Language / Polish was chosen the HARDEST LANGUAGE in the world to learn... :D [1558]

A language will be hard if you don't invest time in learning it.

Very true. Many people say it's too hard to learn Polish. But they don't understand that all languages are difficult in the beginning, and that you must work very hard if you want to be able to speak a new language. It's all about motivation.

Food / Polish v Western farm produce? [19]

I often see a cow with a few metres of rope nailed to a field

That is f*cked up, and shouldn't be allowed at all.

Food / Polish v Western farm produce? [19]

The effectiveness is much higher in this huge facilities. All small details are optimized to 100%. Poland has a lot of small scale, old fashioned, production.

Living in the UK, I feel very sorry for millions of the natives who never in their life tasted the real butter, strawberries, mushrooms, pork, cream, milk, blackberries, cheese etc.

True. And this is what most stores in Poland sell these days as well.

Nordöstersjökustartilleriflygspaningssimulatoranlägeningsmaterie lunde rhållsuppföljningssystemdiskussioninläggförberedelsearbeten

This is just an artificial word that has been created by putting many words together. No one would ever use this kind of "word", if you can call it a word. You can make up a word that is twice as long if you want. But it's still not a genuine word, it's an unnatural combination of words.

Hottentottenstottertrottelmutterbeutelrattenlattengitterkofferat tentä ter?

This doesn't mean anything at all. This is not a word or even a combination of words.

Love / How do Polish boys feel about foreign girls? [163]

Pity things have become so difficult for polish men.

Difficult for Polish men?

I'm sure that > 95% of all Polish women marry Polish men.

On the Polish countryside I'd say that the number is > 99%.

Life / Feeling ashamed of my Polish heritage. [237]

You trust the politicians to sort things out?

Poland is the only country in Europe that has a positive growth of BNP now.

What does that mean? It means that Poland is the country that handled the global economic crisis best of all countries in Europe.

Things are going better and better. That is something to proud of Sebastian.

Study / Medicine study - good Polish University for international students; study in English? [38]

are there racist ppl in poland also?

There is some racism in Poland. Mostly because people are not used to other nationalities, especially non-European people. Generally people experience more racism in small cities than big cities. But we should remember that there are racists in all countries of the world.

Everyone has different opinions about which universities are the best. But I think the differences in quality are not so big.
Universities in cities with a more international atmosphere are Warsaw, Wroclaw, Poznan and Krakow.

Language / Polish was chosen the HARDEST LANGUAGE in the world to learn... :D [1558]

The truth is, that Polish is taught wrongly.

The truth is that different persons need different teaching methods.

SEVEN genders? Seven? I'd like the author of the article to name them;)

Nominative
Accusative
Genitive
Dative
Instrumental
Locative
Vocative

Language / Polish was chosen the HARDEST LANGUAGE in the world to learn... :D [1558]

I would say that apart from the "i - y" and "ú - ů" pitfalls, Czech spelling / pronunciation is very clear and consistent.

I was thinking of long/short vowels for example.

If anyone thinks Czech learners have it easy, just have a look at the Wikipedia entry on Czech grammar

On the other hand Polish grammar is also very difficult. The same number of cases (7) as Czech.

Life / Why so many Poles use a second hands clothes? [113]

What lack of money, Poland has the best economy in europe.

Right now Poland has the best BNP-growth in Europe. But the ratio salary/cost of living is still low in Poland.

It's 2 completely different things.

Life / Why so many Poles use a second hands clothes? [113]

Polish people should feel ashamed cos these shops are more common than any other business.

I'm not Polish, but I've been in many Polish cities. Your statement is not true. How many Polish cities have you been to?

And by the way, most second hand shops don't sell underwear, socks etc.

You seem to have a problem with Polish people, did anyone of them treat you badly?

A world-wide trend. Also rich celebrities in US do it. Ask them why they shop second-hand and drive a Ferrari.

Shops with second hands cloths are everywhere, on every corner.

Not in any of the cities I've been to.

Love / Do Polish Women age well? [153]

Is too hard for you to count the years and realise that someone who is 40 today was not born during WW2, and actually lived all of their adult life in post-communist Poland?

Of course this thread is a generalization. And it's a complex question, so it shouldn't be considered as a universal explaination

But I still experience, everyday in the streets, that people in their 20's care more about physical appearance than those in their 50's. And I can come up with several explanations why I think it is like that. But this is not very important in my opinion, I was trying to give a possible explanation to the initial question.

* It should be said that there are many Polish women in their 40's that look very good for their age.

** It should also be said that there are other things, except beauty, that are important also (or maybe even more important).
