wot should i buy next ?

Move the brain yourself first, dude. You should spend less time on the PolishForums, read some market reports and then carry on with your own market analyses.

So, more old people need to die off before things change

You may have the point here, so to speak. Today's RZECZPOSPOLITA sums it up in this way:

The president won without a doubt, but only thanks to the gigantic support among the 50+ electorate. The majority of voters between 18 and 49 years old decided on Trzaskowski. [...] Although Polish seniors should be wished for the best health, demographic changes are relentless.

The United Right has to think what reasonable offer should be presented to the younger half of Polish society. Unleashing the political war may speak to young radicals, but in their age group they are in the minority.

Language / Cultural disparities shown through Polish and English languages [195]

Can anybody help with socio-historical psychology?

This is not socio-psychology, but common usage referring to garments. For me, it would be typical to hear.from my wife: "Chodzisz w zniszczonej kurtce. Musisz kupić sobie nową". It doesn't mean my coat is destroyed in the sense I can no longer wear it, but only means it is used-up. So the Polish verb has a wider meaning than the English verb here. The guy has transfered this 'garment' usage onto a technical device which is not strictly correct, but is acceptable in speech, though ambiguous.

Many people would still say "mam porysowany ekran (w telefonie)" or "mam porysowany telefon".

How many more communist prosecutors do you want appointed to the Supreme Court?

All communists have become Polish patriots after they joined PiS. Accordingly, all communists have become Polish traitors after they joined PO. Can't you see the difference here, you liberal idiot?

Not in the modern world of liquid capital which you prefer (which is why you're in the UK).

Even President Duda's daughter Kinga has followed in Spike's footsteps and moved to London leaving the beautiful country of his beloved father behind her. By the way, in the second round she wanted to vote in Poland together with her parents, but was refused to cast her vote since having voted in the first round in London where she works, she inscribed herself to the list there, but then didn't care to get an appropriate certificate allowing her to vote in another place.

will not be long now before many return to Poland under a strong government led by your president Duda.

You would wish! Some will, but most of them will remain in their new countries of residence for ever. But even if they do, most of them will not vote PiS, I assure you ...

In 3 years Poland will be paying to the EU

If the EU has been paying for the last 15 years, so it is Poland's turn now ...

legislation against radical corrupt elements.

So you think it hasn't been radically corrupt when the EU paid to Poland's budget.

Language / Polish opinions on foreign languages? [54]

It is important for me as I am deciding between Poland, Sweden, Germany, Hungary, Finland for expat life. ;)

The Hungarian language comes out of this world, that is out of the Indoeuropean world. So is Finnish. It's impossible to compare them to Polish, Swedish or German as they are another league (you will be comparing apples to oranges).

German is very specific. Not only compound nouns make it peculiar, but also the fact that a considerable part of its vocabularly came to it from a pre-Indoeuropean language, the so-called Old European substrate. Theoretically, the best choice for you would be Polish, but then you should judge if you really like the language and at least make a modest attempt to learn a little bit of it.

Compound nouns in Polish are rare. You will find many words of German origin in Polish even if they seem to look like vernacular words (for example, 'Gemeinde --> gmina' is one of such words).

victims (who are now adult) clearly asked him to (it was a within-family matter)

Clearly, Duda didn't do that per se. But if I were him, I would be very cautious. You never know if the victim who is a young adult now (the offender raped an under-aged person) have not been persuaded or compelled in any other way by the family to ask the president for the favour.

Raping an under-aged person is an extremely serious offence. Roman Polański who raped a 13 year-old girl is still being chased by the Americans even if the now adult victim under no influence has forgiven him and asked to let him go.

Here is what the author of the Konfederacja economic program, Sławomir Mentzen, said on TVP1, addressing those remarks to PiS:

- The PiS government is a real tragedy for the Polish economy. You have led to a stop and then to a reverse transformation of the Polish economy.

- We stopped moving towards the free market, we started to return to the PRL. You introduced us to the Greek path, leading to enormous social spending and high taxes. You kill entrepreneurship in people, you tell them that they should count on benefits instead of themselves.

Mntzen added that the present government "is killing honest entrepreneurs with taxes and ever new reporting obligations, and tells people that it is taking money from thieves. - I burst into laughter laughing when I hear Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki say that Andrzej Duda is the guarantor of the lack of tax increases. During these 4 years you have raised or introduced over 30 new taxes.

- Keep doing it if people want it. It is your voters who will lose the most in this policy in the long run. But damn it, don't lie that I praise or support these pathological and degenerate ideas - comcluded Sławomir Mentzen, chief economic adviser to Krzysztof Bosak, leader of the Konfederacja party.

I have found that 90% of the people around me have the following issues.

You live in a village of the country (as you said), so no wonder you hear 90% of the people with such issues. It is amazing sometimes how people are lazy and don't want to think themselves, but prefer to repeat what is served to them by politicians.

1. Not true; however some do, but most don't.
2. You should replace 'non slavic' with 'non-white'. The phenomenon is common to all post-communist countries of Europe, the former DDR included.
3. They mistake LGBT education at school with general sex education at school. I think PiS is against contraception and they even prefer teenage pregnancy over contraception, that's why they use LGBT for stopping people from becoming less dependent on Church teaching on sex (at the same time doing nothing to curb sexual abuse of children and teenagers by priests)

4. This is the most favorite tune of the right-wing politicians which they always play when in trouble. Notice that PiS has nothing against German investments in Poland and people who would work in such new enterprises don't either). Likewise, it is Jews buying up Poland or the LGBT folk conspiring to shatter Polish families.

5. As above plus a plot on an international scale secretly conceived by this Hungarian Jew
6. The issue with Kaczyński is probably they wouldn't vote him for president, but they eagerly vote for his poodle Duda which shows what state of schizofrenia they live in.

7. The issue with Tusk is that he is blamed for everything evil in Poland ("waza zbiła się etruska - wina Tuska!") in the same way as Soros is blamed for all evil on the planet.

Dolno, wake up and start to think as an intelectully independent man! Are you a victim of the politician's propaganda, too?

One of my favorite ones, too. The lyrics are nice, somewhat mysterious. As for the English version, I wish they had worked on their English more ...

News / Unfulfilled promises by PiS [559]

Of course, it does. Whatever you may hold against PiS, Poland enjoys the freedom of speech. I was telling in another thread about that anti-PiS exibition just in front of the Presidential Palace in Warsaw.

Andrzej Duda is president of all Polish people including those who have put up up this anti-PiS exhibition.
