they are all "dodgy"

Ost of them yes. The owners are often tax avoiders living abroad.

There are three fairly respectable ones, all broadsheets, only one of which, The Guardian, can be called independent, and of the tabloids, only the Mirror doesn't have questionable ownership.

seldom has anything news worthy that the rest of the world would be interested

Yet you, the coffin-dodger and a couple of other bin-diving nomarks find plenty there that is newsworthy.

News / Why should Poland consider pursuing a strategic alliance with Russia? [366]

I am fairly certain that slavs originate

We all originate from somewhere near the Rift Valley in what is now Kenya.

Nobody came down from:the trees and started walking upright in Europe. We are all of us African.

NATO

It's very safe to say that if we held a referendum tomorrow and it was orc-proofed propaganda-wise, there would be a massive one to remain in NATO.

Poland had several "specialisations".

All countries to an extent do, however Comecon's attempts to force or prevent certain industries in the countries it tried to dominate were a failure.

News / Poland's aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 23 [1012]

Indeed.

There have been plenty of indications that he was a Soviet and then a r*SSian asset and that they were involved in his several times bankrupt real estate businesses so it is likely to be far far worse than just watersports with Melania or some other prostitutes.

stop the depopulation of Europe

I doubt religion had anything to do with it and rights/respect (fùck 'tolerance') for sexual minorities certainly has no relevance to this.

Poland and Italy are fairly religious but both have plummeting populations.

without importing

Your own ancestors came to Europe from Africa.

For Russia we would be in top 3 most important allies

We wouldn't. We would just be a satrapy of them as it was years ago.

Westerners in general are not to be trusted

You are a westerner.

leftists, masons

Very good. Rightwingnuts have tried to destroy Europe twice and live off your money.

Without Masons like Cardinal Podolski, Janusz Korczak, half the WW2 generals and Kościuszko, Poland would be a worse place.

If Europe went to completely net zero

+1

It gets on my títs that they use so much marine fuel importing hydrocarbons from the global south rather than maxing out out own North Sea reserves while we can and providing jobs for workers and tax revenue.

I do too but the public transport over here is absolutely shocking. Don't even bother trying to catch a train on weekends

It's sort of a post code lottery. Where I am there it's pretty good for local and express trains and our Labour regional mayor (coronation street's Tracy Brabin) has forced fare caps (was £2 max with a £7 max a day total but now going up) and insisting service level agreements are kept by the privatised bus companies and will take them back into council ownership soon.

That's why it is vital to detach ourselves from any international organisations promoting tolerance

What cobblers.

so we are not even in Top 10!

Why would you/we be?

the necessity of Polish-Russian alliance

There isn't one. Very much the opposite. There is however a proven and verifiable need for alliances against r*SSia.

News / Why should Poland consider pursuing a strategic alliance with Russia? [366]

I don't think so.

It wouldn't, however any relation with the USA is less likely to be violently exploitative.

For America we are behind at least 8 countries in importance (UK, Australia, Taiwan, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Turkey).

Is that a bad thing? Poland isn't Japan, Britain or Canada. It's a country of 38 million and falling, riddled with r*SSian assets in its public sector and with high levels of corruption. EU and NATO membership have so far served Poland fairly well.

For Russia we would be in Top 3 most important allies.

Top three most exploitable Trojan Horses.

I don't believe the fairytale about bad governments repressing good people for hundreds of years....

With a few notable exceptions (usually due to electoral structures or economic hegemonies) countries tend to get the governments they deserve.

Poland to come to terms with ******

A good point, but what do you mean by 'come to tems'? Any 'friendly alliance' is deeply asymmetrical and out of the question.

Is it not better to use democracy within the EU to blunt Germany and France's hegemony and use the EU as a bulwark against r*SSia?

child slaves in California grow farms

Hopefully the farmers or corporations involved )and any supermarkets that buy their products without checking the conditions they're farmed under) will face very serious criminal charges and that the exploited workers/child slaves will be treated decently and with compassion, not handcuffed or detained etc.

It wasn't even in the quality papers.

Besides, only in a large city would it be possible to live without one.

I'd love to get rid of ours and just hire one now and again if needed. Especially since it's mostly gathering dust.

I hate driving, especially in built up areas and the other person who drives it is much the same. We're stuck with it for another two years though.

We're about 15/20 minutes walk dfrom the end of the metro and it's a shame the metro doesn't go two stops further.

nonsense title.

Yep.

It's trashy, tacky and is a thread title made up by a Katsap.

Having said that, there are quite a few dreadful thread titles here.

News / How will Trump's trade tariffs affect Poland? [74]

No need. We've got a good administration in office now after 14 years of misrule. They'll,be there for at least 9 years and those 9 years will be a time of great change.

he is just an idiot.

That is precisely what he is, and it begs the question who is actually running things there.

It's sad when someone goes so young.

Especially for the parents.

He had a troubled life; may he now be at peace.

the problem is the same

Wait until AI kicks in.

Working from home and doing 4 day weeks annoys those of us who for various reasons can't, however the more AI develops, the more this will happen and perhaps the clever organisations are the ones that are already ditching their big offices and moving to task based work.

The government earns more then it spends on the monarchy

That's right. The revenues from the Crown Estates are paid in full to the government who give a portion of it back to cover expenses.

And then there is the scuttle

A coal scuttle?

Do you mean a parental discussion about which school a kid goes to? Nothing unusual and nobody's business except the kid's parents. It's nothing to do with the gender of the kids in school; it's simply a choice between Eton and Marlborough, which is nearer to which of their homes and a few other considerations.

They are funded for a reason, $180 million for a government is peanuts.

Especially since having a president costs the yank taxpayers $1.6 billion a year

Ever tried bringing a 5 person weekly shop back on public transport with a toddler in tow ?

Many do. And now supermarkets deliver. Or get an Uber back.

Shoved your kids out at 7.30 to walk to kindergarten in the snow and dark ?

Put them on the school bus.

Rushed someone to the doctor from your suburb on public transport with a couple of changes

We generally have a liquid lunch after and get an uber back.

Yes. Which is why the rich should be taxed more to provide first class public transport.

This, btw, should only apply to towns. Unless you're disabled or have a specific job like Social Worker or Community Nurse, you don't need a car in a big city.

Life / Will Poland ever be multicultural like Sweden, Germany or France? [283]

Hassidic

It's better to say Haredi.

Not all Haredi Jews are Hassidim (some are Yeshivisher) and not all Hassidim wear special clothes.

unfortunately, while they're first in line for any kind of welfare they tend to not contribute much to the econom

Am old friend from university is a Hassidic Rabbi. He doesn't wear special clothes or have a beard and before entering the Rabbinate had a very good job. His synagogue is in the posh part of town so I'd guess his congregation work pretty hard.

News / Poland's aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 23 [1012]

how the Ukrainians outwit the Russians. The drones in this video had no GPS and used old tech to find their targets and then used AI to hit them

We've just bought a 3d printer to make drone blades with. Hopefully plenty of Orcs will have their faces burnt off by drones partly made in our living room.

Never underestimate the resolve of Ukrainians. They have all the deviousness of Orcs but with the intelligence of Poles, the discipline of Austrians, the ferocity of Cossacks and the complexity of Ottoman Turks.

Look in the mirror.

Happily. And I see truth.

Not the never ending stream of propaganda from a 'federation' that spends more on online propaganda than most developed countries spend on health and social welfare.

Yeah, you have to move your fat ar$e and do some work for a change.......

I'm still laughing that he thinks a delivery issue to a handful of small petrol stations in the suburbs of Lincoln will cause petrol prices countrywide to "pop for sure " whatever that means...

Did you know that Poland has the highest car density in Europe?

I'd be delighted if (not only in Poland) it was illegal to own a private vehicle unless you have somewhere off the road to park it.
