Climate changes all the time, what we know about Earth history shows it! Only a few thousand years back Europe was an ice hell, even more years back Europe didn't even exist. And the changes go on, with mankind or without it.

We can't stop the moving of earth plates, volcanos, glacial/interclacial periodes etc., but then there is overpopulation, food shortages, the coming end of fossil ressources, poisoning of the environment etc. where we could do something.

I dunno....I sometimes compare it with the "Wende"....afterwards not many wanted to have anything more to do with their SED-past...

Everybody knows/knew the truth but most just try/tried to survive/adapt to the new rules...that is totally different from "not being able to handle it"!

Now I think a real processing of the events is only be possible with the next generation. A new generation not being directly involved/tainted...and that will be so with every big happening in any country, the Corona-Crisis for example. There is no real reprocessing possible with the deciders still alive and often enough still in power...

I'm not sure about that....and what happened in Sachsenhausen. Höcke didn't deny the Holocaust, didn't he! And I know though that the "Erinnerungskultur" in the GDR was already a different one than the one Wessies are used to...for example Jews played barely a role....not much about a Holocaust, but all about the brave Soviets and Communists...so...

Again, what you enjoy is social democracy at most, kept in check mainly by conservative rightists....that works. It stops working when the conservatives are moving/being moved left and the socialists taking over...that's where we are now....the end of that left-moving would be Absolutism again, when it isn't stopped!

That's the thing....that "warning"!

How often can you warn till that warning loses its effect? Especially if it comes from growingly unpopular sources....

An example....the GDR people had been warned for decades of the dangers of capitalism and the West generally....from Kindergarten onwards...dissenting parties and media being forbidden, even a wall was build...all to safe guard the good people and rescue them from the bad, of course....

Only some "warning" alone means nothing in the long term...not if the warners don't deliver a real positive alternative!
