News / Will PiS be happy if AfD wins elections in Germany? [1301]

That's what I mean....but calling themselves German DEMOCRATIC Republic!

One can call things like they want....democratic = anti-democratic.....or critic = hate and incitement....doesn't has to mean sh*it!

So...when the political rival calls the adversary anti-democratic is worthless!

And don't liking their opinions can never be a reason for a ban....then our democracy becomes a joke!

the greatest enemies of democracy are those who elect undemocratic parties,

....and who decides which is an undemocratic party?

The gov? They decide now which opposition is allowed?

Do you know that the SED called the GDR-opposition also Nazis? Influenced by the bad and mean West?
They named the Wall "anti fascist protection wall"....rescuing the good DDRler like me from western fascism...

@Alien, you can frame EVERYTHING to your liking...doesn't has to mean sh*it!

...and its not only me....a survey from 12/24:

How Germans tick: 78 percent believe that not everyone expresses their opinion for fear of consequences

New INSA survey: Only 60 percent believe freedom of expression is guaranteed in Germany. Skepticism that this right is truly guaranteed is particularly high among young people.

90 percent of respondents believe that the right to freedom of expression is one of the components of a free society, but only 60 percent think that the right to freedom of expression is guaranteed in Germany.

theeuropean.de/gesellschaft-kultur/insa-78-prozet-glauben-aus-angst-vor-konsequenzen-aeussere-nicht-jeder-seine-meinung-frei

And now the attempt to jail critics and ban the biggest opposition party?

WTF happened? How did we let it come so far in Germany?

After the Mauerfall '89 we thought we had won, we were free for good.....

The right to shoot my mouth off

That is enough for most Germans....if it would be still full in existence!

The actual gov (Scholz/Faeser) has been voted down and out during the last elections not at least for their shenanigans concerning their try to hack down at exactly that Freedom of Opinion...

Now, on her last leg out, her last days of being in job, this Faeser tries to shoot it down for good....that is so obvious! Shame, shame, shame on you, Faeser!

In response to an inquiry from the Berliner Zeitung, media lawyer Joachim Steinhöfel stated:

"The Federal Republic of Germany is a constitutional state in which political rights are also enshrined in the constitution. These fundamental rights are endangered by legislation (the Network DG, the DSA), criminal law (Section 188 of the Criminal Code), and unconstitutional NGO funding. This is also demonstrated by Germany's decline in the press freedom rankings. Due to its consequences, the classification of the AfD as confirmed right-wing extremist almost seems like a de facto ban on the opposition. The real threat to our democracy comes from within. Ms. Faeser gives it a face."

Satire or crime? Following the verdict against editor-in-chief David Bendels for a doctored photo of Faeser, the Bamberg public prosecutor's office wants to up the ante. Seven months' suspended prison sentence is not sufficient.....

welt.de/politik/deutschland/article256050028/Deutschland-Kurier-Chef-Nach-Urteil-wegen-Faeser-Meme-Staatsanwaltschaft-fordert-noch-hoehere-Strafe.html

...Following the controversial verdict against AfD-affiliated journalist David Bendels, the Bamberg public prosecutor's office is demanding a harsher sentence. This has been reported concurrently by several media outlets. The responsible public prosecutor, Alexander Baum, filed an appeal against the verdict on April 8, according to a document obtained by Junge Freiheit, among others. The letter considers the sentence imposed so far to be inadequate: "The sentence does not do justice to the unlawfulness of the crime and the personality of the defendant," it states. No further details are provided....

What a horrible crime, a meme about a politician!!!

Yes, Tacitus....our democracy is under threat! As an ex-DDRler, I feel the goosebumps of history....

Inciting others however... .

Where do you draw the line?

I hate Islam (is okay)

Talking about how much I hate Islam (still okay?)

Meeting others in fora etc. and sharing our hate of Islam? (still okay?)

Sympathizing with politicians who share my opinions (still okay?)

Politician/party which share my opinion (VERBOT!!!!!)

...or what?

spread lies and hatred can result in murderous consequences.

Thing is that is also such a blah-wishy-washy paragraph, free for the taking for every political uses!

and in the right to personal honour.

Leftists love to call Rightists, or anybody not being left, as Nazis! You know that don't you....

What about the personal honour of the insulted?
What about the hate against people preferring a non-leftist state? ("Demos gegen Rechts" anybody)
What about always the continous harking back to the Third Reich? As the memory of another failed murderous dictatorship, the GDR, is so much fresher yet? (Alot of us survivors are still kicking) Because it was a socialist/communist/leftist failure???

No, Tacitus....this stinks so much....and it won't help the Left in the end, it never did!

incitement to hatred

Blah! You can't ban feelings!

People don't hate Islamists because some Höcke tells them to....

There shall be no censorship.

That's the only thing what counts! Or else it's back to the DDR! And that won't have a Happy Ende, mark my words...

Censorship and bans make shut people their mouth's, surely....but "Gedanken sind frei", as Honecker and Co had to learn later!

it looks like they gathered a lot of damaging material.

Sure....they could do that by reading my posts....

There is a thing called freedom of opinion....to dislike Islam falls under it or half of the Germans should be observed by now!

PS: The Left is known to scream at Demos "From the River to the Sea"....I wonder why Anti-Semitism isn't handled the same like Islamophobia! Oh crap...

Remember Faeser is the one who send the police after someone who dared to make a funny pic about her on X....the police and the whole justice system...a stupid cow who thinks insulting politicians is now a thing for the Verfassungsschutz!

Ooopsie....I just called her "stupid cow".....do I have to fear SG9 come knocking on my door now???

It will be interesting to see if it is banned.

That's why I prefer X unde Elon Musk....seriously!

Next, when I criticize Islam in Germany, I can be deported into a Gulag.....DDR 2.0, here it comes!

The legal argument needs to be very convincing in order to succeed.

Did you read the published summary? It's not about a secret conspiracy to overtake the gov and build a dictatorship, it's more or less about the feeling of the people about Islam...can you believe it!

The poisoned farewell "gift" by Faeser....I very much doubt that this is a reason do forbid a party! She was and still is a stupid cow!

I like that idea very much! :)

Thing is Islam and Christianity are today on totally different development-levels!

Islam is where Christianity was about 1000 years ago...including massmurder-conversions and Kreuzzüge and all.

If we don't want to suffer similiarily we have to keep them out....or revert back to these old brutal roots, to defend our culture!

What would you prefer?

History / Is there any part of Polish history that's at least a bit glorious? [239]

Hmm.....seems to be so...

Read that report:

rabobank.com/knowledge/q011460463-eu-mercosur-agreement-implications-for-food-and-agribusiness

...
For the EU, the food and agribusiness sectors that could benefit include olive oil, cheese, and energy drinks. In general, there will be more opportunities to leverage the regional, specialty character of food products and strong European brands.

For Mercosur, the proposed agreement contains new access to the EU market via quotas for beef, poultry, pork, and ethanol. It also contains phased reduction or elimination of tariffs for a range of fruits, orange juice, and soluble coffee, and partial or total tariff elimination within preexisting quotas (for example, for beef and sugar)....

Again, no mention of grains!

But as I said....people are protesting and nothing is already done and subscribed to:

....There are still a number of steps to be taken before the agreement is ratified. This process could take some time to complete and may encounter resistance from some EU member states that take issue with the agreement's increased access to the EU market for certain agricultural commodities, such as beef and poultry.

PS: I read up on that EU - Mercosur deal....

ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/api/files/attachment/880027/Factsheet%20EU-Mercosur%20Trade%20Agreement%20-%20Agriculture.pdf

It seems the farmer got their word already in:

.....Defending the interests of European farmers

The EU will grant very limited access to its market to imports of agri-food products. For sensitive products like beef, poultry or sugar, in particular, access to the EU market will be permanently limited through gradually implemented quotas. Moreover, a bilateral safeguard clause can be applied in case increased imports from Mercosur cause - or even only threaten to cause - serious injury to the relevant EU sectors. For the first time, this safeguard clause also covers imports under tariff rate quotas.....

History / Is there any part of Polish history that's at least a bit glorious? [239]

- how is that not German-centric?

I don't know about any "Draghi-Report", but there is the thing again....these things are discussed, negotiated and agreed upon for ALL of the EU....not "read: mainly German"!!!

What is your actual problem with that???

Is your point that Germany produces still to much goods, or what exactly?

If such a treaty is so bad for polish agriculture then there should be lotsa Poles in Brussels fighting against such a treaty, and at least getting their demands in....meaning that there will be a solution found working also for polish agriculture. Otherwise such a treaty won't come even into existence!

THAT is actually one of the big points of the EU....without Brussels Germany could do such treaties left and right WITHOUT having to spend one thought about what that would mean for our neighbours! THAT would be german-centric!!!

In such a Union that is impossible...Poland will always have a voice and participation and can even stop such things. Without it....no chance!

What do you think is better for Poland?

I guess should an AfD gov come to work in Berlin and in Brussels some of you will think back nostalgically to the "good old days" right now...

Did you read this, Germans?

....they, The Greens, overdid it! The actual polls show a "climate fatigue", Germans are still interested generally but no longer listen to the climate-doom-prophets so much, they stopped caring in a big way!

You don't win elections with this topic anymore....

Novi's list would be a good start, I guess....

(Okay....#7 will have to be discussed in the Bundestag!:)

Imagine a Germany which probably will be happily bow to Putin and/or Trump, revive the old good standing and profit from it mightily....to the detriment others!
No longer regular payments into the EU-pockets to be shared by the fellow EU-members....there are so many possibilities...the mass immigration will be a big point. Till now our neighbours are okay with waving them through to Germany, that will probably stop quickly and you will have to keep them...EU-laws are not automatically adhered to, no matter what the members agreed upon!

9. Fvck the world. Germany first.

As short and concise as always! :)

And that's the core of my question...how will our neighbours handle a "Germany first" gov in Berlin? If they keep complaining about the current ones...which is everything but since 1945!

History / Is there any part of Polish history that's at least a bit glorious? [239]

it is of course easier to blame Germany for it.

I agree....blaming Germany for every wart and all was and is always good and practical rhetoric for every nationalist, conservative gov in Europe. Not totally without reason, Berlin was ruled rather leftist/green since the Merkel years...lotsa crap got made into law!

I wonder how they will react if Germany truly gets their own nationalist, conservative (real conservative that is, not the fake conservative which has no problem working together with the Left greatly) gov one day with the AfD....

Will they understand each other und work better together because of that or rather not? Back to butting heads like in the last century?

Maybe thats it?

AfD is not like Dubai Chocolate, nobody really know how they "taste"! And the "Brandmauer" will keep it that way, and the AfD can go on promising heaven and says secretly DANKE!

Religion is generally losing appeal in modern societies

...hmm....that might play a part....but I'm not sure that is all of it.....lotsa people still want to believe in something eternal...greater values than their own small, short lives....

The "modern" churches of our "modern" societies don't fulfill that need anymore...following rather the "modern Zeitgeist".

Not this one, I think....the leftist german media just cried yesterday, as the news came in!

And whenever usual conservatives get hailed by the left (mostly for being so "progressive" and "modern") one true conservative needs to get suspicious....

Remember CDU-Merkel? She is still hailed and missed by SPD/Greens/Linke....after all she "modernized" the CDU so greatly....*eye roll*

And he is not already THAT old......

Po polsku / Papież a sprawa polska [195]

What options! :

A Putin-Fan:

Congolese monk Fridolin Ambongo Besungu (65) is internationally considered a Putin sympathizer. Last year, the Attorney General of the Kinshasa Court of Cassation ordered the initiation of a judicial investigation against the cleric. He is accused of making inflammatory statements that are said to constitute "incitement of the population to revolt and attacks on human life." He is considered a leading candidate.

A Trump-Fan:

Cardinal Gerhard-Ludwig Müller (77).He is politically considered part of Donald Trump's camp. The former Munich professor rose from Bishop of Regensburg to head of the Papal Authority for the Doctrine of the Faith. Francis did not renew his position. Since then, he has been considered a critic of Francis. The friend of Gloria von Thurn und Taxis (65) has an outside chance.

A brave man:

The preferred candidate of many European cardinals is the Patriarch of Jerusalem, the Italian Pierbattista Pizzaballa (59). As pope, he could greatly promote peace in the Holy Land. No other cardinal is equally accepted by Jews and Muslims.
After Pope Francis demanded the release of the hostages kidnapped by Hamas in the terrorist attack (October 7, 2023), Pizzaballa offered himself as a bargaining chip in exchange for the kidnapped Jewish children. He is the dignitary of the hearts of the faithful! The cardinal is highly valued by bishops and believers. Today is his birthday.

A favorite:

The perennial favorite is Cardinal Pietro Parolin (70). The Secretary of State is actually among the top favorites in every speculation. Parolin has served Francis since 2013. So far, he has played the role of a church official. Whether he could become a politician or even a charismatic figure remains unclear.

But there's an old saying in the Vatican: Whoever enters the conclave (election process) as a pope (meaning the top favorite) will emerge as a cardinal!

Spreading lies and sin rather than Christian values, is making Islam look like a good guy.

Thing is thats exactly that what christian churches actually do in Europe....they praise and support Islam like no other!

For them there are never enough islamist immigrants, and its "gods will" to be nice to all of them and just turn the other cheek....its what Jesus would do, right?

Speaking from german perspective of course....but what King Charles did let out just recently doesn't look better for GB either!
