News / US to deploy Patriot missiles to Poland [405]

According to itn.co.uk today: ' "The United States is deeply committed to Poland's security and sovereignty," Clinton said at a joint press conference with Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski'.

In that case, America can take back the millions of Colorado beetle it dropped on Poland in the 1960s to destroy Poland's potato crops - or perhaps just nuke 'em with their missiles.

Food / Buying alcohol, wine in Poland. It's very difficult. [85]

Cheap wines contain sulphites. The world over.

Accepted. I stand corrected.

There are many good wines here but not top drawer.

Well, I'd be surprised to find Chateau Lynch-Bages or Chateau La Tour in my local Biedronka or Delikatesy.

Most wines in Polish shops contain "siarczyna" (it says so in a font as small you need a microscope), presumably some kind of sulphur compound. I was told it speeds up the fermentation process from several years to about five days or less. Sounds really healthy, not, but that's my price range: about zł15,- per bottle max. Better to invest in a couple of 54L 'dymiony' and brew your own. Apart from the initial expense of buying the equipment, you'll get good healthy wine at a fraction of the cost in shops, and you know what's in it.

Oh no, it's confirmed!

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has overseen the signing in Poland of a key missile base agreement.

The deal sets up a permanent US missile base as part of a revamped version of the controversial missile defence shield.

Russia opposes a Polish base hosting US missiles. Mrs Clinton said the new deal did not threaten Russia.

Mrs Clinton arrived from Ukraine, which was the first stop on a tour of eastern European states.

History / Poles should emulate Jews? [153]

Ho-hum. Sorry folks, I don't find this of interest. What am I doing on this subject I don't know already. Better have a (salty?) coffee at vaginacafe.pl

Don't be gay in Israel, you may be stoned to death for that (slight exageration, but not by much).

Our Lady of Perpetual Help

You can ask her, though I wouldn't as she let Poland down every time.

Life / If I could introduce something from my country into Poland, I would.... [175]

Shops still open on some stupid RC holiday like the so-called "Body of Christ Day", next on June 3rd. All of Poland is closed on that day. Even the dogs will be afraid to bark for fear of excommunication.

If Poland is to compete successfully with the West, it MUST rid itself of Catholic control.

convex:
Russia, and a perceived threat from Germany.

Let's not forget China. They're taking over economically, importing everything including GARLIC into the EU for Chrissake. They now own the national debts of a number of countries, especially African. Now that the peril jaune has discovered the power of the purse, we'd better learn Cantonese!

Genealogy / What are common Polish character traits? [417]

Heartily concur with most of the above. My dad had his UK passport "lost" which had 800 GBP in it, whilst in the safe hands of his PL sister, my flesh & blood aunt. We couldn't prove anything though. One visit to the confessional on the following Saturday and the matter is closed! F*g RC *****!!

Off-Topic / To ALL IMMIGRANTS ("expats") to Poland on this forum... [124]

Have you thought this through, grubas (fatso)? If all foreigners leave Poland, who will you Polaks have, to steal from? Each other? Not likely, as you all know what other Polaks are like and are very aware of each other's tricks. That means you'll all be holy as hell and have no need to go to 'holy' confession. It'll be the thin end of the wedge of not going to church. What will that 2000 year old firm do? Accuse you of being "sekta"?

Well 'przelotem', at least Poland is a MUCH better place now than it was 20 years ago, and now - almost - in the 21st Century (unless you belong to the church which is still in the 15th Century).

Maybe this was already mentioned somewhere here but anyway:

1 - almost everyone chainsmokes
2 - almost everyone eats animals, especially pigs
3 - the place is under snow for 5 months of the year

At last, it looks like (hopefully) JohnP has woken up to the basic fact that we aren't as stupid as his establishment bosses hope we are. Hooray. Not even my cat believes the brainless fairy story that 9/11 wasn't an inside job.

2. Closemindedness(is that a word)

That's narrowmindedness. The Krk /Kościół rzymskokatolicki/ is responsible for Poland still being stuck in mediaeval times. They have made Poland a joke abroad. As for the bad economy, it's originally the red revenge at the end of the Communist era. They ensured that the Western system so long fought and desired for by the ordinary Polish people was the worst possible form. Their mindset was: "chciałeś, to masz!".

So, Polish Church and Polish politics; the combination of the current systems couldn't be worse for Poland.

All in all, it strongly looks like JohnP is the end product of establishment brainwashing, and a CIA agent. Of course he'll deny every word of it.

You're saying it's OK for USA and UK to have WMDs, but not who they decide is an 'enemy'? Funny how whatever 'enemy' it is, just happens to be sitting on oil.

Remember the Yankee attacks on the Balkans about 20 yerars ago? They have SOME oil, but not huge reserves like Iran has. Iran is next.
With all the technology and expertise USA has, they didn't manage to find WMDs? Come off it. And who put Saddam into power in the first place? USA.

Remember a Mr Kelly, the WMD expert? Funny how he took a walk down the road, and was found far off in the woods, having topped himself "because he couldn't stand the stress of being questioned". No-one to date has found WMDs in Iraq. That Hussein must have had magic powers to make them invisible.

Accept the fact that the real terrorists are in the White House and in Downing Street.

I really like it when a Polish "builder" claims, when you ask him what he is skilled at, he'll usually say 'wszystko'. OK, let's see his pilot's licence, his gynaecologist's diplomas......

The one body that's got its act very well together is the Catholic Church (a.k.a. Krk). Who else can - or would - ban the film "RELIGULOUS" from the cinemas? Everything else is as well organised as a looneybin.

If you want something done (ie building or house repairs), it may as well be carried out by a Mexican snail on Valium with heart disease!

I've had much more stuff nicked in one year in Poland than in 20 in UK; and that by my own immediate family - PEASANTS!

On the positive side, there's (still) cheapISH beer and vodka (and lard!). If you're into eating pork (pigs have about 90% human genes), that's cheap too. Make the most of it; the prices will shoot up come the Euro.

The missiles will ultimately be controlled by the US president who publicly stated he was born on the planet Krypton, not in a manger (infowars). I'd feel safer under Monty Python. Keep taking the tablets, Obama.
