A figure of speech - I consider all the nations of former 1st Rzeczpospolita to be kinda our children, so for example Belarussians or Samogitians too.

Unruly sometimes but Poland has to be a mother and a beacon of civilisation for them. Sort of civilisational centre of gravity towards which all lesser nations should gravitate.

ONR. Before WW2 the original ONR had some very marginal influence but were always plagued with internal conflicts and divisions. It was a fascist movement but oddly enough they had quite a few Jews in their ranks, including the leadership (Mosdorf, Piasecki). They weren't nazi collaborators though - Gestapo hunted them down and many of them (including the two I mentioned) were executed.

Now ONR has a membership of around 1000 and is equally divided as their predecessors were 80 years ago. A strange, chaotic organisation. Zoological curiosity really.

After all, Russia fought Poland, Serbs fought Croats, Bulgaria fought Serbia etc. The beautiful idea of Pan-Slavism didn't stop inter-slavic wars, just like the idea of United Nations didn't stop wars in general.

I object to collocating "idiot" with "Pan-Slavist".

There can hardly be a more beautiful and captivating idea than Pan-Slavism. Nations of different Christian denominations, political alliances and civilisational models, but still acknowledging their common roots and celebrating them - how can one call a pan-Slavist an idiot? A dreamer, maybe... a romantic, perhaps... but never an idiot.

I speak Italian but when I'm in Italy I definitely feel abroad. I can get by in English and UK is a nice enough country but I don't feel at home there. However, when I travel to a Slavic country, it's a doubly-nice experience because I feel almost like in Poland. :)

It's always a heart-breaking affair when Slavs are at each other's throats. Another reason for me the hate the "SMO" as you call it. However, there are foreign elements there, interfering in Slavic affairs, so it's a bit different (and off-topic in this thread).
