UK, Ireland / Advantages of living in Poland as opposed to the UK. [126]

I must agree with NMP with the food thingy. Not enough variation in Poland, everything was a little bland (not the cakes though) and the cheeses should technically never be called cheese. Buy gouda...taste's of plastic factory cheese as it hasn't been allowed to mature. Buy Edamski...tastes of gouda, buy any cheese and it will all taste of gouda. Im sure its the same farmer making it all :)

Advantages of Poland.
1. Well the people are less class opinionated.
2. Family traditions are stronger.
3. A lot less dangerous, you can go to the pub and not get into unprovoked fights.
4. (For me anyway) life style is generally more laid back.
5. Young people go for coffee ect, as opposed to here where the weekend consists of getting "sh1t-faced".
6. Hobbies, people actually spend time trying new things.
7. Earnings, they go a lot further than in the UK. (My average spend in UK towards bills, food ect is about 70% of my earnings, where as in Poland it would be about 30%)

8. It's much easier to go away on holidays. For example just to go to one of the Islands in Scotland for the weekend would cost me about £500, in Poland I could drive and stay in a hotel for a week for the same amount of money).

I can think of more but maybe I'm getting a bit homesick :/

Were you born in Poland? Do you have Polish parents or grand-parents? Have you lived in Poland for at least 5 years? Or do you play professional football and need a team to play for?

Probably it was a political comment and that cartoon was set in some context not clear for you as a person who was not up to date with current affairs. Simple?

It wasn't him, it was his wife who showed him it in her disgust.

I've never said that Irish men are not good-looking.

There is a saying for Irish women, that they are the most beautiful in the world but they are also the most boring. I must say that i found this to be the case but I was living in the deep darkest countryside:/

btw she was really pretty before she became a model. She had to lose lots of weight, so now she is really skinny and look very frail and unhealthy.

Yeah, shame as I dont like to see really skinny girls, they look really unhealthy.

You might dump her though ;)

Like I said, I wouldn't get involved with someone who has had a lot of sexual partners ;)
Just a personal preference though. My best mate (a lass) is a bit of a bike but I love her to bits anyway :D

It's far better to have someone experienced, anyway ;)

Then where's the fun of teaching ;):P

Practice? What do you need to practise for? I wasn't aware of any competitions :) Don't you generally train with the same training partners? ;) What is your goal in practising?

Tongue and cheek my lad ;)

So if you would find a nice girl who you'd like and if you happen to know that she used to sleep with lots of men you would dumb her?

I would know that info before I had any relationship with her ;) I certainly wouldn't dumb her :P

Some women of every country are, dave. Btw why men can sleep with lots of women and woman who sleeps with lots of men is a s-l-u-t???

Exactly, so its a stupid argument. I dunno why some women are called sluts, I just know I wouldn't like to be with any of them.

That's a fair point, Zeti. It's called hypocrisy. You wouldn't want to sleep with many men anyway, would you? What's the point?

Practice? ;)

so before you didn't appriciate scottish girls or they just changed within few years?

Before I did, but I had been away for a long time ;)

Oh, now you mean that polish women are easy, don't you?

Some are yes.

Why are you all posting stupid pictures of attractive women?? Is it so bad these days that no one can walk outside their houses and LOOK??

( I have no idea what the world is turning into...)

I can't help thinking that a lot of the hatred towards English women on here is from foreign guys who have been turned down by them a lot.

Exactly ;) When I returned to Scotland I was expecting the fat orange brigade of lassies, but I was happy to find many attractive Scottish lassies. Though that didn't stop me from having a Polish gf!! :D

Grodzka

Prozac???

There are some brilliant bars in the Jewish district which is a considerable way from the main Rynek..but again no problems..

They are quite touristic now like. though still retain their charm :)
Oh I miss my lazy Sunday afternoons sipping a pint on Plac Nowy :(

I wonder if that place has any regular customers.

It is strange, cos I have very fond memories of this place and I have never had any bad experience but I guess its cos the bar staff and door staff knew us all. It was the very first place I kissed my ex fiance on the night before new years eve after she came back from her home town to tell me she wanted to be with me :)

So I'm thinking all this crap started around summer last year with the Saxon Club.

Hyea guys. Just a heads up that I should have said earlier but it must have slipped my mind. In Krk all bars and clubs are obliged to display a "menu" or price list of the drinks they are selling in the bar. So always make sure that you have a look when buying, if cant see one, you can always ask at the bar for it ;)

Saxon Club on Św Tomasza Street.

Yep, this is the place I was helping a couple of English journalists from Warsaw investigate. They wrote an article soon after.
