For me as an ex-GDRian it sounds all the same....maybe one of the reasons the AfD is so succesfull in the East, the "warnings" sounding so similiar to those that came from Honecker and his SED....who knows!


So? I had a time discovering my family history too....my Opa lost two toes in WWII...his brother was KIA...I even asked the "Kriegsgräberfürsorge" if they had found a trace of his in the mean time...does that mean I'm a Neo-Nazi?

Do you hear the Brits or the Russians discussing their many, many war crimes during WWII? No? All Nazis now?

Thing is...THAT IST NOT WORKING!

A socialist society always degenerates into a third world economy (no investors, no public sector at all anymore) very soon....where only the tiny party elite has the money to eat in one of the few restaurants...and the 95% of the common people has to stand in line for the daily bread and milk (if there is any).

There has never been an economically successful socialist ruling...WHY DO YOU NEVER LEARN???

Of course there is the example of Denmark cited quite often...a leftist government doing what the rightist party promised, and for them it worked, the Right going down the drain...but....who has won in the end?
After all most people don't care how the party is called as long as they do at last what the majority wants/needs them to do...

I doubt it....the talk is always of the Nazis....of a feared repeat of '33....of some reborn "Weimar"....NEVER of '89 and what led to it! So, no...they seemingly don't want to learn, so they will have to repeat!

That's the thing....that "warning"!

How often can you warn till that warning loses its effect? Especially if it comes from growingly unpopular sources....

An example....the GDR people had been warned for decades of the dangers of capitalism and the West generally....from Kindergarten onwards...dissenting parties and media being forbidden, even a wall was build...all to safe guard the good people and rescue them from the bad, of course....

Only some "warning" alone means nothing in the long term...not if the warners don't deliver a real positive alternative!

I keep wondering about the discrepancy between some "jury" vote and the "public vote"....

It keeps happening in Germany at nearly every preselection contest too....the stuff we send to the Eurovision is NOT and NEVER the one we actually should send....as if there is some alien opressor forcing us....the taste differs so widely, its getting creepy!

Just read about the public vote (didn't watch it).....full 12 points from Germany....and also from Britain!


So, the public in most of Europe is clearly pro-Israel....contrary to what some govs say and some fanatics wish.....and I take back what I said yesterday and declare the contrary, heh:)

PS: I also read some commentator that most are secretly quite glad about the second place, otherwise the next Eurovision would had to take place IN Israel next year....a security nightmare....and a political one too....

Yeah....I remember Eurovision also very much differently....not the puke-fest it has become...

I disagree, Jon....

We have meanwhile alot of experiences with immigration and integration of different cultures (or their lack of).

Ethnical ghettoes are a fact in every big city (voluntarily that is)....people fall back especially hard onto their heritage in a foreign environment...becoming even hardcore nationalist far way from their nation, where they didn't care at all.

Most people do just NOT change their heritage like a pass! Even home-conflicts with other ethnics are alive and well in a for both foreign environment. To believe otherwise is the big multikulti illusion....

The big red mark IMHO is the number! To have only a few ethnic minorities is the best for all....once above a certain percentage this minority would want (and need) less and less to integrate, rather changing their environment to fit them "better"....and thats just bad for all!
