Children, children... you think you're ready for the Polish language pronunciation? :)

Krżyżanowski (rus. transl. Кржижано́вский) is correctly pronounced Krʒy-ʒa-nov-ski, where "ʒ" is the consonant sound in English 'measure' or 'pleasure', and "y" has no English equivalent but it's close to the first "y" sound in 'mystify'. The "Krʒy" cluster may be a bit difficult for foreigners but that's the point. :)

News / Polish PM Tusk- dictator or not? What Poles think? [455]

egomaniac and a known liar

You use such nasty words, Gumishu.

He simply appreciates and respects himself and sometimes has to make tactical changes in his current discourse (as any politician is bound to).

Polish-Serbian Brotherhood: 2024

In the photo we can see Serbian and Polish hooligans of Voždovac Belgrade and Łomżyński KS celebrating Serbian-Polish brotherhood during a game between Bačka Topola and FK Voždovac.

And after the game...

... Poland and Serbia - Northern and Southern Guardians of Intermarium.

News / Polish PM Tusk- dictator or not? What Poles think? [455]

Tusk is enigma to me.

For me it is enough that he considers Aleksandar Vučić to be his friend. As he said in his speech in Belgrade (delivered in Serbian language)...

I am standing here next to my friend and your President, Aleksandar Vučić. A flesh and blood Serbian, to be more Serbian than him is impossible. (...) I see a soul mate in him (...)

consilium.europa.eu/en/press/press-releases/2018/04/25/remarks-by-president-donald-tusk-after-his-meeting-with-president-aleksandar-vucic-of-serbia/

... very strong Kashubian-Serbian-Polish-Sarmatian current of blood flowing here.

Remember, Crow, when Polish and Serbian dicks cooperate, there is no arsehole in the world that they cannot f*ck. Serbia will be the southern guardian of Intermarium and Poland the northern one - always and forever as it should be.

From Poland with kisses: 1974

This charming photo which looks like a modern-day dziubek selfie was actually taken half a century ago in Wrocław. The name of the woman in the photo is probably Natalia (see the bottom right corner) and she made this lovely dziubek for us before it was fashionable.

History / Russian Greatness - and its Polish Contributors [77]

Poles have made crucial and formative contributions to the development of Russia as a modern state.

It worked both ways, of course. Poland remembers Nadzieja O'Brien de Lacy princess Drucka, Aleksander Ford, Paweł Akimow, Konstanty de Lazari, Oleg Zakirow, Natalia Gałczyńska or Igor Newerly, but one doesn't have to go back in time to appreciate the contribution of people with Russian roots into Polish science, culture and politics. Igor Czerniawski, Maria Żuk, Robert Terentiew, Aleksandra Strunin, Maryla Rodowicz, Karol Modzelewski, Piotr Ikonowicz, Julia Hartwig, Magda Gessler, Piotr Gąsowski, to name just a few, all contributed/are contributing to the greatness of modern-day Poland.

But this is not intended to take over your thread, Bobi. I shall read it with much pleasure and interest. :)

News / PiS candidates are losing positions in EU Parliament. Will they keep power in Poland? [358]

@Maf

Putin is not Russia, and most of Russians who "support" him do so out of fear. You can hear it in multiple YT interviews when it's obvious they're afraid to speak against him (but still some do).

Russia, a brotherly Slavic country, will be around long after Putin and his mafia land in the trash bin of history, let's not forget that.

corrupted

It's the level of theft which has been coming to light in recent months that's staggering; and the creativity with which they stole (e.g. the Red is Bad scandal)!

I wouldn't call them rightist either. They cherished working class, unemployed and social margin, whilst effectively destroying the middle class and being practically at war with teachers, doctors, nurses, most artists, business owners, and middle-class professionals. Some rightists!

Unfortunately, Trzecia Droga loses to Kонфедерация :(

PSL should disassociate themselves from Hołownia and his ilk. I bet they would get more votes if they did. When-oh-when will the favour of Polish peasants swing once again into PSL's favour and out of PiS's?

Nothing sacred in war: 1946

In the photo we can see the damage done to Gdańsk's iconic St. Mary's Church. Almost every church in the city centre was destroyed or badly damaged by the Red Army. The only exception was St. Nicholas' church (the oldest one!) whose parish priest managed to convince the Soviet soldiers to leave the building alone with the highly persuasive combination of wine from the church's cellar and stories about its patron saint who is highly revered in Orthodox tradition.

History / 20 years of Poland in the EU. [317]

average salary, GDP per head then Bulgaria, easily the poorest EU country, is still 2x the level of Belarus

Not really.

Average wage in Belarus is 830 euro, and in Bulgaria 1020 euro. Again, far from twice the level.

And as your own numbers show it has very low unemployment.

Really? From the same link...

Of course, I would still prefer to live in Bulgaria (economic freedom, climate, opportunities) because, as you said, they develop faster than Belarus, but still - considering their EU membership - Bulgaria fails to impress in general. So, it takes much more than just the EU membership for a country to succeed.

Anyways - here's a proof that the EU membership alone is not enough to lift a country out of poverty and corruption...

... after almost 20 years of EU membership Bulgaria is on a comparable level to Belarus in most areas. :-/

Child's play: 1958

Internet and video games hadn't yet captivated the souls and minds of Polish children in 1950s, so they had to invent their own ways of spending free time. Here we can see a group of kids engaging in a rather dangerous game of racing cars passing through a small Lesser-Poland town of Annopol.

Why are you so stubborn

Because I still believe in the project. I still think the EU can get back on the right track, and abandon the attempts at implementing idiotic "climate" and immigration policies.

However, if I see that Polish economy suffers, our development is thwarted and EU-core tries to subdue us and turn us into a semi-colony, then I will join the Polexit camp. I just hope it won't happen.

Does anyone really think, that the actions of Orban's Hungary and Fico's Slovakia align more with Poland's interests than what Germany is doing?

Nope. Hungary and Slovakia are not helping, and the V4 has effectively become a V2. :-/ As for Austria and Greece, they are not considered core Three Seas countries. In general, I suppose we will have to wait for the end of Ukrainian-Russian conflict to see what (if anything) can be salvaged from V4, and what perspectives are there for the Three Seas. Working with Germany is of course an obvious thing to do if we are to remain in the Union, and I guess that with Tusk at helm it should be easier now than during Kaczynski's reign.

What does that have to do with anything? It doesn't matter.

Of course it matters. Not a single Three Seas country even cursorily mentions leaving the EU in their daily political discourse. Not even Hungary. Międzymorze has a chance as an internal EU block (sort of like this Mediterranean Union thing that the French are so excited about); in the foreseeable future no Three Seas EU member will leave the union and you can quote me on that.

I don't get how they can get away with all the crap they are pulling.

The only EU country apart from Poland with something that resembles an army and the only nuclear power in the EU. Also, the second largest economy of the Union. I guess they can get away with more. So, we need to get stronger and wealthier and we will get away with more stuff too. Life's unfair like that. Oh, well...

it is in the interests of Poland to break away as soon as possible from EU and continue to build economic independance and strengthten its hold on the Three Seas Project

Most of the Three Seas countries are in the EU and they have no intention whatsoever of leaving the union, so there goes your plan, genius.

Every anniversary of Polands entry to EU I do something extra bad to Germans, thats on top of the usual horrible things I do to them

You mean you masturbate furiously to German p0rn three times on this day, instead of your usual two times?
