Polonia / What do Poles think of how they are treated in Germany, in comparison to the Muslim migrants [181]

Maybe there is a place that has a better one than I had in Berlin. Maybe

You'd have liked Theo's. As I say, go to any Cypriot-owned one, or even some of the newer Turkish ones that are popping up nowadays.

the quality is a bit variable

It can be. Usually the Indian ones (or the Syrian/Egyptian ones; there are a few in Warsaw) aren't as good as the others. I tend only to go to one nowadays.

A shame you can't see how much of a 'kids throwing toys out of the pram' vibe you give

Probably because it's not there.

I would rather wait

Try a good one.

Generally if the proprietors are from the subcontinent as you'll find in more downmarket places, they're not as good as the real ones.

Yes, better than UK but not as good as Berlin

I've never had one in Poland half as good.

Then again, you've got culture shock and never managed to lose that sulk that some Poles and Lithuanians get when faced with a more developed society.

kebab in UK.

You probably go to the wrong places. Try Cypriot-owned ones.

The worst kebab I ever had in my life was in Gdańsk near Stogi beach. Paradoxically, it had a sign outside saying "Najlepsze kebaby w mieście" (a case of false advertising if ever there was one) and had fatty pork meat, ketchup, mayonnaise and kapusta kiszona in. At least the seagulls were ok to eat most of it.

No

So some Germans are less equal than other Germans.

Interesting. I wonder if that's been tried before....

rightists are not prone to take to the streets

There are the people who do precisely that. The moderate majority do not.

Bio-Germans

What is that? 'Bio-Germans' is a new term for me.

How do they differ from other Germans?

Are all Germans not equal there?

All 110.000 of them?

Quite. The other 65 million people in the country did not attend a silly march.

Why would anyone fear such characters?

we don't want them here!

Who's we?

demonstration

Nobody is afraid of fascists.

Do you have a migrant in your apartment?

Yes.

It's 8.36 in Illinois. Those two coffin dodgers must appear as soon as they've managed to wake up.

It's strange that someone who looks or behaves differently or has a different political outlook triggers you so much.

Hard to know who "wanders about half the globe" or why wandering would be an issue.

near the central station and that was about it! Then

Hotdogs with crunchy things sprinkled on top, or zapiekanka with the ketchup automatically put on since they couldn't believe that someone might not want it.

When the Vietnam bars started to open around the Palace of Culture it was a revelation. Sad they're gone.

Oscar

All those bloody panini counters under the roundabout!
Customer: Proszę, bez cebuli
Employee: Bez cebuli nie jest w naszej ofercie

Do you remember that American one called King Pie that opened on Jerozolimskie? Trouble was, the concept of a pie just puzzled them and the name 'pies' on the price list implied that it was something to do with dogs.

There was a decent Mexican one that opened not far away near the Hest hairdresser. Far too much flavour and vegetables for the market though so it just became another King Kebab or whatever.

Yes, it does....I don't want to see them on my streets

Why not?

Islam

It's not all the same you know. Your German neighbour of Turkish heritage is t the same as some hothead convert.

Coming from a Leftie, thats funny!

Why funny? Most human beings accept that there is a diversity of outlooks, opinions and backgrounds. Do you expect everyone to have the same way of thinking as you and get stressed if they don't?

vote AfD nowadays

So there you go, diversity of outlooks and political opinion.

women hidden under scarfs

So what? Does women's clothing trigger you?

their stone age religion

Late Iron Age, like Christianity, also a Middle Eastern faith.

anti-semitism, the most women-hostile, the most anti-queer behaviour

So people being socially conservative is a problem for you? Avoid parts of Bavarian, Austria and the Netherlands.

who never will give up all their cultural traditions

People create new ones, and the Germans of Turkish descent that I see in your city seem very nicely settled.

not only ignorant of how they are already doing this to a large degree, it also ignores the limit of what they can do.

It's very true. The west was keen enough to share the medicine that led to a longer life and a reduction in infant mortality, but rather less interested in sharing the industry and jobs. If an impossible task is dumped on a poor country that can barely manage anyway, the problems will always increase.

north Afrika

North Africa is more a destination for refugees and other migrants than it is a source.

It rarely is.

global mass movement

Will only increase.

Why not?

The best one I ever had was in Berlin. Nothing else came even close.

For me, the best was in Yorkshire. The shop was run by Greek Cypriots and they made the doner meat themselves in the shop, full of fresh thyme. Sadly, the shop's long gone. The other good ones were in the Middle East.

There's a decent one in Warsaw, next to Biedronka on Heroldów, run by an Iraqi guy. His are maybe the best I've seen in PL.

Some kebab shop

"Some"?

A nice kebab with carbohydrates, meat, salad and spices is generally much better food than the stodge of the fast/snack food that was around before it. Słonina anyone?

kebabs in Poland are truly foul

Lower quality than good ones, however yes, expectations around food are sometimes low in PL as are budgets, and tastes can tend towards the bland. That will change though, just as tastes always change over time.

Isn't that what has been scientifically proven?

No. Why do you think that?

Although people may visit ethnic restaurants, those meals will not become a part of their staple diet

You've not been in Biedronka for a while then.

and integrate into the local kitchen, you

The local cuisine?

Why would you «truly embrace and integrate into it"? People eat what they like.

As an ex-nomenklatura kid, you may well agree with the characters in the PRL who said that it was bad for people to eat fruit and other things that don't originate in their own country (spectacular opium and did they think apples originate in Europe ?) however food has always been e lactic, new ideas, new flavours new methods, and this is largely to do with supply chains and people's tastes.

globalist

The world is a globe.

most migrants that end up in Germany end up sucking at the states teat

Maybe you continentals are different, however where I'm from, among the male workforce, migrant men are statistically more likely to have full time jobs than white men.

you talking about license and some things like that

The people talk about it.

is why I said you don't need to pay tax and you don't need license to sell it while you with your bare hands

So what then happens when you become ill, go to hospital, and have to wait all day because they're short of nurses? Or you're walking home and get robbed because there's not enough police? Or you fall over on the pavement because there's no money to repair it?

You won't need to pay tax for them too

If you sell products that are taxable, you do need to pay tax.

You also need a licence to sell tobacco products.

Yes, these are fake ones. Like I said, these are in Zyn box.

So no quality control, and basically stealing intellectual property from the manufacturer.
