insane immigration laws of the US. That is why I hate all immigrants, their bad English and their damn hyphens.

News / Why is Poland so hostile against Germany? Do they realize how their reparations rubbish damages relations? [510]

...and that is why smart atheists like me support the concept and the practice of religion as the core and the "compass".

as long as they work hard, behave well, and make Poland stronger and richer, let them come.

The problem is that temporary workers do not make the country stronger. Just the opposite. They depress wages and take the money they earned with them which is imports and, as such, make the country weaker, as opposed to exports.

European energy prices are obscene!

How obscene are they? I love that 2.75 per gallon in the Chicago burbs. And then there are the registration fees in Poland that are even more so if the car has an eight-banger.

The fact that we no longer believe in God does not diminish our support of the values that we were taught.

Well said. It is actually so good that it should be included in your acceptance speech when you are made PM.
In my opinion, the claims of the supernatural take away from the message and diminish the speaker. When my doc tells me to take a pill, I don't want to be told to face East when I swallow. If he did, I would never see him again.

When Hitler and Germany were defeated, Europe was defeated.

Those who were still standing when the Soviets opened the gates of Auschwitz would disagree.
The basic problem with denying the deaths of millions is that it requires the proof that they were still alive in June of 1945 and that those who were transported to Auschwitz and other such places died of natural causes. Also an explanation why they found themselves there.

This or Auschwitz is just a movie decoration.

Why should we spend 80 million on something that cant do what we want?

What do you want and for what specific purpose? To fight Russia? If so, you don't need anything or you are likely to do something really stupid like a preemptive strike and die within the next 20 minutes. Please, disarm if this is your reason to buy the toys for grown-ups.

BTW, when was the last time a German soldier fired a gun to kill not in self-defense?

I don't think we need NATO. It's a fossil of cold war era and way over its time.

Couldn't agree more.

Stick to the subject of the thread please

Poland is NATO. What Poland has reflects directly on NATO and its military strength.
In #10, pawian wrote: I still can't forget the September campaign 1939. No red comments there.
In fact, his post had zero connection with the purchase of F-35's while mine about NATO is current and relevant.

We chose a jet that costs 50 million more per unit. The F-35 is cheap trash.

My suggestion for you is to take a deep breath and edit before posting. First, F-35 was too expensive. Now, it's cheap. So which one is it? You don't have to answer because that was a rhetorical question and a way for me to tell you that your anger is excessive and makes you say stupid things.

In support of that opinion, I did notice that your favorite word is "trash". Which is OK, since mine is "moron". So we are in the same poster category and nothing to be proud of.

Anyone who wants attack us has to cross NATO anyways. That's the benefits of being in the core.

...and, along with that graph in 167, the very definition of a parasite.

But I agree with you that being a parasite is less expensive and very smart.

Back to why you need NATO - with or without the US. Any thoughts on that without insults?

Class dismissed.

Not yet. Before it's really over, I would like to know why he decided to insult Trump. By best guess is that Trump did something really good for the US that pis*ed off Germans. I hope he, Trump, will continue doing just that in his second term.

they betrayed their Kurdish allies

Are you serious? Kurdish allies? We don't have allies! Even in Europe. Just the parasites the American taxpayers support in so many ways.
Kurdish "allies" were not defending the US. We owe them and everybody else nothing. Poland included.

You don't want examples.because it embarrasses you?

I want the definition. Examples follow definitions.

Go home then. LOL!

That question requires a number. "Go home then. LOL!" is not a number.

Staging war with Iran is not in german interest, we want stability down there.

Defending Germany is in the US interest, so you can relax.
BTW, how do you get all that oil delivered to Germany?

Milo and Torq, the shallowness of your response is such that you would be better off leaving what Vesko and Dirk wrote without a comment.

For the record, I agree with them. If only because they make sense and nobody opposed them with facts and logic.
Like, why is Mein Kampf banned anywhere? Because somebody's feelings may be hurt? Or because it says inconvenient things?

Germany has a bigger problem than F-35. It became a disloyal and cowardly parasite. From FT.com:
Germany rejects US request for help in the Gulf

But on Tuesday Germany rebuffed a formal Washington request for support, saying it would not contribute to a US-led naval mission in the region.

A spokeswoman for the US embassy in Berlin said: "We have formally asked Germany to join France and the UK to help secure the Straits of Hormuz and combat Iranian aggression. Members of the German government have been clear that freedom of navigation should be protected . . . Our question is, protected by whom?

Germany has pussyfied itself into irrelevance and became just an annoying liability to the US and its allies. You don't need that F-35. We will protect you for free.
