Life / - Conservative Radio talk shows in Poland - [60]

Shows what you don't know about politics.

My point is that if Poland and the rest of the E.U. had Conservative radio programming, that they don't have now, both left and right leaning political views could be heard as an equal democracy.

As it is now the Left has the upper hand to preach their views as being the gospel without the other side having the same exposure to their views.

News / Polexit? Almost half of the Poles believe that Poland would be better off outside of the EU [548]

Actually and hypothetically if Russia did start a nuclear conflict it would take out all of Poland's nuke sites before any nuke's could be launched.

Back to my point from 2 hours ago.....................

You will never see nuclear weapons used by any civilized society in the world in your life time so sleep well.

- there are no nuclear weapons present in Poland

Oh, o.k., there aren't. NOT !
Especially loaded on U.S. war planes in Poland and who knows how many more ?
Should we tell Putin how many there are in Poland ?
Did you know about the secret of how many nukes were located in Poland during the Cold War by Russia before I just told you ?

My guess is NO so how would you know how many U.S. nukes are located in Poland presently ? lol

No. the lunatics have taken over the asylum.

I can ask again - why not Poland?

Poland already has defensive nukes located within Poland.

- it's simply something that might happen,

Any number of things "might happen" such as an earthquake that would level Warsaw.

NOBODY will use nukes in Europe!

Because if they did and got a counter nuke strike it would contaminate every country in the E.U. as small as it is.

Could be because we have learned and seen the horrible aftermath of years to come of such a weapon do ya think.
Add that to the fact the fear if someone was stupid enough to use one....... their country would be turned into a pile of glass.

As I said, we take too many things for granted these days.

Well your nightmares are not one of them.

Life / - Conservative Radio talk shows in Poland - [60]

With conservative information the main stream liberal media refuses to talk about which is the point of the thread.
There are no conservative institutes of higher learning on radio in Poland or for that matter in the whole E.U.
Only Liberal and Socialist radio.
Why is that ?

Life / - Conservative Radio talk shows in Poland - [60]

Maybe for old people

Sean Hannity's conservative audience is mostly 25 - 35 here in the U.S.A.
And even so, let the older people set an example to get things going with the younger peoples interest in Poland's future and ideas.

And young people in Poland are famously politically apathetic

Why do you see politically protesting crowds in Poland loaded with young people then ?

Life / - Conservative Radio talk shows in Poland - [60]

talk radio is kind of over.

I can't believe that as Rush Limbaugh's audience is growing every year with a present audience of over 26 million.
His conservative audience gets to call in live on his radio show and present their piece of mind exposing the lies of the Liberals.
Seems something like that would be socially enlightening on subjects swept under the rug by the opposition in Poland.
Sorry to walk on you Milo as we both posted at the same time.
You are correct Milo with your input.
This includes all of the E.U., not just Poland.
There is no Conservative talk radio........why ?

Life / - Conservative Radio talk shows in Poland - [60]

Would a conservative talk radio station in Poland be welcomed ?
I understand that Poland has Liberal and Socialist talk radio but no real Conservative talk shows besides the church radio Maryja.
Why is this ?
Would they be considered Hate Speech ?
Would such an unedited program be legal in Poland where conservative people are allowed to call in and voiced their opinions like we do here on the Polish Forums ?

Could people be arrested by the thought police for not being Politically Correct ?
Please help me out here.

Did you ever get your questions answered Doug ?

Love / Do Polish men make good husbands? [108]

Maybe you are looking in the wrong places to come up with such a bitter conclusion.
Have you looked in the mirror and ask yourself why you attract such men ?

Work / Self-employed American living in Poland? Is it possible? [54]

my plan to move to Poland rests entirely on me making that 228k ($60k USD) in 2020.

Good luck with that pipe dream.
The average pay range for a Freelance Writer (in the U.S.A.) varies modestly (up to $43,500), which suggests there may be fewer opportunities for advancement based on skill level.

You mean the American dream is a thing of the past?

Oh the dreams are still possible if you want to sell your soul to the loss of independence, privacy, freedoms and live in a police state to do it.

I can't even get telephone service or cable t.v. without supplying my social security number and bank account number for direct withdrawl.
Same for health insurance or Medicare or Medicaid.
All you have to do is type in some ones name on your computer and all their PERSONAL information is available to John Q. Public from their net worth, your spouses name, your children's names, divorces with dates, your credit score, your most recent address, your arrest records, driving record, birthdate, known relatives.......well you get my point.

The millennials have all been slowly desensitized to these loss of freedoms and basic rights and they are now considered the "Norm".
The American Millennials can't wait for a cashless society so they can get their chip put under their skin to buy and sell.
(Mark of the Beast)
Independence Criminalized !
That's why retirees are leaving America in droves.
We love our Country but hate our government.
Hope that helped answer your question Ziemowit.

Work / Self-employed American living in Poland? Is it possible? [54]

You nailed in delph.
And at 33% self employment tax would knock you down to $1340 a month take home pay.
You are only allowed to have like $1500 in your savings account to be on Medicaid.
We need more information here from Iwrite4Food as it is apparent that he can not even afford a plane ticket to Poland to start with.

Lets be honest here.

I'm on Medicaid right now...completely free healthcare here in the U.S.

>>>but I'm getting older and want access to better and cheaper healthcare than I can afford in the U.S.)
So what is your handi cap that qualifies you for Medicaid being you are middle aged and collecting Medicaid ?
You say your Medicaid covers 100% of your health care now but want access to cheaper healthcare than you can afford in the U.S. ?????
What is cheaper than free ?
By any chance is Trump booting you off Medicaid or have you milked it for as long as you can and no longer qualify ?

As my screen name suggests, I am a freelance writer.

If Iwrite4Food is on Medicaid it would qualify him for Food Stamps (free food) too ????
Say you are a free lance writer is like me saying that I am a free lance consultant.
Very very vague that confirms/means absolutely nothing.
You say that, "What I make here will afford me a very nice lifestyle in Krakow but enough to have a nice flat and save $$$ at the end of the month for marriage and retirement."

If that was true you would not be able to qualify for Medicaid.
In my humble opinion you are dreaming a pipedream that is beyond your financial capabilities and current assets.
Like Joker said, "If you cant make a decent living in the USA don't expect it to happen in Poland."

Life / Typical Polish house and family [46]

when last in Poland,

Wasn't that forty years ago if I remember correctly in what you said about spending a couple of days there ?

My babcia had those plastic covers on her couch

LMAO - so did my grandma.
So it was a Polish thing then....... lol.

Life / Typical Polish house and family [46]

That's a fact Joker and not funny at all.
My Polish grandmother seldom ever let anyone in her living room.
When we were allowed we were required to take our shoes off and then ask if we had clean socks on AFTER your trousers had been examined to see if they were clean enough to sit in one of her over stuffed chairs.

This included my Polish grandfather who was always treated like a second class citizen.
He was notmally 'required' to sit on his bench in the kitchen.

Life / Opłatek, not presents, epitomises the true Polish Christmas spirit [85]

Also for those low and moronic enough to ridicule the cherished religious beliefs of others.

Could this be because we Christians profess that Jesus is the reason for the season ?
We Christians celebrate the birth of Christ and the Un Believers have no reason to celebrate Christmas so they ridicule our religious beliefs.

too little focus on the Nativity -- the reason for the season.

What I have read about Poland's Christmas's is that it is now more about commercially imposed emphasis on food, booze and presents.
Is midnight mass still the highlight of Christmas celebration in Poland ?

Language / -ski/-ska, -scy/ski, -wicz - Polish surnames help [185]

this is not a Jewish thing.

It is commonly believed that "-sky" is a Jewish surname while "-ski" is not.
The correct spelling of this common surname suffix in Polish is "-ski", and Poles usually kept that spelling after immigration to America.
There are 14 to 15 million jews in the world yet only about 5% of them actually practice their faith.

Some Polish person could become a millionaire over night with my ideas.
One of them would be to invent a mouse flavored cat food.

Work / Language Teachers - do you feel respected in Poland? [86]

Do you teachers sometimes feel that Polish students have little to no respect for your time or your schedule?

The old days of bullying with intimidation of students by a teacher/instructor are over.
Some school teachers get that little bit of authority over children and suddenly become geniuses lording over students by demanding respect.
How is a teacher to feel respected when the student is more mature then the teachers ?
We have seen that scenario right here on the Polish Forums.
It's the student that is paying for a teachers services so mutual respect must be shown.

Love / Sexually liberal ----- Is this a fact or myth for Polish women living in Poland? [61]

I am most offended that you would make such a degrading comment about Polish women.
Because a woman loves to have sex does not make her a slut.
NEVER in my entire life have I EVER heard here in America that Polish women have any such image, EVER !
I can't say the same for the Jewish women though when I went to college.

Travel / Hiking and Camping Trails in Poland [51]

Can anyone help me out here with some information on hiking trails with camping along the way.
Doug once talked about his adventure of camping in Poland but that's about it.
I also heard that Krakow has some nice trails in that area but nothing specific.
Anyone want to share their adventures ?
What are some of the best trails to conquer ?
Are they safe ?
What a better way to explore the beauty of Poland's countryside.
Thanks in advance. J.R.

Work / The Polish Land Forces (ARMY) - I want to enlist [20]

You also might want to consider being a mechanic for tanks as not only would that keep you from being a direct target in a conflict but also give you a free education as a heavy equipment technician with lots of hands on experience making you a prime candidate for a very good paying job as a civilian when you got out of the military.

Just my thought anyways.
