....hmmmm....if you put it this way, one could make a case for all of this war being an ukrainian guerilla war against invaders!
They can't truly compete at eye-level with the big, modern, long time prepared russian army, can't they....and the western support is not the best nor the most stable, probably never will be.

But it could very well be that this is the way of things to come for Russia, even if there might be a treaty or two in the meantime...the Ukrainians are hardy tough guys, used to crawl the mud, the Wehrmacht can tell you some stories about it.

And again the same question...endless guerilla war fired up by endless hostility becoming an endless drain on Russia, maybe for decades....is it really worth it?

You know....Germany after WWI was no nice picture either.....hence Hitler....I guess if Germany feels a real incentive....well....I guess everything would be possible!

But the core question behind all of this would be: IS IT REALLY WORTH IT?

Every european people has its historical hurts...we all have the scars to show for it. Thousands of years of warring and claiming and losing....there is no people here which doesn't have a grievance or two....Russia is no different then all of us in Europe.

Thing is....we just have to let go at some point, breaking the cycle somewhere....

Curious! That's the same reason Hitler used to build up the Nazis and invade, annex pieces of Germany's neighbours till the big war started seriously 1939!
The interwar period wasn't a pretty one for the german minorities under now foreign rule after the Treaty of Versailles and others. Not to mention the horror after 1945....

In case you have forgotten...

It hadn't been the western far right dancing on the streets, giving out free baklava to bypassers, as the first images about the murdered babies and destroyed bodies of raped women had been shown by the TV stations.

And I dunno about the US but in Germany it's the left taking to the streets along side their Pali friends, screaming "from the river to the see..." what would mean nothing else but the annihilation of Israel...no far rightist in sight!

....frankly I doubt that at all....which USian would ever forget 9/11....no one with any patriotic bone in his body, I very surely guess!
