History / History of Poland in 10 minutes. Really worth seeing! [134]

I just want what is best for Poland and its people, and make sure that what is polish, is kept polish, I love my country. :)

Just curious, who did you vote for in the last European elections?

Then Germany would again get a poor and unstable neighbour....we so don't want that! :(

No we don't, it was a bit sarcastic..

You also have a federal level in the States which shows variations. You can witness widely disparate laws in different parts of the country and capital punishment practice is evidence of this. Such things matter to those that move around through different jurisdictions.

The problem is when the federal government clings on to something and begins enforcing laws on a local level. That's why you have things like a DEA, "Illegal Immigrants" on a Federal level, federal business regulations.

Those are local issues, no need for multiple levels of wasteful government to implement their unified will on the levels that are closer to the citizens. The further that the legislation process moves away from the citizens, the more wasteful and disconnected it becomes. No need for an EU law making body. Stick to the concepts of free trade, free movement, contract enforcement. No need to legislate how to milk cows.

The result of a membership in the union, is a deterioration of the national sovereignty. A common factor in the union.

No one sees much of a difference between being governed by an inept national government, or an inept supernational government. Quite a few people are seeing the wealth transfer from West to East that is happening. I'm with you though, Poland should leave the EU and return all the money that the government and its people were granted.

Life / POLISH MYTHS - let's debunk or prove them! [140]

Polish drivers are among the worst drivers in Europe.

Nothing contentious about that. 99% of Poles will probably agree with you right off the bat, about half of those with a look of pride.

Language / IS "MURZYN" word RACIST? [686]

OK fair enough. How about 'ten biały' or something? That would be a statement of fact in this circumstance..

would you describe a friend or family member to someone as murzyn?

Why would you need to say 'look at that white slavic-looking Polish person over there' when you live in Poland?

hanging out with the gypos?

Life / Cannabis / Weed in Poland... How much does marijuana cost per gram and how easy is to get it? [355]

Wrong; Science News
and inhaling burned materials is bad for the lungs

That's why vaporizers sell so well.

Try to ban alcohol and cigarets and you will see ppl on the streets demonstrating ;)

You'd see a massive increase in crime as well, for obvious reasons.

I favor the approach adopted by some countries in Asia: executing people who posses and sell drugs. This approach would eliminate the drug problem in Poland.

Actually, I think that you've just come up with the solution to poverty, world hunger, and out of control breeding as well.

I mean that alcohol and cigarates started to be widely accepted cultural phenomenom that's why they cannot be prohibited in direct way. Instead of that officials try to make a ban for smoking in almost every place besides your own house and you can buy alcohol (I don't mean here Poland) in limited places, soemtimes in limited amount (like in Sweden).

Better idea, fix the health care system, and make people responsible for their own decisions. This is why socialist health care ultimately must restrict personal freedom.

Chocolate won't make you schizophrenic... I think ;P ;)

Will give you diabetes... Keep in mind, everyone has a mental illness if you read what's on the label...

Life / Cannabis / Weed in Poland... How much does marijuana cost per gram and how easy is to get it? [355]

Well you'd have to sift all the seeds out of it and remove all the stalks.

Seeds? Should only have ladies to begin with :) Traditionally buds are just sifted smaller and smaller until you end up with a nice little pile of beautiful trichomes.

Bubble hash is made by throwing all your leftovers after your harvest into a bucket of water and filtering down. Nothing wrong with that either :)

Any better ideas on what to do with your trimmings?

I was being sarcastic if you didn't notice :)

Not my quote... Mine are usually a bit more spiteful :)

I hope it comes sooner rather than later, because I don't want to be 50 years old and having to buy my weed off some ******* criminal and run the risk of being arrested for smoking a substance which has absolutely no proof whatsoever of being harmful.

Ofcourse it's harmful (when smoked), but that's not the point. Personal risk management should be up to the individual. Same with cigarettes, they are harmful, some of us choose to accept the risk. Fair enough. I'd like to see some unbiased research for once.. If it's out in the open, we can mitigate the negative effects of smoking it with things like vaporizers and ingestion (mmm, cannabutter). More info = smarter and healthier populace.

Au contraire, I think this is a very valuable contemporary document dealing with all the ins an outs of Polish history and should be cherished :)

Not my quote. But you can quote me on this, it's nationalistic drivel.

Would you please stop generalizing? Tell me when I ever reacted that way to you?

I think that you've already been slotted in to "American"

Travel / Why does everyone seem to hate LOT Polish Airlines? [380]

18 hours from leaving my mothers house to flopping down on my couch, not too shabby really considering the start and end point.

LOT doesn't fly to DFW, even if they did, I need that first connection to keep from having to drive for 4 hours.

Wroclaw isn't that bad. Isn't that good, but isn't that bad...

village?

I come from a little town with feeder service into DFW.

I need to get from said little town to Wroclaw in the shortest amount of time possible. Doorstep to doorstep from sh*thole little town in the US to sh*thole medium sized city in Poland is about 18 hours.

a $1000? most of the time it's 400-800 bucks.. and it's one straight flight from chicago/nyc to warsaw which even if a bit more expensive is well worth not having to worry about potential hassles.. no?

Unless you need to get somewhere else in Poland :)

AA gets me from my village to Frankfurt (via DFW), LOT/LH get me from FRA to Wroclaw...all under $1000. No hassle, pretty much door to door service.

I usually fly American from the US to FRA, and then hop over with LH, LOT, or AirConvex. American is pretty cheap and they're fairly generous with the upgrades... Nice 772s too :)
