I do not obsessively follow every minute incident, of which there has never been a shortage in the POO camp

So.... as a PιSS enthusiast, you don't mind a little collateral sexual abuse as long as it doesn't muss up the big picture good change? Is that the official ΡiSS fan's position?

Since you claim to know all about how their minds work, you must be one of them yourself.

You write about them so much you must be a PO lover!

it tells the story of conspirators

So, it's a fantasy! Okay, but why take it so seriously then?

To every patriotic Pole Macierewicz symbolises a Poland free of SB snitches and PZPR holdovers

All 26% of the population? Why are there so few patriotic Poles? As a non-Pole yourself, how do you account for the over 70 % of the population that is not patriotic?

Probably "ministerial kids", part of the roundtable bandwagon.

For a supposed supporter of the Polish people you sure do despise an awful lot of Poles. Why is that? And no, they're definitely not "ministerial kids" like the JK was at their age.

those mourning their loved ones

Please, mourning loved ones is the farthest thing from the minds of РiSS afficionados.

Fortuantely today's young people are by and large opposed to the soft on commies POO

I deal with young adults all the time and if you think most of them are following the РiSS party, then you're really mistaken.

Especially, the spectacular failure of PıSS in its addlebrained scheme to oust Tusk was seen as a major embarrassment to the country internationally.

Let me try again,

You're a РiSS supporter who supports ideas like the rule of law or democracy only when it suits the РiSS leadership.

Yes that's accurate now.

After the crushing defeat in the Legionowo referendum where 94.27% of voters rejected the plan by PiS to forcibly merge their town with Warsaw

Roundtable! Michnik's a dirty Jew! SB! Wałęsa and the boat! (sorry I was just channeling polly and wondering what mental gymnastics he would use to justify this.... nah, he'll just ignore it and go on about his usual bogeymen).

Anything goes means no morals, no ethics, no restraint, no right and wrong,

Isn't that what the Church said when it was persecuting Galileo?

--The legions of non-lustrated SB types that got above-average salaries for a quarter-century while their erstwhile victims sffered poverty

If there were "legions" of them then Poland never would have exited communism peacefully.

Selling off domestic assets

no one says the transfer was handled perfectly, but most of the assets sold were sinking in debt and could not be made to be profitable

Purveyors of anarcho-porno-libertine ("anything goes"), anti-Catholic lifestyles alien to the traditonal Polish way of life

Anything goes is a founding principal of western civilization (it's at the heart of it and science and technology would be impossible without it). Would you prefer the tender ministrations of Russia instead?

many Poles finally realised they were living in a foreign country and rebelled at the polls in 2015

The same ones that "supported socialism" back in the day?

A very free (and Americanized) version

All the folks round my place, they need a New Deal
And the future looks bright with Kaczynski behind the wheel,
For every kid you make, he gives a hundred bucks a pop,
And as for smokes and booze he's made the taxes stop!
It's the land of lard and vodka, under Jaroslaw the Great,
That's what they're all a' sayin' around my garden gate

Poland will be glad to be rid of Kwaśniewski's post-commie constitution which was adotped in a referendum

Horrible, horrible democracy. How you must hate it!

Now it is onbvious that it has petrified the round-table clique and served no more than about one-fourth of hte nation

What about purple flying unicorns? Or the tooth fairy union? As long as we're talking about made up fantasy creatures.

a de-polonised economy with dead-end jobs at home or menial labour abroad for non-clique members

I'll say it again. Any growing business goes through a phase where there's too much work for the founder(s) but not enough to justify hiring people. Many businesses fail to break through that and either fail or limit their operations to stay at manageable size.

A national economy is similar, there will come a time (during growth) where old salaries aren't enough but businesses cannot realistically pay more. It's frustrating but rather than find a way to work through it and get ot a stage where salaries can be increased pay many Polish people (and some non-Poles like you) have decided to retreat into PRL ghettoization and blame their problems on non-existent bogeymen. So sad.

What you call lib democracy in fact is a kleptocracy

Exactly what PiS is doing through nepotism and the appointment of unqualified dolts. Remember Pride of Poland? It took PiS one year to destroy three quarters of its previous value.

Good change?!?

USA, Canada / Polka Parade Television Show [43]

What's all the fuss about polka? Isn't it a Czech kind of dance?

In the US "polka music" doesn't refer only to the rhythm known as 'polka' but is colloquially used to describe any music from Germany/Czech/Poland with any kind of traditional elements, especially if it's a dance rhythm and has an accordeon in there somewhere.

It's also used to describe music from North Mexico/Southern Texas with similar features (adopted from 19th century German immigrants).

That implies the currently binding law

No. You really hate the law when it's not on your side. Laws that the Sejm passes that violate the constituion ARE NOT CONSTITUTIONAL!

At present Poland has no constitution because the commie-style party leader never intended to follow any law that restricts his power to hand out goodies to his toadies. I just hope that whatever he's handing out to you is worth it.

huge amount of disqualified votes

Deceptive language! I'm no fan of PiS (massive, massive understatement) but having an electoral threshhold is a good thing. Completely proportional representation was a party gift of the communists that clogged up the first few post commie governments. Comparisons with the Netherlands are not apt.

There may be a time to elminate the threshhold but now is not it.

Language / How well do Polish people understand Slovak? [88]

Egeszegere!

Actuall the that doesn't apply to the sz and s thing at all (since egeszseg 'health' has the ś/sz sound since the final s determines the sound of the sz before it) it's a vowel thing, Poles can't disitnguish the short (and lower) e from the long (and higher) one.

the "SZ" vs. "S" issue. A Pole instinctively says "SHeged" rather than "Sseged" ("Szeged") and "Ssandor" (Sandor) instead of "SHandor" etc..

Well the Hungarian s is closer to Polish ś so when Hungarians try to say proszę Poles hear prosię (piglet).

The problem pronouning Szeged in the Polish manner is that Hungarians hear "twoja dvpa" (your @ss) similarly the Hungarian toast egészségedre often sounds (when said by Poles) something like "to your entire @ss!" (do całej twojej dvpy)

And the chutzpah of the year award goes to...... Andrzej Duda who

"Chciałbym, żeby w tym zakresie Konstytucja RP była w pełni przestrzegana i tak jako prezydent to realizuję"

(quick rough translation)

"I would like for the Constitution of the RP to be observed in this matter and as the president I will do so"

This from one of the henchmen who helped gut the consitution (brinjging shame upon his profession and the office of president) so that a particular party could rule with no legal restrictions. Hypocrisy thy name is Duda!

Sorry, but your English is so bad that you could not possibly study outside of India.

Or inside? India has relentlessly pursue a policy of education in English (rather than local languages) and this is one of the side effects.

My humble offering...

Zlot gwiaździsty do Łodzi

All points fly-in to Łódź

ot gwiaździsty samolotów, zjazd gwiaździsty samochodów

All points fly-in, all points (here it's tougher) drive-in?

Główną imprezą był zlot gwiaździsty, zorganizowany przez Aeroklub Łódzki

The Main Event was an all points fly-in, organized by Aereoklub Łódź.

I'm pretty sure about fly-in (my brother sometimes takes part in them) I'm taking 'all points' from 'all points bulletin'

News / Goran Bregovic`s concerts banned from Poland ? [30]

why would you call for sanctioning on people who are supposedly under brutal occupation of foreign power

The same reason the US (rightly) placed economic sanction and trade restrictions on Poland after martial law was declared. Or do you think that western powers should have done everything to help the communist government stay in power?

do you support Nazism?

No. Do you support Serbian hegemony in the Balkans?

Crimea is occupied part of ukraine, and now you want to punish "ukrainians"

I care about the rule of law. If the people of Crimea really wanted to join Russia then there are ways to do that peacefully. A wildcat referendum carried out under de facto military occupation (where some precincts had more people voting that resident) is not the rule of law.

But Russia (and it's supporters) have always favored brute force. that's one reason Poland will never allign with Russia willingly.

Croats heavily mixed with Serbians, so that every single one of them in itself have more Serbian blood then he have Croat blood

There is no such thing as "Serbian blood".

Its a sin in itself.

Then go forth and sin no more!

So, yes, Croats have their story

And they get to decide about that, no you or any other Serbian.

FWIW I know one woman from Zagreb with a Croatian father and Serbian mother who culturally completely self-identifies as Croatian. This might partly be because remembers hiding in the basement while Serbs were bombing her neighborhood. What do Serbs have to offer her now except more violence?

Kajkavian dialect or something is spoken by the people of Zagreb and further north,

Standard Croatian is based on shtokavian and many Croats I know would not for a second accept it as "Serbian".

But Crow has an infantile mentality that cannot conceive of any other world view but his own (or simply ascribes any differing opinion from his as the dread German Anglo influence).

The idea that Croatians have their own story simply doesn't occur to him, it's all land to be reclaimed for Mother Serbia (again the infantile mentality that needs a mommy figure to please).
