History / Are Poles happy with the current Polish borders? [134]

because you kicked all the Germans out. Homogenous is not good since it causes inbred characteristics such as stupidity among other things, it is better to have a variety of genes. Look at the USA.

But of course, you can eat only bigos until the end of your life and watch a mediocre Polish football;)

I was sarcastic in my post :D but only to the point.

First of all the question about the borders have been asked many time in this board and since the Polish government has accepted it on behalf of Polish people I don't see a point in discussing it.

I live in Szczecin and the best thing in the city such as old buildings, parks and the city planning is a left over from the German times.

As for mixing the genes, I didn't mean it literally. Exchanging ideas creates progress, closing yourself in does not and I find that Poles in general are not open to new ideas. That is why I mentioned the US, which has the best universities in the world.

Dariusz,

as for Jews, inbreeding has nothing to do with them being educated, business savvy, but with their general will to survive and thrive in any circumstances - they are just tougher breed over all and my best professors at uni were Jewish - interested, informed, hard workers and friendly with students.

As for Polish football, I hear it is not doing so well and that is in newspapers as far as I know.

As for bigos - I love it, but I was using it as an example for the fact that Poles like everything Polish and look down on anything non- Polish. That is not a smart move, but lets Poles stick to what they are familiar with.

Look at the States for what? Ethnic diversity, yes. But, that doesn't mean people are intermarrying. Sure, enough are, but they're loosing their ethnic identity and cultural ties. Then we end up with these black people in power (be it as employer, mayor, president) and the sad part is that most of them insist on playing the race card and basically complaining for the hundreds of years of slavery (in their own ways, of course).

You have a point there. I was merely point out at the import of ideas into the US, which has the higher numbers of patents in the world.

Ethnic diversity is still a rarity in many small rural areas in America too. And they usually have better (sometimes nepotistic) communities (things actually get done instead of complaining)

I am sure you are right, but the places where ideas are generated are not rural.

quoting Polonia1:
Its Homogenous because the Germans killed off all the jews and stalin shifted the boarders. Also I guess Biology/genetics isn't ur strong point judging by ur comments.....Or maybe stupidity is a dominant genetic trait in ur family.......anyway why dnt u do somthing better w/ ur mediocre life instead.

I was sarcastic in my post, but thank you for your good wishes:D

ON topic:
Am I happy the current borders? Yes, I could be in Berlin in less then 2 hours:), which I consider one of the most interesting cities

maybe Szczecin)

it is a fine city

Plus Poland is now ethnically homogoneus as opposed to the Parrabellum time

Food / Taste of food in Poland vs other countries [186]

I think its just what we get used to, because my mom would cook some really good food and I loved it, and then someone elses mom would cook and I would not like how she prepared her food.

so true, we learn early in life that taste and then we measure everything according to that.

what the hell are they up to?

no idea.

ok! you guys need a group hug....

*...groouuup huuuggingg....! ;) ...*

yey.......:)

yeah.... :)

he, he, I am glad you agree with me:)

that's what this thread is about? ah! yeah Polish beef is quite good... even better then a TX steak... ;)

some don't see to agree;)

Spam is not real food by my books.

Anyone really, seeing as you're not able to come to terms with your own history.

yah, you explain his history to him since he is not able to grasp it lol - you are such a dork Torq- not only patronizing but also condescending, and OFF topic:)

OK fair enough - but still, if you are claiming that typical Polish cooks overcook things until they are tasteless.....?

of course they do:). If something is not boiled to death, reheated many times will not be eaten. I, on the other hand like fresh food and will not touch a soup which is older then 2 days.

Kisses and hugs ; )

ha, ha......huggin back the hard working TEFL teacher;)

Havok,

you can swear as much as you like, spam is not food - it was invented to keep the WW2 soldiers from starving and somehow ended up on the shelves - and fU too;) lol

what is done is done, look up patronizing in the dictionary;) and I am not confused - that was patronizing to assume to know what I think:)- you simply don't know and you assume, which leads in the end to patronizing posts of yours.

Jesus - in almost the same breath!

the first one is related to the generic Polish cook, who overcooks everything.

The second is related to me, who does not overcook everything. I have lived in Poland longer then you have, I actually grew up there and spend some time away from it, so I can compare.

kisses ;)

Patti,

I know they do , but still it is a long way to go to be honest. I east regular food and nothing fancy really and it has a taste, in Canada it DID NOT even though I tried organic and other things - the food production in North America has done a lot of damage to the taste.

Come to Poland :)

American butter doesn't have any taste... same as milk... :(

most stuff there doesn't have any taste, so they have to spice it up;), well, maybe some growth hormone taste;)

Polish food in general has more natural taste, therefore less spices are needed. End of;)

some posters here are quite funny.

Bigos is a good dish if it is made well, with fresh meat and well spiced.

In general Polish food is cooked for too long therefore it loses its taste.

I felt slightly adventurous one time so i bought polish spam "wieprzowa mielonka w puszce" in a polish grocery store. I almost puked when i opened it.

nobody expects spam to taste good, Polish or not. Adventure my ass;)

One of my Scottish buddies told me that in Scotland you can get arrested for being drunk in possession of a cow and any man owning more than 12 sheep must prove that he is not a 'pimp', is that true?

yes, it is, it is PF - everything written here MUST be and IS true;)

Leave the defense of Lithuanian lawbreakers to other posters in this thread (like Delphiandomine,
SeanBM, Harry or Litwinus) or risk the deterioration of mutual Polish-Ukrainian relations on PF,
and revoking the Hrubieszów Agreement. Your choice.

ha, ha.....stop being patronizing for a change, it is getting tedious.

Life / The Polish Dream - move out from Poland as fast as possible [73]

In the short term it's good but in the longterm this causes a huge braindrain in Poland.

I would agree to that, the ones who are left come to my English classes and complain that I speak too much English and they don't understand, even though it is a rare opportunity for them to be exposed to English and speak it 4 hours a week - still too much;)

I almost fell off my chair when I heard that.

Love / Why do so many Polish girls dye their hair BLACK? [124]

Polish natural hair does not look so good compared to Czech natural hair.

there is Polish and Czech hair now?

That's because they're not Polish, but American Polonia.

Different race.

you are slightly obsessed with the topic, let it go;)

USA, Canada / Can a Canadian Female Drive in Poland?? [30]

lol. I like the 'relaxing' part. It doesn't mean that you can doze off behind the wheel but the wide open expressways make it a pleasure to drive.

well, getting used to it is not the difficult, listening to my father giving me advice at every corner and turn (although he was the one who taught me driving a long time ago) could be a little annoying lol. I am guessing Polish man like to be behind the wheel at all times and if he isn't and there is a woman driving - he needs to say something;)

USA, Canada / Can a Canadian Female Drive in Poland?? [30]

Are you comfortable driving in Poland?

well, not really, the roads are pretty narrow, drivers are quite crazy, so I always get stressed when driving and it is not as much fun as it is to drive in North America, when one can actually relax on the highway.
