Love / Polish girls and contraceptives [68]

Women know how harmful contraceptives can be if taken over a longer period so they tend to stay clear. They are a short-term measure.

How can people know? Surveys are not gonna reflect the true picture given the nature of the inquiry. It's a source of shame amongst many. I don't imagine the pill is that popular given the cost of some of them.

Travel / Jazz in Poland [27]

I'm not a fan of jazz but I must say that the Silesian Jazz band are immense in terms of knowing how to shake it up. I don't listen to jazz in my down time but if a Polish jazz band are playing when I'm out drinking then they can make ears prick up.

History / What do Poles think about Turks? [761]

Poles tend to be indifferent to Turks here, happy to just buy their kebabs and move on. There is no real animosity as they provide a service that Poles like. Gliwice doesn't have too many Nazi types that may attack them.

Life / Vasectomy in Poland is illegal? Why? [123]

True. The overlap is far closer than they'd like to admit. If it fits the bill of Polishness, they'll go with it.

News / THE ARMY OF POLAND - THE REALITY [493]

I thought as much. The Poles should stick to missions like PolUkrBat conduct. They help save the lives of people and tend not to take them.

You are advocating war, richasis? I must say, your last 2 posts have me confused. I always agreed with what you wrote before but it's like you are another person now.

The Polish Army should be more defensive in nature.

Life / Vasectomy in Poland is illegal? Why? [123]

Aha, on vasectomies? Tampering with the womb always struck me as odd. I've never really had faith in doctors. They tend to be weirdos who can never answer my hard questions. Not the brightest people in the world sometimes.

Life / Vasectomy in Poland is illegal? Why? [123]

The Catholic church doesn't allow abortions under those conditions? That's lame! I'm generally anti-abortion but it's a complicated matter. If the Catholic church takes an absolute position on it then I'm not surprised people jump ship.

UK, Ireland / Corned beef & Cabbage are typically Irish? [98]

Without a shadow of a doubt, Seanny. They have many warming foods through adaptation. Soups too but Scotland is no slouch there for the same reasons.

Hard issue. We should remember that cabbage, as used in okonomiyaki, is more Asian as it was brought across by the Celts and then given to Slavs. Right, Celts aren't Slavs ;) ;) The food doesn't seem to be fermented there. Oh, they like a drink, Seanny. Sake/shochuu/beer are all copiously consumed.

Absolutely! Seanny, have you ever made colcannon here? The Poles would really go in for it, I think. Stovies would also be popular.

Corned beef and cabbage are for poorer people in Scotland. We don't see cabbage in the same way as Poles yet it is used as an ingredient in some good foods.

The Irish put it in colcannon, one of my personal favourites. Check also rumblethedumps as a Scottish food.

Corned beef and cabbage is fairly popular in Scotland, though there are many foods that are much more popular. Stovies is a Scottish favourite, as is kedgeree.

UK, Ireland / What English food would you serve a Pole? [172]

I guess they would love mango chutney. Branston is leagues ahead of that. Salad cream and coleslaw go down well. SOLEH SLAV, lol

Life / Stubborn Polaks, anyone knows? [77]
