Do you know James Grieve apples? Specially cultivated for growing in Scotland. When I was a kid we had a couple of dozen of them (not in Scotland but on a windswept hill in Yorkshire so they were a good choice).

It was involved in Iraq

It wasn't. Some NATO members however were. NATO as an organization had no role in the decision to undertake the campaign or to conduct it. The only involvement was several years later training the Iraqi Army.

However this thread is t about your weak gun laws; it's about the conflict between Israel and Iran and whether Poland will be involved. Since most other European countries aren't involved, I doubt Poland has any plans to be.

Those are mostly people to young to own a gun legally

Yet somehow they get them and despite an appallingly high level of gun proliferation. The shootings keep on happening.

Russian wasn't dealt with by the civilian authorities nor was the terrorist attack in Israel now was it.

Poland is neither r*SSia nor Israel. Nor have there been any terrorist attacks here.

If those people were all packing they may have least stood a chance

Why? You have mass gun ownership there and you lose more people to mass shootings than anywhere else.

You keep your culture and Europe will keep our cultures.

I'm sure the army in Poland know what they're doing with such matters.

Nobody would be stupid enough to let civilians have any of that at home in a country where vodka is the national drink.

There are no currently operational 'U.K. bases' in either country. Only a very small involvement in Kurdistan training their army and not a 'base' as such.

Will Poland get involved then ?

The answer to that is either yes or no, depending on whether or not there is a request made to Poland and whether or not the Polish government agree.

Poland got involved in Iraq

Not as part of NATO.

Two NATO members, the U.K. and another one were involved in dealing with last night's drone strikes however they were both doing so as individual countries, not as part of the NATO alliance.

Should Poland become involved at some stage that would also be outside NATO unless NATO changes its current charter. They do have "out of area" operations however those do not involve Israel or Iran.

The same.

Nobody here is advocating for that except several American posters who seem to think that Poland should change its rules.

The system across the Atlantic clearly causes an immense amount of human tragedy however I don't see it changing any time soon due to constitutional law.

Whether your culture of guns works for you or doesn't, there's no call here in Europe to change our status quo. We are happy with it and don't need to change to anybody else's system.

Which suggests that Poland is getting it right and they are not.

Hard to know why they want to export their situation with guns to other places that do not want it.

It's 2 am. Two drugged-up scumbags are trying to break the front door.

In 30 years in Poland I have never come across such a thing.
