News / Poland's LBGT Seen as Dangerous Foreign Idea. [39]

Considered "perverted" by those at ideological odds with established religion

You just described the majority of Catholic Poland so I have to agree with you.

not human biology

Nonsense as it take a male and a female for biological reproduction.

not to become any more unglued andout of control than she already is

Exactly what the Polish voters will be saying as the title of this thread: Poland's LBGT Seen as Dangerous Foreign Idea.
You can have your personal opinion Lyzko and I am not arguing that.
What I am trying to tell you is that regardless of what the small minority here want, is that the huge majority of Catholic Poles, especially in the rural areas, believe that gay rights undermines the traditional values of Poland which will give PiS an added advantage come election time.

News / Poland's LBGT Seen as Dangerous Foreign Idea. [39]

What is so perverted

Being Poland is a Christian Catholic culture..... men having sex with another man or a woman having sex with another woman is considered perverted.
That already has been established here a 1000 times now.
Since a huge majority of Poles are against LBGT and don't accept it........ it could have a major impact on the election.

Are you trying to trash my thread that obviously you disagree with ?
Every other thread about gays has been closed by your tactics.
There are nicer ways to show your disapproval.
Now please stick to the topic.

News / Poland's LBGT Seen as Dangerous Foreign Idea. [39]

Will the up coming election in Poland focus on the unpopular gay population.
Poland's ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party has made hostility to gays a central focus of its campaign, depicting LGBT rights as a dangerous foreign idea that undermines traditional values.

The pride parade in the city of Bialystok in July was plagued with violence after anti gay protesters chased people through the streets and beat them.

Dirk you were right.
WARSAW (Reuters) - More than 1000 people took part in a pride parade in the central Polish city of Plock protected by a cordon of armed police as LGBT rights became a hot button issue in Catholic Poland ahead of a parliamentary election in October.

Food / British food products in Poland? [334]

I did check out earlier how many varieties of cheese

So did I and our sources disagree.
There are upwards of 1,000 types of cheese in the world, depending on the source you consult.
According to the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board, there are 600 in Wisconsin alone.
And I agree Joker as I have bought all kinds of foreign cheeses and none of them compare to the Wisconsin cheeses.

Life / Owning a house in true countryside of Poland - stories [692]

Yes, thank you for your kind patience explaining that to me as I missed your post about you having a summer cottage in the Polish countryside.

I didn't understand that it was just a seasonal place.

Life / Owning a house in true countryside of Poland - stories [692]

In off-season months she lives with us in our apartment.

What happened to your farm house in the true countryside of Poland ?

I suggest grill it while the meat is tender.

And if it does get to big to grill they are great in a crock pot stew.

History / The reasons of Polish pride? [112]

I'm talking of actual enemy's army entering your teritory

I was talking about the apathy in America.
Guess we are talking about two different apathy's ain't we.

No, it wasn't, even remotedly, a reply to my answer.

Of course it was Z.

I asked why the battle was hopeless and got a reply that Texas won three years later.

Then I guess the battle wasn't hopeless if they won for what they were fighting for was it now.
Because of the battle a treaty was signed to make Texas a State so in essence the battle was won.
Ya trackin' with me here ?
You Europeans just don't get American terminology is the problem here.
It happens constantly on this forum that the Eurps want to split hairs precisely with terminology.
The conclusion to this came when Dougy posted that we must use proper British English terminology here to be acceptable and I said tuff s***, we Americans will use American English terminology so get over yourselves.

Any American would know exactly what I meant which is all that is necessary in my life.
You Europeans must google the Urban slang dictionary for hours after Dirk makes one of his wild posts in American English slang. lol

History / The reasons of Polish pride? [112]

But first, they lost at Alamo.

And three years later (or so) became the State of Texas so they won.
Not that a Polish high school teacher would ever concede to though by proving him wrong.
Let him rattle on with his googlefied facts. lol

History / The reasons of Polish pride? [112]

Yeah, you're right. Most Poles would die for their homeland. And I'm so glad we're not like you.

Now wait......didn't Professor Pawian just establish that every single person died at the American Alamo fighting for their Independence ?

So you think just sitting and waiting for your enemy is smarter?

Careful Lenka as you just hit the nail on the head to what America is presently doing.
Americans are all in their comfort zones with a fully charged cell phone and a full tank of gas in their SUV.
Most Americans could give a s*** about world affairs as long as the economy keeps booming.
There are a lot of them like Rich that are armchair quarterbacks with lots of idea's of how to make things better but that is as far as it ever gets. bla bla bla

There is so much apathy in America that it is almost to the point I wish for a good old fashion war on American soil just to humble these spoiled brat snowflakes that think the world owes them a living.

The ones that have NEVER sacrificed squat for their country are the ones who cry the loudest.
And Lenka, the Polish people in Poland have sacrificed more then humans should have to ever experience making you much more of an authority then some clueless silver spooned American that has never sacrificed squat.

Why was the battle hopeless?

It wasn't Z, Texas won a couple years later if you haven't noticed. lol
Also did you notice in all your googling that the State of Texas is more than twice as big as the country of Poland ?
A Polish teacher teaching American history from Google is most entertaining and comical. lmao
We got a little OFF -Topic here haven't we people ?????

Food / What Polish foods and brands do you miss when you go to other countries? [216]

I'm sure the Krauts stole pickled cabbage from the Poles.

How silly Dougy.
You must not know that pickled cabbage originated in the north of China among the Mongols and was introduced in Europe by migrating tribes.
(we already have had that discussion here if you remember right)
When mixed with Polish kielbasa it becomes a Polish dish.
My Polish grandma said so which trumps an ex-pat Brit residing in Poland.
Before you try to belittle me next time do your homework.

Polish cold cuts were the best in the world, bar none.

Some of them still are here in the U.S.A. if you want to spend the extra money for those that are properly cured, "like in the old days in Poland". lol

delf laughed at me when I said that when I come to Poland I would like to get some of the old recipes in curing Polish sausage properly along with some of the secret spices and tricks used to make it so good.

One of my best friends owns a home butcher shop within a kilometer from my residence and we are always toying around with new recipes come deer season when there is an abundance of meat to experiment with making new kinds of sausages.

scientests have linked that to cancer

Along with bacon and 1001 other foods.

I am a grandpa but it didn't work out that way for me.
I gave and gave and gave helping out when I was younger and now in my old age I get nothing but a palm up hand and a thanks, see ya next Christmas.

Back on topic however.
I miss my sauerkraut and kielbasa as I have that on my regular diet at least once a week.
Cleans me out naturally.

Why aren't judges disqualifing transformers or putting it in the rule book?

If I were a referee in such a wrestling match with one of those things I would disqualify it for 'un sportsman like conduct' and let the school board deal with it.

The girls there imo are better looking and younger but they're more prude and materialistic.

That's because you are getting older and wiser, they know this so they focus on younger guys that they can milk to the hilt.

They know that an old fart like you only wants to hit their snapper one time and be history making you a poor investment for them.

Their husbands probably know but they're likely doing the same thing.

Oh hell yes.
Living here in this resort town with many lakes and ski hills I see it year around when these Tramps come walking into the Casino at mid night.

The old man sends their little Trollop north to some resorts with the Porsche and plastic credit card so they themselves can stay back in Detroit or Chicago making his secretary a permanent fixture to the office by screwing her on the desk while his Floozy is up north out of the way.

We sit there playing black jack laughing to see how desperate the Wench is by the drunken Loser that she ends up leaving with.
I guess you could consider sport banging a Random Sport.

No doubt, college football is much better then Pro.

If I go to a football match I get nearly 90 minutes of action.

Yeah and a score of 1-0.
How exciting is that.

The U.S. Woman's Soccar Team is riding high but for how long.
The Europeans are starting to dump a bunch of cash into their women teams too.
With seven European teams making the quarterfinals that progress is only going to accelerate.
Where does it stop ?

Come on Rich, you know that 30 million is not enough.
Could the pay difference have anything to do with the women's team brought in less revenue than the men's team did ?
So the revenue the women brought in and the percentage the women got was the same percentage as what the men were paid from the revenue they brought in.

Am I correct ?

their is only 11 minutes of actual playing time in that hour.

(You are parroting the debate on this forum from a few years back Milo.)
Yup and every play every player is being hit by another player to knock them on the ground in those 11 minutes while your football players can go a whole game without being hit at all.

Then consider that our football players weigh over 300#'s (140kg each) and can run 40 meters faster then your football players can.
If one of your football players took a single hit from one of these giants it would likely kill them.
Completely different sport Milo.
Many of our football player running backs, defensive backs and ends could play your football but none of your football players could play our football.

So yes, you are correct, what a joke is right.

So what local fruit and veggies can you get where you live?

Like I said, almost the same things you can in Poland.
The sad part is fresh local produce has about a one month window before it is out of season again.

comes from differences in strawberry varieties

Yupper, the wild strawberries very small but are three times sweeter as the bigger domestic ones bred to stay fresh longer for the market that have little or no flavor.

Nothing sweeter then wild strawberry jam on toast or ice cream.

I understand that Kaprys.
Where I live by next month we will have everything that Poland can grow locally in our own back yards too.
That is why I ask where you lived abroad to miss Poland's seasonal fruits and vegetables in the summer.

Shipping does make a difference

It does on short shelf life fruits and vegetables but remember the size of the U.S.A. in land area compared to Poland so some fruits and vegetables have to be shipped.

Some things like Georgia peaches, Michigan black sweet cherries, Florida oranges, Hawaiian pineapples can't be beat in any State, shipped or not.
Does Poland grow mangoes, avocados and banana's that have to be shipped 1500 miles north and taste just like they were just picked fresh ?
The U.S. does so I can't understand where you went abroad to miss Poland's seasonal fruits and vegetables.

What I missed living abroad was these seasonal fruit and veggies that appear in summer

Where abroad ?
All of what you mentioned, strawberries, czeresnie cherries, broad beans, new potatoes, regular cherries, are all in season right now where I live except for plums.

You can still buy any seasonal fresh fruit or vegetable you want in the stores however because they are shipped in from Florida and Mexico.

Thank you.
I will give the bigos a try unless someone has a better suggestion.
I have always wanted to try their zurek wielkanocny so maybe get that for an appetizer to start with.
I am off to the lake to jet ski today to give the Mods a break.
Thank you again Lenka.
