I must say I thing this antagonism : this march OR march for Ukraine baffling.

If the march was pro Russian or against a war in let's say Sudan that would make sense. But here?

I haven't seen such in decades but when they are there it's due to poor maintenance not a plan so it's no cultural difference.


Well, you don't need electric kettle. It is quicker but over the hob one works just fine.

One explanation for the low amount of electric kettles was that they simply don't drink that much tea and for coffee use coffee machines.

6 (bedding) - I saw it on videos and such. Doesn't make much sense to me but apparently it's supposed to be easier to adjust how worm you get as you can kick off the blanket and cover just with the sheet.

Here I must say I'm not a fan of British size pillows.

7 (light) - really? I like bright spaces and mood lighting works for me in pubs and such but not at home.

8 (bidets) - I can't say they are that common in Poland. Are they in Russia?

Oh yes, would annoy the hell out of me. Here you can buy 2 boxes only at any one time. During little epidemic in my family I needed to buy kids paracetamol and ibuprofen and adult paracetamol and ibuprofen. Thankfully the shop assistant at the self service looked at me and said:

Just pay for your shipping with two and then a second 'shop' for the others. I will authorise.


We know. No-one spending 5 minutes on this forum could avoid this knowledge. I, however, meant more thing that are differentin your new country.

The other shows pros and cons of both.
It does state ease of access is easier in non means tested which is generally true but I believe could be easier and automatic in today's world. Government has access to all our data so they could join it.

Second point is that it stops people from 'kombinowanie' as they can try to earn more and save more without hitting the threshold for help.

- doesn't feel like charity.

It was balanced by pros for means testing:

- more focus on those who actually need help

- programs being cheaper to run

- being more sustainable and people not feeling like they are being screwed over.

While both have merits I don't see that ' far better results'

Tbh any kind of proof that it is better and in what respect.

The thing is I'm quite neutral in that battle.

I believe such high benefits should be means tested.
I also wouldn't mind general child benefit in lower amount to take the sting of getting so much worse of after having kids.

Let's notice that UK not means tested benefit for 2 kids is worth about 14 hours of work on minimum wage. Polish before the increase was 47 hours and after increase it's 76 hours!!! See the difference?

Second, times change. It means we have technology that would allow giving the money to people who qualify without anybody knowing and send to their account with just their bank knowing
