Not exactly universal in Iran. Some places there have always been among the most conservative in the world.

Do you remember the "Bible Code" codswallop that some Orthodox Jewish people and some Protestant evangelicals in America were getting all worked up over.

There was a best-selling book about 30 or so years ago. It said that if you number crunch parts of the Old Testament in a really ultramodern computer like a 386 or even a pentium. Remember that the splitting of Iran that some suggest isn't splitting Persians.

Arabistan in the south may as well be separate anyway. The risk is that states in the north may be susceptible to orc influence.

Plus of course Iraq and Arabistan would want to be together and neighbouring ethnostate countries in the north would want to annexe the parts nearest to them. There are pluses and minuses in that. The Persians would of course still have Persia. They would not however have much oil.

You do realise that the newspaper in question has a largely over 70 and ultra traditionalist newspapers.

In Poland where the newspapers exist to say how wonderful the new bridges, stadiums and monuments are and how great the leader is and avoid mentioning anything that looks bad in case an outsider bothers to translate and read it. That and endless political trivia and finance data.

Over there however, the newspapers waist to say "why oh why" and to make criticisms in order to to either advance the interests of the political party they support or to generally effect change.

If a Polish-style newspaper went on sale in the U.K. it would go bust immediately. Nobody would read it due to being boring.
