Na ja...not as strong, I think. More like a break....before the new law gets back to the Verfassungsschutz for more "proofing"! If there is no fault found then the Prez has to give his signature...so...it's not a total veto!

It is fairly similiar....for example in Germany a new law needs the signature by the Bundespräsident, if he doesn't give it the new law can't come into existence....kinda a veto!

To bad they can't look so far to see them. With rightists gaining ground/even winning elections in one EU-country after the other such "grouping" and "networking" might have the potential to change the EU, to make it more fit for nationalist ideals and wishes.
Tribeless people in a world of tribes...I don't imagine them with big chances or voices at all!
I guess the downsides outweigh any upsides of a potential coalition.

So it doesn't look to bad economically, but the main thing with many voters, the immigration problem, hasn't been solved at all....
But there really seems to be a point with having regained more freedom about which laws to follow and which programs to be part of (and to pay for).
As I read it some of the EU laws were even re-instated and EU-progams re-joined but after free picking and chosing....
Maybe the EU truly has and is been to unyielding with some national differences and wishes. Maybe because we really should go back to a true trading bloc + some possibilities for members to join or leave out if wished, not being so invasive into every members inner workings with these thousands of little laws and demands, punishing if disagreed....I dunno!

Exactly! Leftists can demand revolution and openly call for radicalism to change the society....it's all okay....
Maybe they really should start the legal proceedings for a ban and the real Verfassungsgericht will show them all how ridiculous that is.
If the gov truly has nothing else but strong opinions about muslims that is no way that the AfD will be banned for this alone...
But hey....in other news....we now at least have a new Chancellor....if this new gov holds longer than a year needs to be seen though!

Failure! CDU leader Friedrich Merz failed to secure the required majority in the Bundestag in the first round of voting - and will no longer be chancellor today.
316 YES votes were required. But the result was different: 310 MPs voted YES, 307 NO, there were three abstentions, and one invalid vote.
Merz was six votes short of a majority.A historic defeat!
