Life / Are Polish Women very promiscuous towards foreigners and refugees? [197]

Lyzko, don't answer.

If he doesn't answer those 4 questions, it will mean he was making stuff up. That will mean he's a spineless liar. It's up to him if he wants to be seen as such or not.

If you are curious, you can google it, Paulina.

I'm not asking him about some kind of general information that can be googled. I'm asking him about his personal experience in case you haven't noticed.

You know you are dealing with a troll. ?

I don't think Lyzko is trolling (he's not that type). I think there's something wrong with him... He's not behaving like a normal person would. Maybe he's a toxic person or sth. I had some objections concerning his behaviour in the past, but I would usually give it a rest, because it was often minor stuff. But this time I decided to dig deeper and... woah... it really came out in this thread... 😳

I know what you mean, Gregory!

Still no answers to my questions?
Is Ironside right about you, Lyzko? Are you trolling? Because you defenitely don't behave like a responsible adult.

Lyzko, why won't you answer my 4 simple questions?

By stubbornly repeating his theses, he hopes to tire the other side

"Trafiła kosa na kamień" then, because I can be tireless if needs be :), and I won't let Lyzko get away with writing bullsh1t.

Why so defensive here, people?

LOL 🤦

Lyzko, what you're doing right now is called "gaslighting".

We're not being "defensive", we're telling you the truth. And you not only refuse to accept the truth from people who know more about life in communist Poland than you do, but you also started simply lying.

Do you have no shame?

Makes me wonder whether you're generally lying in this thread. If you didn't lie then you should have no problem with answering my 4 simple questions:

https://polishforums.com/life/women-promiscuous-towards-foreigners-refugees-81405/6/#msg1919195

Answer them, please.

Oh, but I have.

No, you haven't answered my 4 questions!

I asked her for her "sources" and she refused and so I'm
supposed to reveal mine??

No, you didn't ask me for any sources, you liar!
Despite that I explained it to you anyway that life in PRL times is well documented, it's not something that happened hundreds of years ago lol There are articles, books, films, documentaries about that period and people who lived in those times share what it was like to live under communism. I also wrote to you that I can easily find you an article about prostitution during communist times in Poland, but you didn't even ask me to post a link to such article. It looks like that you're the one who doesn't want to know the truth.

Honestly, Lyzko, I didn't think that you will stoop so low and that you will resort to lying. I don't think that you realise how badly this reflects on you. And that you fail to answer my 4 questions.

You don't have to "reveal" your sources by giving names and surnames. I only asked you how many "anti-Communist defectors from Poland" you have met in your life and how many of them said what you claim they said and what they said exactly. Why won't you answer that?

Lyzko, answer my 4 questions or you will compromise yourself completely:

https://polishforums.com/life/women-promiscuous-towards-foreigners-refugees-81405/6/#msg1919195

You present yourself as a man of science and you want us to prove negative?

Exactly. We shouldn't be forced to "prove" the negative in the first place. He made those claims and so it's on him to back them up with something. He could at least answer my 4 questions about how many Poles told him what exactly, but it looks like he isn't capable of answering even such simple questions.

I'm starting to suspect that Lyzko's only source were those drunk women he probably met one evening (and that's why he doesn't want to "reveal his sources", because that's all he has - those drunk women) and we don't even know what they told him exactly either.

@maf, was that candy bar Polish?

a genuine question....what's going on in that scenario?

Well, I don't know this guy and don't know what was going on in his head, so I can only guess. He wasn't a car mechanic, so why would he take money for that? I guess he did them a favour... Maybe he was simply a nice guy. He didn't want any money, but your friend gave him something anyway, which was a nice gesture and so he appreciated it.

Also, I'm guessing foreigners/Westerners (and your friend was an American at that!) were probably still pretty rare/"exotic" for Poles in those times, so people might have been more likely to get out of their way to help them out, I think.

And if you want to look at it from the PRL perspective of some "shrewd" person, I guess - maybe he hoped that one day they'll return the favour and help him out with something too. But since he took that candy bar - such scenario seems unlikely to me.

Btw, believe it or not, there are Poles who feel nostalgic about PRL times, because, as they claim, "people were nicer back then, they were helping each other", etc.

So Paulina is being quite generous with her percentages.

I did add 1% option :))

Sometimes referred to as "Servants of Venus" (Służebnice Wenery).

Or "panie lekkich obyczajów" ;) That's how my mother called one woman who was a prostitute and got arrested and forced by the authorities to work in the factory where my mother worked during communist times (prostitution was illegal in PRL). My mother said that this woman was wearing "cat-eye" eye make-up to work (I guess that must have been pretty unusual among the female factory workers, or my mother wouldn't bring that up lol) :)

Life / Are Polish Women very promiscuous towards foreigners and refugees? [197]

@Lenka, exactly. I myself criticised my parents' generation (my own parents included) on this forum and I wondered aloud if their mentality can be attributed to the fact that they were raised in communist times. To which pawian and I think Alien responded that yes, it can be.

...Polish people who grew up and lived there, who therefore have every reason to want to deny such every existed.

But... those drunk Polish women you talked to also grew up and lived in Poland during communist times... Do you think that people who grew up and lived during communist times, but stayed in Poland never get drunk? lol

They denied that Nazi persecution of Jews was even at issue, denying the truth until the very end

But Poles don't deny the realities of communist times in Poland. On the contrary. You seem to be forgetting that the communist system was imposed on Poland, it wasn't "ours", unlike in the case of Nazi Germany. That's one of the reasons why Poles have no problem with criticising that system and the realities of those times and with pointing out and criticising any remnants of that system in Poles' mentality. Also, lots of Poles love to complain about Poland, Poles and life in general - apparently that's our "national sport" :) So you really missed the mark here :))

Now let's accept that it once did and leave it at that.

Oh no, no, no, no, Lyzko... You won't get it out of this so easily! :))) You still haven't answered my questions:

https://polishforums.com/life/women-promiscuous-towards-foreigners-refugees-81405/6/#msg1919195

Please answer them or I'll be free to state that you're talking out of your ass :]

Where does a person such as I glean their information? From thin air?!

That's a good question and I keep trying to "elicit" answers from you concerning that. I asked you to answer 4 simple questions twice and you ingored them every time. As we say in Poland: "Do trzech razy sztuka" lol, so I'm going to try again - could you kindly answer the following questions?:

1. How many "anti-Communist defectors (man or woman)" from Poland have you met in your life?

2. Did those defectors (and how many of them) claim that Polish women had to prostitute themselves in order to survive during communist times in Poland?

3. How common was it for Polish women to prostitute themselves to officials in order to survive during communist times according to those "defectors"? How many Polish women did that? 90%? 70%? 50%? 20%? 10%? 5%? 1%?

4. Did they give you any examples? Some real life stories? What were those?

I put those questions in bold so, hopefully, you'll notice them better this time and answer at last :)

I never thought it would degenerate so much.

Really, Alien? Were you born yesterday?

I'm sorry that it resurrected because of me.

Don't be sorry. I personally prefer to know who I'm dealing with, what people are really like and all what Lyzko is doing is showing his true colours. It's also good to see who decided to speak up against Lyzko's claims on this thread and which PF users didn't.

I'm not taking part in this discussion to assist you - I simply write what I think and know.

Cuz I have dealt with them.

How many of them? Do you realise how many RuSSian women there are in RuSSia alone? lol

Been there 3 times and 4th time drove there from Warszawa to Moscow

Brilliant, Lyzko visited Poland for a week or two as well some years ago and he knows all about Polish women and Polish society and Polish history too, as you can see ;D

You are guessing totally wrong then.

Could you elaborate?
Paulina

Life / Are Polish Women very promiscuous towards foreigners and refugees? [197]

Most money hungry ones are.

How do you know? Have you ever lived in RuSSia?

1999 to 2002

No wonder then - the 90's were really bad in RuSSia and I'm guessing in other post-Soviet countries too. Worse than in Poland.

So most coming outta rooski land are,ask the people is South east Asia and middle east also.

Most women coming from RuSSia are what exactly according to you? Strippers? Prostitutes?

And I don't have to ask people in South East Asia and Middle East. I'm guessing that they have the same stereotypes about RuSSian women as people in the West have about Polish women. And I know where those stereotypes came from and that they don't pertain to the majority of women in any country.

I'm no more incapable of admitting that I'm wrong than you are of admitting that you too can be mistaken, Paulina!

It doesn't seem like it, to be honest. You seem to be very stubborn and arrogant. Maybe also prejudiced.

if you don't agree with something the other person is arguing, then THEY and they alone must be wrong.

Lyzko, please notice that I am not the only person that disagrees with you in this thread :)

The following people disagreed with you, beside me: Lenka, mafketis, Alien, Bobko, Novichok, Ironside, johnny_reb.

Me and Lenka are both Polish women, born and raised in Poland, surrounded by people who experienced communist times in Poland first-hand. I'm going to repeat it again: first-hand experience. We know more Poles who were born and raised in communist Poland than you will ever meet in your lifetime. Novichok and Ironside are both "defectors" that left Poland during communist times. Mafketis has been living in Poland for years. Alien is Polish and Bobko is RuSSian, while you are a Jewish guy born and raised in the US, who clearly has no clue about the reality of the communist Poland and yet you behave like you know better than us.

Is that the case? Do you actually think that you know more about life in communist Poland than Poles living in Poland??

For every nay-sayer, there are those who will agree:-)

Where are they, Lyzko? Why noone agreed with your claims in this thread?

And why didn't you answer my 4 simple questions that I posted here?:

@Lenka, like Paulina, you refuse to admit the possibility of what I'm saying as the truth

You keep repeating this, but didn't you notice that you yourself refuse to admit even the possibility that what we're saying is the truth and that you may be actually wrong in drawing such far-reaching conclusions from anecdotal evidence and taking at face value what a bunch of drunk women told you?

Lyzko, why are you so convinced that it is you who is right? Where is this unwavering certainty coming from?

The moment when you wrote that people had to bribe officials and women had to prostitute themselves in order to "survive" during communist times in Poland, I knew you have no knowledge about the reality and what life looked like during communist times in Poland. It's not just about Polish women or exchanging sex for something, but it looks like you have some serious misconceptions about life in communist countries in general. Life in PRL wasn't that bad. It was sh1tty if you compare it to life in the West, obviously, but it really wasn't that bad. It's not my subjective opinion, it's a historical fact. You'd know that if you bothered to do some research and talk to Poles who were living during those times. It looks like you didn't, because if you did, you simply wouldn't make such claims.

Also, it's not only me and Lenka that disagree with you. Men don't agree with you either.

Anecdotal claims, should not require "sources".

First of all, I don't know what "anecdotal claims" are. I only know what "anecdotal evidence" is. That's all Lyzko has - anecdotal evidence. And he's drawing conclusions about Polish women and the reality of communist times in Poland just based on this anecdotal evidence. In a pretty arrogant way at that. I wouldn't mind if all he did was sharing that anecdotal evidence ("Those drunk women told me this and that. What do you think about this? Is it true?"). But he's drawing some wild conclusions based on that anecdotal evidence and he's making claims based on that anecdotal evidence. And since I know that what he claims is not true, I'm challenging him to back up his claims with something more than that anecdotal evidence.

I don't think Paulina is saying that you are lying, but merely that you are forming general opinions based on an infinitesimally small sample set of talking to "Polish dissidents".

Yes, of course. I'd go further with that though, because I don't even believe that anecdotal evidence from Lyzko. Why? Because I "know" Lyzko long enough and I know how he's capable of drawing some wild, crazy, messed up conclusions from the conservations and people's behaviour in real life. So I simply don't trust his "reporting". Because those women could say one thing and it could grow into something else in his head.

This is why I asked him those "simple questions".

Earlier you might think that Lyzko had some serious, deep conversations with numerous, various "anti-Communist defectors" about life in communist Poland. Now it turns out that he "elicited" some answers from a bunch of drunk women and took them at face value lol Who knows what more we will find out if I keep digging? :)

History / Poles should apologise to Ukrainians first [337]

Do you agree, Paulina, that Bucha was a genocide but Volhyn merely an ethnic cleansing?

As far as I understand the definitions it would depend on the intent of the perpetrators/decision makers. Volhynia massacres are a historical event already, so we have an idea what the intent was behind those massacres. In case of RuSSian soldiers/RuSSian government - we don't know what the intent was/is. In theory, judging by the genocidal remarks coming from guests/experts on RuSSian state TV and some others one could suspect that "coś jest na rzeczy". But that's not enough for me, of course. That's why in my opinion calling what happened in Bucha a "genocide" is premature. I'd say that calling it an "ethnic cleansing" would probably be premature too. For now, I think, all it can be called is "merely" a war crime and a crime against humanity.

Judging by the definitions I don't think the Katyń massacre can be considered a "genocide" either, btw. It's a war crime on a mass scale, but not a genocide.

On the other hand, I'm not an expert on this stuff or a historian and I realise that the lines between genocide and ethnic cleansing or war crimes can get blurred, so I can be wrong...

I read the article, the guy is a complete cretin.

I remember this guy, I've read an interview with him:

krytykapolityczna.pl/kraj/sierakowski-nie-jestesmy-lepsi-od-ukraincow/

I may not agree with everything he says, but I wouldn't call him a "cretin" though - he makes more sense in Polish, imho.

This was of course on another level, as you pointed out:

Nijakowski writes (...)

This kind of acrobatics I don't think I've witnessed before.

You've taken this out of context. He was explaining the difference between genocide and ethnic cleansing:

linkedin.com/pulse/difference-between-genocide-ethnic-cleansing-kagusthan-ariaratnam

"In other words, ethnic cleansing chooses to terrify a particular ethnic group, forcing them to leave a particular area in order to create a more homogenous population"

While genocide focuses on complete or partial extermination of a group of people. That's why the Holocaust is considered to be a genocide, while what Serbs did in Yugoslavia, for example, is considered to be an ethnic cleansing, as far as I understand.

He is trying to make into politicks in Poland for over 20 years

That's the first I hear of it. Where did you get that?

the stupid name of "Ukrainians"

There's nothing "stupid" about this name.

, by saying Poland must apologize to Ukrainians, for taking Ruthenian lands

Well, that's what they were called back then:

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruthenia

I wanted to show that there is zero relation between "Ruthenia" and "Ukraine"

Then there is zero relation between "Ruthenia" and "RuSSia" and "Belarus" too :)

And now on a serious note - the relation between Ruthenia and Ukraine isn't anyone's wishful thinking, but a historical fact. A quote from Wikipedia:

"Ruthenia is an exonym, originally used in Medieval Latin, as one of several terms for Kievan Rus. It is also used to refer to the East Slavic and Eastern Orthodox regions of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Kingdom of Poland, and later the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, corresponding to what is now Belarus and Ukraine. Historically, the term was used to refer to all the territories of the East Slavs, including Russia."

Neither does this make sense to Rusyns, and why they are reluctant to change their name to "Borderlanders".

Sorry, but what doesn't make sense to Rusyns exactly, according to you? That the country they're living in has a historical name? Rusyns live not only in Ukraine, but also in other countries and those countries have their names too lol They're an ethic minority in those countries. Whether they identify themselves as Rusyns/Lemkos/etc. or Ukrainians, Poles, etc. or both - that's up to every individual, I suppose.

Don't you think it is strange that to the west of Ukraine there are a people called essentially "Russians"

What are you talking about? Rusyns (in Polish "Rusini") aren't the same as RuSSians (in Polish "Rosjanie") and they're not called "RuSSians" either:

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rusyns

while their own country is named "Borderland"?

What?

and why they are reluctant to change their name to "Borderlanders".

conversations with any intelligent anti-Communist defector (man or woman) who managed to escape from that morass.

Prove it then.
If it was really SO COMMON for Polish women to prostitute themselves to "officials" or whatever in order to "survive" during communist times, as you claim, and that "any intelligent anti-Communist defector" could confirm that, then such phenomenon would surely be talked about in articles, books and documentaries about this period.

I can easily find you a Polish article about prostitution in Poland during communist times, so why do you have such a problem with posting sources to back up your claims?

You're hitting the proverbial brick wall since you will not accept unpleasant reality, Paulina!

What "reality"?? Your claims about the communist times in Poland have nothing to do with reality! Were there prostitutes in Poland during communist times? Of course there were! Was it common for Polish women to prostitute themselves during communist times? Of course not! lol 🤦

Lyzko, I see we're going in circles here, so I'm going to ask you some simple questions:

1. How many "anti-Communist defectors (man or woman)" from Poland have you met in your life?

2. Did those defectors (and how many of them) claim that Polish women had to prostitute themselves in order to survive during communist times in Poland?

3. How common was it for Polish women to prostitute themselves during communist times according to those "defectors"? How many Polish women did that? 90%? 70%? 50%? 20%? 10%? 5%?

4. Did they give you any examples? Some real life stories? What were those?

"Sources"???! Are you mad?

No, I'm not "mad" lol Are serious?? Asking for sources is more than reasonable, nothing "mad" about it :) I don't believe every bullsh1t comment some random person writes on the internet, especially considering that, unlike you, I grew up in Poland and so chances are pretty high that I know better than you.

refusal to acknowledge the unpleasant reality of the Communist past (...) truth as I see it.

Your fantasies are not "reality" nor the "truth" though lol

You simply refuse to concede that just possibly, I might be right.

I repeatedly asked you for your sources and where did you get your ideas from. Sorry, but your claims that some "Slavs" told you this or that doesn't cut it for me, especially in case of history of PRL and other communist countries, which is recorded well enough.

and I can certainly read as well as you can!

Then post some freaking sources already to back up your claims, instead of blabbing the same thing over and over again like a broken record, for God's sake! lol 🤦
