Life / Why Polish people should be proud of being Polish? [370]

Okay, they're big racist Polack scumbags.

Better? The amount of racism on here from Polish-Americans is staggering - certainly, much more than can be seen from real Poles.

The sadly vast amount of racism on this forum and elsewhere from Polish-Americans :(

Said the biggest troll, racist and a scumbag. No educated, rational reader would ever believe in single claim you post. I know, it's apparently your job...keep making a fool of yourself.

So, delphia can, Polonius can not? They are a good fit! Everybody needs a good laugh.

True, indeed, it is none of your business. It is men work.

I wish it wasn't 'men work'... Maybe the world wouldn't be so screwed up? But, we'll get there :))

Cheer up NomadaNet. You are too pessimistic, and stop thinking about nukes. Doom and gloom attitude is depressing. Neither you or I can stop the future or some deranged, power hungry idiot to press the button.

Life / Rate Poland (Life Quality / Culture and People / Food): 1-10! [232]

I would rather live in a trailer park than in some post communist concrete block. Have any of you ever see a trailer inside? They can be amazingly huge and comfortable, unlike the tiny apartment in blocks. Not to mention some quite expensive cars parked in front of the trailers, just the same as in front of nice condo buildings or individual homes.(Ok, I don't know about trailer homes down South). Many people live there because they can not afford the same space in a condo or a house. Some live there because this all they can afford and it beats a beat up apartment in the city in a questionable neighborhood.

In regards to public transportation: public transportation might be good everywhere in the world (Europe) but I want my car in front of the house and to use it at my convenience. End of story. The only time when busses and trains are full in Chicago is the morning and evening rush hour. Otherwise they are a waste of gas and taxpayers money.

Food / Origin of the pierogi [120]

Yes, flat dough, no yeast. Pierogi are kind of bigger ravioli.

The kapusta/boiled eggs filling is somewhat unusual. I never heard of it. However, the mushrooms with fried onions sound good...Maybe I can talk my friend into improvising this kind of rolls. She bakes something similar with marmalade stuffing, but if she put in ground beef, mushrooms and onions...spices...that could come out pretty tasty.

Exactly. That's the reason you often see a beautiful woman with a pretty average man or a handsome man with a very average girl. They figured it out. Most gorgeous looking couples split. Hollywood comes to mind.

Food / Origin of the pierogi [120]

Do you have an equivalent of the russian/ukrainian pirogi - made with the fluffy yeast/sour dough, and baked?

The picture shows something that looks more like baked rolls, not pierogi. What was the stuffing made of? Meat, cheese, anything also? My mom used to bake similar looking rolls with cheese.

Natasa: Those have to be on the short leash.
Yeah, I know a couple of women constantly sniffing their husband's clothes for different perfume and signs of lipstick somewhere...not for me. I prefer to let the dog loose and have peace. Not worthed the effort. :)

scan the doubt
I don't care about the cost. I want it done.

yes, but my next 'demand' is the invisible inner beauty and many are lucking even that. Picky, picky...

Devil is supposed to look attractive.A man needs to be just more handsome than a pig as the wise Czechs say.

Images of devils vary between different cultures, some paint him attractive ( don't), but the images of pigs are painted the same. Actually, pigs are cute.

look becomes irrelevant as far as i noticed at some moment.

Yep. Beauty is only skin deep. My first husband was handsome and all women wanted him, so I had to donate him back... now I want an ugly man.

What can I tell you people...here is a recipe for a happy couple and a long lasting relationship: a man should be only a little bit better looking than devil and a woman should be a little bit uglier than an angel. And, voila! No problems!

Po polsku / W dupie - w Polsce lekarz zarabia mniej niz fryzjer? [32]

wredotka you are up already! :) Well, I don't know who Kulczyk is but he sounds important. You see, my niece gets a private visit now and than, but it leads to more private visits and it gets expensive at some point. I wish the system work a little better. What if I decide to retire in Poland some day? Will little, old Eurola get any medical help in time before she dies?

To ponoć prawda. Lekarze w Polsce nie sa tacy jak byli niegdys. Moja rodzina czeka miesiacami na specjaliste. Najlepiej nie chorowac, komu tam potrzebne te wstretne pastylki. Eeek.

Eurola:
I heard that a beautician in Warsaw makes more than a doctor...(
A doctor is paid by the gov a flat rate and a doctor doesn't care about a patient.

That's just like here! They get paid $35.00 per patient a year whether they see them or not! lol. Can you imagine? The HMO doctor have hundreds of patients signed up to his/her name. They don't have to do anything and still collect a hefty salary. And, if they get to see a patient, they have only 10-15 minutes for them! It is up to you to take advantage of the precious minutes and get what you want i.e. your annual tests. I know, I use HMO.

lekarz zarabia mniej niż fryjer???? to jest straszy I can`t believed

I heard that a beautician in Warsaw makes more than a doctor...(10,000/12,000 zl a month) is that what you're referring to? People (women) are willing to spend more on a haircut and hair color than on their physical. Pretty sad, but is it true?

Food / Is brain-damaging vegan fad growing in Poland? [176]

Moderation is the key. My friend in Florida practices raw food diet, and then she will stuff herself with sweets and a cappuccino with 5 spoons of sugar...it beats me why she torture herself with nasty, fresh squeezed juices first, only to kill her good intentions with sugar.

But she doesn't get it. It is a fad. Veggies are good and I love 'em but I want some meat with it too. So there.

Love / Online matrimonial - a good way to find a true Polish man/woman on the net? [51]

You are right about the 'foreign country' matches. If it happened that I met a polish man who would fall in love in me, and then later, I learned that he was here illegally, it would sure put me on guard. Does he really love me or is it about papers? I understand what you wanted to say Exaggerated, but it sounded a little bit like bashing the meeting on-line. Or, maybe I misunderstood your intentions, and for that I'm sorry.

Love / Online matrimonial - a good way to find a true Polish man/woman on the net? [51]

What a wise head you have on your shoulders.

blushing Gee, thanks. Ten years ago, a couple would not admit to their friends and family at first if they met on-line. Not today, they announce it without a blink. Really, it is just another place. I know, I will look into it some day when I'm ready. A grocery store, a hardware store, the library, workplace, school, the friend of a friend blind date...all good, but not as productive as on-line :)

Love / Online matrimonial - a good way to find a true Polish man/woman on the net? [51]

ended up in an unfortunate divorce.

I'm sure there is plenty of scam on line and what you described, but even high school sweethearts are getting divorced. Right? Just recently, I read that 4 out of 10 couples meet on-line and get married. I personally know three couples who met this way and are happily married. So, it is a meeting place just like any other, got to be cautious anywhere. I met my ex at a bar. Is he my ex because we met at a bar? Nope.

Life / Rate Poland (Life Quality / Culture and People / Food): 1-10! [232]

So, what's your rating Fuzzy? I'm afraid that your rating will confirm the reason I'm in USA, especially when it comes to Quality of life.

1. I give 5 (It mostly sucks, even though my family thinks that they've got it all)
2. I give 8 (excluding old ladies like someone said) lol.
3. I give 7 (maybe because I really like Mediterranean food)

USA, Canada / Polack/American Polonia/Plastic Pole "culture" [568]

kinda stupid and old now and not really worth discussing.

Exactly. I never heard the expression 'Plastic Polak" until this thread. This delphiandomine dude has some serious issues.

I feel saddened to hear that some think that because I was taken from Poland as a young child that I am no longer polish.

Girl, don't even think that. There is nothing stronger in this world than blood ties with your family and with your birth country.

Thanks wildrover. We'll get a shi&load at some point. The times when I wore winter boots twice during the winter ended about a decade ago. My new pair is on a standby in the closet.

BTW.

She tells me she was out all day today in a short skirt and a thin jacket....its minus 15 in Moscow...!!

You got yourself a pretty hot chick, man.

Life / What is the best city in Poland to live in? Relocating to Poznan? [41]

There is common opinion that they are scum collected from whole Polish countryside.

That's what my two friends considering themselves 'true warsawians' tell me... They really live there for generations and are very nice.
They hate that Warsaw is so full of peasants who came from neighboring villages and from allover the country in the early 80's. Many uneducated and rude, knowing how to work the elbows in the crowd. Well, it's been a while. I'm sure their kids born in Warsaw since then are different. I myself had a good impression of the city on my last visit, but I did not take any tramway rides...

News / Polish President Lech Kaczynski and gov officials die in a plane crash in Russia [686]

The facts and the truth being Russians using a giant magnet to bring president's plane down

That's a funny truth. Giant magnet! LOL.

All of the european union, the u.s.a and the russians are rubing thier hands and laughing that they got rid of the Polish opposion which was against their agenda since Poland refused to coperate in their polictical bullshit ways.

Since the trip was pretty much impromptu I don't think Russians had any chance to prepare the 'take down' of the plain (the magnet?). :) However, I agree that EU, Russia and USA can be quite happy with the outcome. LK did not dance to their tunes, he was constantly on the way... the problem got 'solved' due to the unfortunate accident.
