News / Sikorski doctrine - Eastern Europe under threat. Poland's foreign policy. [203]

Sikorski is a bored and paranoid moron if he believes that.

I don't believe - I know that this is true, Seanus, and I am not bored or a moron. Call Brussels and tell them disband NATO - since according to you NATO is paranoid too, right? Why bother? The world is all flowers and happy people, right? You lived in the region a few years and trust me, you have no idea (or pretend not to have, which is more likely) about how serious it is. Poland should keep its defense up and I would suggest on creating a regional defense system comprising local countries (the Baltic states, Belarus, Poland, Ukraine, Moldova) to ensure some degree of safety. Because if bad times come, the French who are selling warships to Russian Federations or Spain and Portugal which are very interested in the well-being of the Eastern Europe, won't come to rescue. We have to defend ourselves. And as safety of Ukraine is important for Poland, the same way safety of Poland is important for Ukraine. We both are interested - not out of love, but sober reasoning. Look back in history - this is exactly what we missed - unified defense - huge mistake of various historical figures. Think about it.

Georgian language is definitely indoeuropean! If one so easily awards independence to south Ossetians why wouldn't Russia let them unite with North Ossetians who continue to live within Russia's borders? And then what about Chechens? Did not they wish to be independent?

Exactly.

They declared independence but the Georgians wanted to continue to dominate them.

Russian Federation consist of over 80 national territories with people speaking different language, practicing different religions and having completely separate history. They are also willing to live in independent states. Why does Russia poke the nose in the Georgian state affairs while keeping other nations under its control? Russia appeared in the Caucusus as occupying and destructing force only in 1800s. It has no business to decide the unity of the Georgian state by bringing in army. Chechens declared independance in 1991 and look what Russia did to them - it bombed the whole country, set its own government there, killed and raped thousands of innocent civilians and now you want to say that it has the right to tell Georgians what to do in their own country? Total BS.

News / Sikorski doctrine - Eastern Europe under threat. Poland's foreign policy. [203]

South Ossetia declared independence in 1990. The Ossets were attacked by the Georgians. It is shameful on a Polish discussion forum for people to side with the Georgians rather than the Ossets when the Ossets are the direct descendants of the Sarmatians.

Since 19th century Russian empire occupied the Caucusus, Georgia with its Ossetia region, Chechnia, Dagestan,... South Ossetia is not business whatsoever of Russians and it is a part of Georgia. That part is not recognized by any civilized country as an independant state. What Russia is doing there? This is a state as it existed during the Soviet Union and after up to 2008 until the Russian invasion. Here is some info about how Russia conducts its business in relations to other countries (from Wikileaks):

So, Medvedev threatens other states with their country's territory just because they recognize Holodomor a genocide! Imagine now Georgia and then Russia's unsatiable need to destabilize all the regions around it by its implanted minorities and decades of occupation in the Caucasus and not only - Russia is the main culprit in pandemic instability in the whole post-Soviet space: it uses all the possible pretexts to mess, to cause conflicts and wars. Many don't see it and many (like NATO) try to look at those things through fingers because Georgia has no oil, heroine or lithium deposits like Afghanistan and Iraq - they build "democracy" in countries where no one asked them to be.

As in regards to Poland - Polish foreign ministry clearly sees the issue and does necessary steps to protect its country - with Russia on the side one can't and shouldn't ever feel completely safe.

"Ambassador Daalder acknowledged in these meetings that Germany had initiated the proposal," says another secret cable .

Nice to hear that Germany sees importance in this policy - maybe, not as important for its own immediate benefit as it is for the Baltic states, but still - very important for the future of Europe and I don't think I am overestimating here.

News / "To understand Poland you must understand Frederic Chopin" (Stratfor Friedman) [74]

Very interesting, indeed. I just remember when back in my ado years I listened to songs in English, knew nothing what they were about and still it raised various emotions, thoughts,.. Music is not detached as you said. It is a part of who wrote it as well as one who listens to it.

He may have just been running his mouth.

Seeing what times and regime he lived under it is not a surprise that he kicked the notion of emotions from his songs. Tawarishch cannot have emotions or thought besides the Party and Lenin - Stravinsky preferred, probably, to better have no thoughts to evoke in his songs.

we have to deal with it

Yes, we do.

get our own atomic weapons at last

How? It seems that neither of the present agreements or aspirations will permit us to get them. NATO-Russia alliance will prevent that from happening.

strengthen the army

Yes, this is very important. I think it is essential also to increase military trainings on Polish-Bielorus'-Ukraine axis to insure that the armies are properly coordinated in case of war. A system of defense and strategical preparations need to be set in place to prevent unexpected attack outcomes. It is tough with the political atmosphere in Ukraine and Bielorus' right now to talk about this, but there are lots of supporters of what I am saying and it is important to gradually implement these changes.

News / Sikorski doctrine - Eastern Europe under threat. Poland's foreign policy. [203]

Wikileaks unveiled Polish foreign policy in regards to its defense against potential agression from Russia as became clear after occupation of Georgian lands in 2008. It states how NATO and US are toothless dealers in the international relations when something is not profitable for their pockets - democracy is usually defended only when there is oil or opium involved. But back to the topic: Polish foreign minister Sikorski considers important to increase EU economic relation with Bielorus' and Ukraine as it will ensure democratic development in those countries and secure Polish eastern border which cannot be safe with Russian aggressor policies as seen in Georgia. Polish prime minister Tusk said in 2008 "Now do you see why we wanted the Patriot missiles and further security guarantees?" in his dialogue with US representatives. In nutshell, Poland is interested in having a buffer in-between with Russia, which is completely understandable. I wish Ukraine had a buffer on its eastern border, but it is unlikely :(

So, what is your opinion on Sikorski doctrine?

News / "To understand Poland you must understand Frederic Chopin" (Stratfor Friedman) [74]

The Chopin music I have heard is very ornate and flowery, with a lot of chromaticism.

I have never really listened to Chopin or much of classic music in general, but this summer me and a friend of mine stumbled on a Chinese guy playing some Chopin chords from a piano practice set and Wow..I was really amazed. Powerful. So, maybe, he is not that flowery, Joe :)

condemning the French for not coming to Warsaw’s aid.

The French had a revolution of their own in 1830 and very busy with economic and political instability. I don't see any sane reason for them to cross the German states (who were burning with love to the French after Napoleon's successful battles just two decades before)in order to fight with Russians. Completely unjustified expectations. Again another example - weaken your potential allies and then cry for help across the oceans - ridiculous.

I don't completely agree with Stravinsky, as certain musical devices can evoke emotions, feelings...I know this as a player and a composer.

I completely disagree with him. If music is abstract, then what is emotion? Concrete tangible thing? No, you cannot touch it or measure. So, if both are abstract, then why one cannot be represented or caused by the other. National anthems stir emotions, for example.

Love / 20% of adult Poles are single and live with Mummy! [241]

sometimes i think it will be possible when both, women and men will deliver babies....

You and your babies. Because of being reproductively designed to carry babies, you find that men have an advantage? Who is freaking out when there is no baby in a family? Men or women? Who usually wins in the courts due to the child-bearing capabilities when child's custody is disputed? Just being pregnant doesn't make you queens. Don't try to make women disabled to be on par with men. Able to open the mouths - able to go out and work on your own. Are there 20% of adult women who are single and live with Mummy? No, there are at least 80% of them, because women can bear babies. This is why they are an exception and are queens.

Love / 20% of adult Poles are single and live with Mummy! [241]

yes, spoiled by mommies entire time... then wives suffer with those "men wanna-be's"...
nothing to be proud off boys...

Men usually have to go through these two types of women in their lives: one - molding by control and natural love, the other - molding by feeding with sex crumbs and money love. Either love from these princesses, "women wanna-be's", aim for one thing only - make you a doormat. But this is not all: when you became a doormat, there will always be dissatisfaction of how well you are able to scrub the dirt from their boots. Indeed, wives suffer when you let someone else to be also using you as a rag. Moms do the same. It is a constant battle of whose doormat you are going to be. Some women can't comprehend that men care about peace and love at home, sex, beer and football only! Go buy your dresses and table-cloths and leave us in the f*cking hell alone! Are there always atomic bombs falling when two princesses are in the same room?

Interesting also that some women will cut your throat for their "mamuluskas", but they are not considered "mommies' girls". Why? Because women are "tender and more delicate" than men. Ok. So, where is the freaking equality of rights for both sexes? You want us as your rugs, then learn to give a bit of breathing way to the lungs or otherwise we might die and decompose. Whom to humiliate then? I don't think you worry too much about that either - there are plenty of rugs to step on anyway... Men are animals, as you know.

Nothing to be proud of for either camp.

Either they are under the woman's thumb or mama's boys.

Exactly. You cannot be yourself. When you disagree with your wife, then you are definitely have listened what your mother had to say about that.

History / Are Poles happy with the current Polish borders? [134]

My heart is in it but i've been to both cities and they're positive sh*tholes

If your heart was even remotedly in it, you wouldn't call them this way. If you can help out to restore the places, do it and not swear around. It is being renovated gradually on whatever costs are gathered. Unfortunately, there are no huge amounts of money like ones poured into Poland by EU, although I don't deny healthy state of Polish economy either. Usually, first to be restored are places that can bring back money - this is sad, but this is reality. Check out hotel "Leopolis" in the heart of L'viv, for example, which gives some considerable income to the city's budget as compared to what is now bookstore and museum you showed in the photo. It is beautiful, clean, restaurated and more than welcoming:

I wished it was the other way around and cultural heritage put before the entertainment, but money rule the world. Ukraine expects to get more tourists during and after Euro 2012 to support the city budget for renovations which no matter what you say are under way; langsam aber sicher :)

Since you claim about Polish enormous care of the city and its glory during Polish interbellum occupation, I found a few photos of that period:

- notice Polish words like "Gotowe Ubranie" (Ready dress) or "Budowłi.." (something connected with construction). Look carefully at the road, walls of the buildings, roofing, doors..

- what about these historical monuments? Was it the glory and care which you took of Ukrainian city? Not talking about the street and the state of the buildings themselves, did the freaking scary and out of place Polish letters had to be cemented to the wall of the educational institution and old historical monument? Love and care of the past..;)

- well...Poland brought "civilization" to the wild Ukies, as you mentioned on multiple occasions ;))))))

Genealogy / THE MEANING AND RESEARCH OF MY POLISH LAST NAME, SURNAME? [4500]

Zwierz in Polish

Indeed, quite similar.

Nathan is Hajduk or Hayduk a Ukrainian surname ??

You will definitely find this surname in Ukraine, PennBoy. Regarding its origin, I found some ethymological explanations on Wikipedia:

The etymology of the word "hajduk" is unclear. One theory is that hajduk was derived from the Turkish word haiduk or hayduk, which was originally used by the Ottomans to refer to Hungarian infantry soldiers. Another theory suggests that the word comes from the Hungarian hajtó or "hajdó" (plural hajtók or "hajdók"), meaning a (cattle) drover.[3] Indeed, these two theories do not necessarily contradict each other, as the Balkan word is said to be derived from the Turkish word haiduk or hayduk (bandit),[1][2][4] while the Turkish is in turn believed to have been borrowed from Hungarian and to have originally referred to Hungarian mercenaries who guarded the Hungarian-Turkish border.[5] Families of Croatian descent with the same oral traditions of "mountain banditry" use the surname Hidek, a derived form of "hajduk".[citation needed] The Hungarian surname "Hajdú" also comes from the same source.[citation needed]

Ukrainian variant of "hajduk" is "haidamaka". Hope it helped.

History / POLAND: EASTERN or CENTRAL European country? [1090]

But mostly it's geographically speaking.

So, what is Poland's location in relation to this point?

Locations currently vying for the distinction of being the centre of Europe include:
the small town of Rakhiv, or the village of Dilove near Rakhiv, in western Ukraine;
Bernotai, or Purnuškės, near Vilnius, in Lithuania;
a point on the island of Saaremaa in Estonia;
the village of Krahule, near Kremnica, in central Slovakia;
Suchowola, north of Białystok, in northeast Poland; and Toruń, in north-central Poland;
a point near Polotsk in Belarus.

/wiki/Geographical_midpoint_of_Europe

At least 6 countries claim to have a center of Europe within its boundaries. Poland and Ukraine claim they have 2 centers of Europe, which is amazing. But if we consider the majority's geographical location (Estonia, Lithuania, Belorus and Ukraine vs. Poland and Slovakia) than Poland is indeed in Western Europe as the center would be to its east.

Problem solved. Poland is not an Eastern European country :)

Before mediating you have to have at least two points of view to mediate, don't you? ;)

Just out of curiosity - why do you keep twisting my nickname? Does "torque" mean anything derogatory in Ukrainian? Not that I care, it's just interesting :)

Pardon, Torq, I really haven't noticed. No offense. I, probably, got it mixed with the same sounding "torque" (physics term) as you mentioned.

Lithuanians - they Polonized willfully, having recognized our superiority in all possible areas of human activity, and we welcomed them in our big Polish family (just as we would have welcomed Ukrainians, if the glorious Najjaśniejsza Rzeczpospolita hadn't fallen from the blows of three tyrants. We weren't given enough time, unfortunately.)

Sorry, but that's just gibberish.

;)))) I laughed my pants off. You killed me, Torq ;)

Demographic majority means nothing to you ?

Within a country a regional majority should have no right to invite occupational forces.

they should obey EU rules

I haven't read the article, but the main points by Flagless Pole taken from it is something to consider by both countries, Ironside, no doubt. You are getting a bit angry - it is not good for your heart. Save it for me, please, I desperately need something to pluck the feathers out from time to time :)

News / Polish Lithuanian Diplomatic War? At last. [534]

Do I sense jealousy?

No, Grunwald, it was just a little oxymoron from me: "95% tolerant Catholics speaking one language". It might indicate into the past where "tolerance" so much praised resulted in a homogenic nation. Interesting.

We were talking about the invasion of Lithuania by Poland almost a century ago and you're bringing up internal Polish government regulations regarding post-WW2 borders' shift.

Torq, what are you talking about? Poland shifted these borders itself to the East in 1920s when it occupied Lithuania and not only. So less than 25 years difference is so much significant when we talk about both countries looking into the past? I don't think so.

I can understand that you're desperate to prove your point

I am not trying to prove anything. I present an argument from the Lithuanian point of view, that's all.

Well, I guess those
people lost their property, houses and land, because of Poland's borders shift and I'd say
it's a decent gesture by Polish government to pay partial reparations to them.

Exactly, Poland like many other nations deal with the past even today, and Lithuania is not an exception. I am not a lawyer, but what I find very innervating is when just recently barbaric countries who by barbarism made their countries almost homogeneous and more stable, demand others to be extra-polite on issues of minorities which they a few decades ago were trampling like dust. Nobody says that Lithuania should be following in the same steps that Poland did in the past, but Poland should realize that the issue is not simple. That's my point.

I am very glad that one of the first things that Poland did after regaining our
independence in 1989 was sorting out the rights and privileges of our minorities
(most notably the German one.)

Well, I know about Polish ardent love, respect and limitless admiration of whatever is linked to Germany. And there are many good reasons for that, I don't argue. You bow and tremble in awe from western wind, be it even a fart whiff accidentally erupted from a western bowel, but even a scent of magnolia from the east will give you a vomiting feeling of disgust and hatred. So, "most notably the German one" is not a bit of surprise to me, Torque. But again you follow the same path of reasoning. Poland woke up 95% "tolerant Catholic" one language speaking majority which 50 years before was trying to suck out national identity from Lithuania by forced Polonization. They didn't have chance to wake up with 95% of tolerance like you. It is difficult issue and has to be dealt with understanding and patience.

to make Lithuanians realize that if they're
trying to f**k Poland, they may wake up with a big hard d**k up their arse themselves :)*

It was the only policy practiced by Poland in the past centuries - sway the d*ck in the air - as a result all Eastern European region including Poland ended up with those up their arsenals. Thank you very much, Poland, thank you very much.

Cut the crap, they willingly chose to be Polonised, and they were forcefully Russofied1

Yes, it is snowing here too.

For those of you who can't read Polish (just like Nathan can't):

:) I don't like to brag, Torque. I wouldn't say I paid too much attention to the details while reading and I don't claim to knowing Polish like you do, but again you ran too fast to make your conclusions :

This articles says about Polish claims on 20% restitution for "lost" lands in Kresy

Ok, now, please, look at both statements and tell me where I said a single thing that contradicts to what you said or what is written in the article :) Thank you, Torque :)

So, you might think, why does Nathan ask "Why do YOU still demand reparations?". You might think - "who does he mean by saying you"?

Isn't it obvious from what I said?
As BB mentioned, you may argue your cause in the EU international court. Will the decision of the court loosen the tensions whatever the outcome? No. Lithuanians need time to come back. They don't have 95% tolerant Catholics speaking one language in their country. Just understand that Lithuania after being occupied successfully by Poland and then Russia and which went through all these Polonizations and Russification schemes needs time to recover its national identity which was intentionally destroyed for at least a century. It is afraid of letting loose those who not so much ago where trempling their freedoms, language and religion. Are you surprised? I am not at least.

News / Polish Lithuanian Diplomatic War? At last. [534]

There was some Ukrainian insurgents during mid 30's attack post offices Police offices and railroads or something

Well, the Ukrainian churches were burnt or converted in 20s as well as 30s. Are the churches tanks? Eventually, it escaladed to much drastic measures on both sides. But this is another topic.

Yeah most people think Russian when somebody says he is Ukrainian

Most people think Danish or Swedish when somebody says he is from Norway. But those who have some neurons happily floating in their skulls will know the difference. The most important thing is not to go always with the brainless crowd. We live in the age of computers, TV, internet, newspapers,...If I know what is going on in Togo, Mozambique or Papua-New Guinea, though I don't live in Africa or Asia, than if a person has even minor interest in the world and, moreover, lives in Europe, he/she would know the difference between Ukraine and Russia or Norway and Sweden.

You are doing it again. You are justifying the persecution of Polish minority today, because of the invasion that took place almost a century ago.

Ok, Torq, please, explain me the following:

Kresy Mienie: zbliża się końcowy termin (grudzień 31, 2008) skladania wniosków o odszkodowania za utracone mienie na d. Kresach Wschodnich

This articles says about Polish claims on 20% restitution for "lost" lands in Kresy (ridiculous name for western lands of Lithuania, Bielorus' and Ukraine). The final date to submit petitions/applications is December 31, 2008. So, when the war has ended again? almost a century ago? So, why do you still demand some ridiculous reparations? What is interesting is that it disgracefully invites other nations to join them in that claim to make it more legitimate. If Poland can bring past into the future, I don't see why the Lithuanians cannot.

You see?! It is a difficult issue and if both sides wish to achieve something positive, there should be a middle line, which we are trying to find here by exploring step by step both sides of the conflict.

I have seen numerous times

So? There are similar Polish people in all mentioned countries and regions who would claim whatever is suitable to claim, e.g., "lost" lands or citizenship.

...if one uses A to justify B then I have no other option but to consider such
person a complete and utter retard.

Well, I have no education of your caliber, I don't argue, but still this is not the reason to hasten up with the conclusions. Let's do it again, together:

A) the invasion you're talking about took place 90 years ago.
B) Polish minority's laws are broken today.

Don't invade country which doesn't want you there unless you are prepared to face consequences like a man, not like a XXI century wuss.

Ok. Who invaded and is now crying because of the consequences? I don't see that Lithuanians complain about anything. I hear Polish side. Where, Torq, do you see me calling A to be B? If Lithuania invaded Poland and made a "happy" life for Polish people and its language, I would be on the Polish side in this issue - 100%.

Remember, were on the same side now. You didn't forget that pact we sealed some months ago. :)

I am on Ukrainian side only. But I remember what I agreed to and I am keeping my word :)

The churches were destroyed mostly because of retaliation not because of some brand idea of Polonization... Aren't you mixing two things now?

What Poland tried to retaliate for by burning churches? But again it is a part of some other topic. Regarding happy union between Poland and Hungary - then present Czechoslovakia was not an issue - look at the US and its Alaska (they have Canada in-between) and it seems not to be an issue at all :)

They wanted to create Poland into a nation-state trying to get where ever they could see Poles or somebody who talked Polish. GAAWD I hate them

I couldn't agree more.

Please, don't denigrate the terrible wartime memories of eye-witnesses

I watched some Polish "eye-witnesses" on YouTube. They recall NKWD soldiers talking to them in Russian and say that these were Ukrainian soldiers of UPA. It seems that some people have difficulty of not only learning a language, but also after decades ro be able to distinguish between the languages.

accept the fact that some of your heroes (not all of them, of course) acted like rabid animals

I accept that, but can Poland do that and stop their pathetic fight over UPA army in Europe. Beasts were both in UPA and AK armies and they are in every army in the world this very minute. But to spread BS like "136 methods of torture" or picture of brutal murders commited who knows by whom is wrong. If you go there, explore Polish bestiality first and than only you may feel justified to cry on Europe's shoulder.

No you're not :) You're taking Lithuanian side - 100%. Is that what you call "mediating" in Ukrainie? :)

You posted hundreds of arguments against Lithuania. I am trying to refresh the dialogue which became just one-sided talk. I pointed out some points for Polish minority to realize. And I am not taking sides. I just understand their position better than you might. Did you forget that Poland "cultured" me and my ancestors as you and Sokrates have mentioned. Well, as a diligent student, I am understanding what Lithuanian students feel like now and importance of their language and identity preservation. They need to recover. You cannot demand from them to start at a fresh beginning when Poland forcefully put herself into advantage.

sounds nonsensically to me

Ok. The following problem might help me express myself better: Poland loves Hungary, Hungary loves Poland, Poland loves Lithuania, Lithuania doesn't love Poland. Who out of these 3 countries should be happily married? Pilsudski went against logic here. Don't invade country which doesn't want you there unless you are prepared to face consequences like a man, not like a XXI century wuss.

yah

Hey, Aphrodisiac, nice to see you around :)

who is obviously unable to face uncomfortable truths about Ukrainian history

I am very comfortable with Ukrainian history. The only thing that really bothers me is when occupants began to cry afterwards about brutalities of the occupied lands. This simply puts me out.

The union of Lublin set border of commonwealth but also had borders between Poland and Lithuania and Poland occupied Lithuanian land after ww1 you may give excuses as to why but the fact is that Poland did invade and occupied the Lithuanian land.

Exactly.

Well, again Polish fantasy land. You just cannot let rest your wild imaginations. Nothing new on a Polish side. I even found "136 methods of torture" created by Polish kids to stir the sh*t in the adult Polish hearts. Well, it is your past-time. Let it be.

To much bullcrap here.I say "Na Wilno!"Lets get back what's our.

Learn English, son, and then you may take a tourist trip to Vilnius.

acting against the spirit of Hrubieszów Agreement.

I am used to letters, not spirit :))

and wouldn't take side
of any country acting against Ukraine

Hmmm. Nice to hear :) Me neither. I am trying to be a mediator and both Poland and Lithuania need one. And who would be a better one than Nathan ;)

against an enemy army and join it in an common country, I doubt it would be much hostility

What common country? That common country seized to exist 200 years before and Lithuanians didn't want to go to the "sweet" past in that Union. Do you blame them?

If I remember correct it was the National Democrats in power at that time and I despise them, I wouldn't behave like THAT.

You said you would behave harsher with Lithuanians than Pilsudski. I don't see the difference in the approach here.

NO they were commonwealthers which believed in a united country fighting an common enemy

Lithuanians didn't seem to appreciate it. So why don't leave them alone? But again following the betrayal of Ukrainians by Polish government in the Riga agreement, I am not suprised at all by the artificially created mutiny and betrayal of Suwalki agreement with Lithuanians. It is not the way to run business with people you want on your side. Wouldn't you agree, Mr Grunwald?

Give me some sources then I can ask BB and compare if you want.
(He loves Bismarck so much I guess he knows a bit about him)

I've read Erick Eyck's "Bismarck and the German empire" recently. But, of course, Bismarck is incomparable. Pilsudski, maybe, wanted to try to run political manipulations that the Chancellor in his time did, but he just couldn't realize that Bismarck was uniting Germany and Pilsudski wanted to Polonize multiple non-Polish lands and people. But again Pilsudski had his Kulturkampf in Ukraine by banning schools, destroying churches etc. discussed already in some other topic. Pilsudski had even bigger moustache than Bismarck and when you look at a picture of Otto (in uniform) and Joseph (when he is with an eagle at his back), you barely can tell the difference. Quite some in common :)

P.S. Since Poland wanted so much to be a big happy family with Lithuanians (even though, they didn't), why Poland didn't turn to its best of the best friend - Hungary - with which as it said often by Polish people "Hungary and Poland - two brother-pals when it comes to war or drink"? Interesting. I hope Torq who has some biased expertise not only in the Ukrainian army matters might shed some insight on this valuable observation.

Should the members of German minority in Poland board the first train to Germany?

If they pronounce will to be part of Germany - yes! Because these people treat what is not solely theirs as private property. If they want to be in Germany - take your suitcases and get out. I hope not many Polish people disagree with me on this issue. Read attentively to what I said:

It is still Lithuanian and happiness of those residents to be a part of Poland they may easily express on board of Vilnius-Poland one-way train.

I have decided not to treat your activity in this thread
as breaking the Hrubieszów Agreement

I re-read the Hrubieszow agreement and didn't find any trespasses on my part. If you see my wrong, please, indicate which part I crossed.

Please do not exhaust the trust credit you have
and cease your anti-Polish posting.

Where have you seen any anti-Polish sentiments, Torq? Pilsudski himself confessed his direct involvement in the mutiny and all the military brouhaha which ended in the annexation of Lithuania. Did he lie? Regarding Lithuanian language - it needs time and Lithuanians of Polish origins, not being even immigrants, but 100% citizens should apply a bit more respect to THEIR land, which is not Poland. "Kresy - Utracone ziemie" is my ridicule of similarly named Polish sites which spread international hatred and by the number of subscribers clearly indicate that it is not 10 crazy people out there spreading it.

Mind you - I've recently read an article about... you know what... in a very respectable newspaper, by internationally recognized Polish journalist, but I decided not to post it, as that might be interpreted as breaking the Hrubieszów Agreement.

Again, the Hrubieszow agreement concerns itself with UPA-AK issues, not Lithuania and its Polish minority. If you are interested in signing another one which would mean other areas of history, I will be glad to work on them as well.

Please show the same restraint as I did, and do not interfere in Kresy related threads. Thank you.

Woooow...:) Torq, Torq... Are you trying to silence me up by making a thread about Ukrainian insurgents of UPA written by some world-renowned Polish journalist. Go ahead. Don't restrain yourself. Do what you have to do, but don't blackmail me so ingraciously. Polish Forums is a forum, not a dictatorship of "correct" thoughts. + as we both signed in Hrubieszow agreement - we are for Polish-Ukrainian committee to learn the history of those times in our mutual past. The key is to learn, not pour dirt on absent from this site Lithuanians who cannot, therefore, defend their position.

Let's say they will be allowed to speak Polish during breaks. Wow.

So, basically, you lied. Well, thanks, good to know. Think of something new to smear Lithuanians and then wow again. I seem to like it.

Their position from the begining is: Poles deserve it.

It is definitely not their position. Some Polish people have to understand what it is like. Look at Poland - you have 99% Catholics and around that of Poles. Does it tell you about your country's policy in the past? I think it does - moreover, that there are a lot of boasting about tolerance in the Commonwealth politics. Today, you boast that you are so open to put Lithuanian signs for some Polonized, Catholicized village inhabited by Poles of Lithuanian ancestry who after decades of "tolerance" are so interested in your signs! Good for you. You can afford it. They understandibly cannot. I wish to see how Poland would have behaved today if it was 50% Catholic, 26% Russian Orthodox and 24% Swedish Protestant? You would be singing another song. So, please, step back and look into the root of the problem. Put yourself in their shoes. Why do you always seem to view everything from your own point of view. I don't argue that there should be a dialogue and compromise can be achieved, but understand them.

any argument worth its salt is capable of forensic scrutiny.

Nice words.

News / Polish Lithuanian Diplomatic War? At last. [534]

Nathan when I said occupied Lithuania I ment the part which was inhabbited by Lithuanians which spoke Lithuanian and was anti-Polish

Did they come to Warsaw with an army? Why anti-Polish? Because they hated your guts for annexing their capital? How bad of them. Why do Poland is so indignant with so-called partitions? You should have loved when Prussia, Austria and Russia took away the lands which Poland itself unlawfully occupied. But hey, you don't love it. Then why expect love from Lithuanians when your army is on their lands?

What difference does it make that Poles settled in huge numbers in Lithuanian capital? It is still Lithuanian and happiness of those residents to be a part of Poland they may easily express on board of Vilnius-Poland one-way train.

I say good one but still just because one wavers the flag it doesn't mena it wasn't an occupation.

Just because there was no significant resistance from Lithuanians at the time when Poland broke 2 days ago signed international agreement in Suwalki doesn't mean that Poland behaved in just and noble way, did it?

The thing was there was so very few (almost none) Lithuanians speaking Lithuanian and feeling an bond with the newly formed Lithuanian republic that they didn't even surrender, they just got over flooded by civilians gretting the Polish division(s)

So who were those pervs who were not able to speak Lithuanian while being Lithuanians? People who have no respect for the language of a country they are living in have no say in similar matters at all. And Poland broke multiple laws. Pilsudski read too much of Bismarck, I think.

But we should never forget about Poles who, despite persecution, first Soviet and then Lithuanian, stayed there after WW2.

Quite some time to learn the language :) Why did those guys need translation of Vilnius into Wilno and stick it to the bus against the law? Pawian, you know that Lithuanian language was treated like sh*t, especially by Russians. It needs to recover from the centuries of unjust oppression. Language is the essential force of national renaissance and they need to set, maybe, harsh by 21 standards rules to let it get back to the level where it is supposed to be as a state language. By antagonizing the authorities you seem not fully agree with Vilnius as being Lithuanian. And many Poles think that way - you can't deny it. When they undo whatever foreign occupations by Poland and Russia did, they will definitely loosen the grip. You can't expect that country after centuries of being kicked in the b*tt will just let Polish language run loose in their country, especially in settled heavily by Polish settlers region who still cherish some sinful thoughts like much of their Poland's counterparts. My word to Polish Lithuanians - Learn the language of the country, respect the country you live in by speaking it, is this so hard?

Polish children are not allowed to chat in Polish between classes,

That's outrageous - provide me with a link, please, but not from newspaper "Kresy - Utracone ziemie" ;)

How can they be occupied when they fought to so that they will be in Poland?!

In 1793, deputies to the Grodno Sejm, last Sejm of the Commonwealth, in the presence of the Russian forces, agreed to Russian territorial demands.

History / Prophesy - Poland from sea to sea. [57]

this isn`t interesting. Please, do favor to yourself and never try to fascinate your girl with some of your jokes or you would look like complete moron

PF is my girl and I don't care what she thinks of me as long as she shows a bit of affection.

i speak of Poland on three seas. Minimum

I would stop on six: the Atlantic too can be called a sea if necessary and the Northern Sea is not that far to consider as an option

Ironside will see to it, I am sure.

ABC countries (Adriatyk, Bałtyk, Czarne.)

Or ChABi countries :) Great thought, Torq. It would be a powerful voice, no doubt, and not only in Europe.

History / Prophesy - Poland from sea to sea. [57]

But would the folks between Poland and the Black Sea be as keen?

What a kind of question is that? The answer is so obvious. It is as if to ask a Serb whether he wants his country to be a part of Albania. Of course, would be his answer. Serbians die to see it happen and I pray that their wishes come sooner than later. There then would be less big mouths on the internet and a guy from Tirana will be writing his posts under the name of Sorrë.

History / Prophesy - Poland from sea to sea. [57]

Ever heard about Wieliczka and Bochnia salt mines?

I just wanted to make some money for my countrymen of the mania de grandeur of some ;)

So, what else do we need in order to become a world power? :)

What else does the prophecy say besides "from sea to sea"? If there is something from "land to sky" mentioned, I have a few great ideas ;) It might even speed up the process of the hole-digging ;)

Prophesy - Poland from sea to sea.

Poles have only one thing left to do: dig the huge hole in the ground somewhere near Krakiw, buy some salt from Ukraine, wait for rain and voila: from sea to sea in all its beauty ;) As a matter of fact, you might even make an island of your country and plant some palm-trees ;) Can you imagine tourism hype? Dubai in the middle of Europe! Come and take a cruise within a continent! ;0
