Of course not.
The Russians had no interest in helping The Poles at all.
They even blocked the allied air aid from flying from their territory.
The Poles hoped that they could hold of The Germans and then hold off or do a deal with The Russians from a position, politically, if not militarily, of strength.It was a long shot, it failed, but in such desperate times, it was better than surrender.

I asked you before, but you ignored me, what would you have done?
Fought like a lion?
Begged like a chicken?
Or ran away like a rat?
Only three possible answers, anything else is obfuscation.

It actually protected Germany, ironically, because it gave The Allies more time to grab a larger part of Germany before The Russians could get there.

Otherwise there might never have been a West Germany.
And The Warsaw Pact might have bordered France.......and The Berlin Wall would instead have been the new Maginot Line......

Croats moved to the area in the 8th Century and have been there ever since.
Serbs only took a part of Dalmatia after WW1.
Dalmatia is now back with it's rightful owners, The Croats.

I love cheese.Mainly French, but The Brits make some superb cheeses too, Stilton is a king of cheeses.

You can't use hindsight to justify your logic.
They had three simple choices.

Sorry, but I don't buy any of your cynicism here.
I'm with Dolno and Pawian.
They didn't know what was happening, all they knew they could do was fight.
Rich, it's easy to judge with hindsight, but I reckon if you were there then, with what little you knew, you would have fought like a lion rather than die as a coward.

They were all heroes and deserve to be celebrated as such.

I wasn't here a few years back.


I would argue that American Football is not even a sport, just a chance to get a couple of beers in and stuff your face.

If I go to a football match I get nearly 90 minutes of action.
Paying for 11 minutes of action in American Football seems like a raw deal to me..... and I don't care how big and fat they are....

they wouldn't last a minute playing rugby......The English, Welsh, Irish, Aussies and Kiwi's would flatten them LOL!!!!!
