pregnant, barefoot and in the kitchen.

lol that was my line!
I stole it off this vile old Afrikaaner who used to say it a lot...'Woman should be ....etc etc' - (note the singular....) - try saying it with a thick Afrikaans accent....

the 'what's in it for me?' approach prevails most everywhere with the exception of Holy Mother the Church, that only stands to reason..

polonius you are sadly deluded, sorry.

Polonius, what is a professional feminist?

well I did wonder that myself.
perhaps he means 'professional person (eg doctor, lawyer etc) who is a feminist?
or someone who earns their living from being a feminist?
surely there are not so many of those.
not even sure what this thread it about tbh.

There was even a feminist gender studies professor at Boston College (Mary Daly) who would not allow males into her courses.

disengenous Z., she would teach them, just not allow them into her classes.
also, she retired from Boston Uni in 1999 so it is hardly breaking news.
there have been plenty of courses from which women were effectively banned, just not so publicly or loudly, usually done with obscure 'coding',
for example one medical school in London ran a coding system right up until the nineties - only those with a certain code would be interviewed, and women and black candidates were coded otherwise.

shall we talk about the SCUM manifesto as well?
lol

ZIMMY

"Do you understand the difference? You inadvertently point out a "norm" for women when you make the point that women give birth"

*sigh* yes Z I understand the difference. And it wasn't 'inadvertant' - never mind....

".I've told them they could have the next best thing......for one night :)"

lol, time rations eh?

I'll believe women want "equality" when they clamor to become 50 percent of all long-haul truckers; oil rig operators, roofers, welders, bomb disposal technicians;

Interesting that what Men do is still seen as the norm/preferred option in society and that as a result women are seen as lacking.

Push a 9lb baby out of your penis and then keep it alive using only your body for 6 months and then we can talk.

Mrs. Obnoxious to you thanks - see the little gender icon? ...personally I find your superior attitude about american goods and pernicious foodstuffs obnoxious but there you go.

Kids don't seem to mind Hershey's kisses. My mom always sends a bunch and I have no problem getting rid of them with my teenage students. Never heard any complaints.

it is because they are being polite....nobody could possibly like ersatz "chocolate" with 11 per cent cocoa solids, tasting of vomit, actually made with sour milk....trust me your students just don't want to be rude.

I bet your mom sends them over cos she thinks that poor "Eastern Europeans" don't have anything that nice....lol....

Baloney.

nope sorry it is true, that quality of choc would not even be classified as 'cooking chocolate' in Europe,
i will never forget being given a bag of them as a gift from the states and my utter disbelief on tasting them....
ooh how exciting i just googled 'hersheys kisses taste like....' and 'sick' came right up!!
I rest my case!

Hershey's kisses are great for the kids.

hershey's kisses taste like vomit to European taste buds and would put kids off American stuff for good.
how about a real baseball jacket or mitt, something like that for the teenagers?
the little kids will be more interested in the box the stuff comes in, but how about shipping them a radio flyer?

Life / Don't Forget: Tomorrow, March 8 is Women's Day in Poland! [115]

Depends when you are/live I guess ;)

well of course i would not wish to disrespect the women of Afghanistan or Saudi Arabia or Somalia, who really do suffer for their gender, but my comment was about Western women really.

Of course not, but it still feels safer and comfier to be a man in a lot of situations.

although Polson, in our big cities those most at risk are actually young men....contrary to popular wisdom.
and about the advertising...i was listening to the radio just yesterday and one of the women dj's said..'yes we all know what wimps men are..' in dismissive tones while

her colleagues snickered and agreed,,,and i was like,,,,hang on....errrr..somethings not right here....call the ZIMMEISTER!!

actually Polson, the more i think about your 'safer and comfier' to be a man remark the less i agree......apart from the risk of rape.

Life / News on driving in Poland [57]

It's better not to drink and drive, but someone who drank one beer and drives few hours later doesn't deserve to lose his license or go to prison.

but in a previous post you were essentially saying that it was quite acceptable to get s.hit-faced and drive?

The saddest thing is that despite having chavs, rednecks (or whatever you call them) in any country (and chavs basicly looks the same everywhere), when one thinks of an average Pole, one imagines a chav or a homeless bum. Does it make you feel better?

Zeti, that is really not the case!
like Pawian said, relax....

it's not possible to drive safely when intoxicated, although some claim that it is, it simply isn't.
