Polish forums is not a representative of Poles, and I don't think the majority would think exactly like you. Neither in Germany nor in Poland.

Well Poland voted in their majority for the EU, didn't they? Why do you think they did so?
When the majority wants out of the EU why do you think Tusk was voted into government???

There is no real anti-EU movement in Poland successfull right now, isn't there..

I think most Poles know full well what they have and where their future lies...hence their lacking enthusiasm for any "slavic"-thingie! ;)

Well...instead of trying to develop the wheel again take that what is already there and working and go from there.

Take Poland for example...is it fair to profit massively from the EU-feeding through? To be able to travel freely across Europe, working?
Do you think it's fair for the PIIGS being able to hold on the EU to get help in the billions?

Being enemies with people for petty reasons is not my intention, with Slavic Union or anything similar I would expect a club of progressive people ... who can be members in another club with Germans and Turks aswell.

You can do that much more easily inside the EU...the framework is already there with more slavic countries queuing up to become members.
It's only natural when neighbours with shared interests work together...THAT is the future.

But a "slavic union" build on ethnic heritage is not only racist but won't have a mouse snots chance in hell...as most Slavs are not even interested.

You will find only supporters with "Slavija"-nutters like Crowie...who really don't have progressivity, friendship or peace in mind (as you very well know).

What Iran have done to be treated like a scapegoat? It is to advantage of Europe to be dealing with Iran.

Well...I for one don't want to deal with religious nutters with nukes.

It occurred to me that Polish doesn't retain the V like many other languages, and perhaps that is the Germanization of the name???

"V" is not German either...the "W" is native here too.
"V" is nearly always the Anglicised version of the old central European "W". Being
adapted to the Anglo speaking USA.

So Viludski has been most probably a Wiludski back home in the old world! ;)

it is just that BB thinks that Russia is the only leader in the region and the rest of the Slavs need it so much as a leader to properly represent themselves in front of good, old Europe. I disagree with that.

I disagree with that too and that wasn't what I've said.

But for me and many others Russia is the biggest country with the most natural wealth, which makes at an automatical top dog.

Surely that doesn't makes it an automatical leader, especially if you know their history.

Buuut....there are also countries in the neighbourhood who have nothing against Russian leadership, having still strong ties.

My point was that there is no real counterpoint to see inside the slavic world to Russia. It's mostly either pro-russian countries or anti-russian countries but it's more or less all about Russia in the end.

It is the big looming shadow nobody can escape.

So..to use Kissingers famous words..."When I want to call the slavic world, which number should I select?"

You see, BB, who better than you might understand the exclusion of Russia from the Slavic Union.

It's not the same Nate...in Germany's case it was the fight between two top dogs about who is going to lead this new unified Germany, Prussia or Austria.

Who else will lead the slavic union if not Moscow? And will all the others agree? What would be the most logical choice which would get the most votes? Will the Ukrainians agree with Warsaw? Will the Poles agree with Kiev?

I don't believe really in a "we all will lead" scenario...there will always be stronger and weaker ones.
