USA, Canada / Poles and Americans, what do you think, are we friends or enemies? [187]

So now you blame America for delivering the military equipment for the Soviets because they turned around and used it to "occupy" Poland, right?

Well, I don't take that blame. The WW2 was long and cruel. Everyone was fed up with it. Actually Patton even suggested to go east but Roosevelt wouldn't listen to him.

It's time to quit blaming each other. The war is over. Enjoy your freedom and move on guys.

you did diddly squat for us

I know that this is the common opinion by most of the Polish PF members but I may disagree with you guys. Even though we didn't directly help Poland but we shipped lot's of war equipment to the Soviet Union and they "liberated" Poland , so indirectly we did help you.

Here's the link: o5m6.de/Numbers.html
The outcome of the "liberation" by the Soviets, that's another story. It's a known fact that you guys weren't really free and had to suffer under, practically Soviet occupation.

A perfect example of ingnorance , are your replies. To me you appear to be a person with brain damage

And to me you appear like a "backward" Pollack (unlike many intelligent Poles around here), not able to determine anyone's ability to think at all.

Look what you wrote, "This was the decline of association with Poland.. The old people died off. The Polish speaking households disappeared.. Along with the Polish language. This was the begining of the new breed of so called Polish Americans.

By 1960 along with globalization a new breed of Immigrant arrived on our shores.. This was the begining of Americas decline
"

Don't even try to get out of it, you clearly wrote that as long as it was old Polish immigration, with all of their habits, everything was fine in America and now facing non-Polish immigrants, America is in decline. How stupid is that. Do you even realize what you're saying?

It's like our welfare in the states depends on nothing else but on the old Polish immigration.

You're obviously right. Ignorance is present any place you go and has nothing to do with any particular country. I wish they finally realize that but I guess it will never happen. Some people know it, some learn it later and some never will.

This was the decline of association with Poland.. The old people died off. The Polish speaking households disappeared.. Along with the Polish language.

The way you put it, it almost sounds like the reason for our American nowadays problems is your "decline of association with Poland."

most of the people who emigrated to the USA were not educated and/or were religious ;-)

So if someone is religious is automatically an idiot, LOLOLOLOLOLOL
You made my day man :-)

while you believe every word of it, hence no illusion, no problem

That's the point, we don't believe any word of it (or most of it anyway).

America has a lot of idiots, but in turn we also have a lot of brilliant people

Why not just say that anywhere you go it is that way, not only in America.

Ah, those Americans with their naive questions, generalizations and divisions

Naive? We don't have as many illusions as you guys. We don't expect anything from anyone else.
We work hard to achieve what we need and want.

Generalizations? It's not us who call one entire nation stupid and fat (etc.) like many of you guys on PF.

Divisions? Explain yourself.

USA, Canada / Poles and Americans, what do you think, are we friends or enemies? [187]

it's politics

Exactly. I'm glad you said that. From the beginning of my thread I was saying that there's no friendships in politics. We are allies, not friends. Anyone who believes in friendship between countries is fooling himself. There's a huge difference between friendship and being friendly.

I had to pull it into a personal thing just to cause your reaction the way I wanted to see it.
Sorry about that pgtx.
Have a great day.

There are more eastern countries that offered help, for example Georgia but this is not what I was trying to say. I mean, if Poland and other countries feel used by us then why not just break up the relations with us. I do it too anytime I feel like someone is trying to get advantage of me.

America today is the land ofMTV, HIP HOP, DRUGS, DRIVE BY SHOOTINGS, CROOKED POLITICIANS, and FAT PEOPLE,and ILLEGAL ALIENS.

Unfortunitely I have to agree with some of it. Especially with MTV, HIP HOP and drugs and it's a shame that it happened that way. As far as fat people, well, look around everyone else is strongly catching up and it's almost no difference anymore. Crooked politicians are definitely everywhere and illegals most likely too.

he is an American born and breed !

An American, born and raised here and an America hater at the same time? No way Jose. I know many people, never met anyone like that yet and most likely never will. You don't know Americans if you believe it. Yes, we might crack on this or that but we'll never hate our country, that's a fact.

Why post questions thought of by głupiec?

Another Mr smartass ironside here, lol Don't come up with anything smart so starts ridiculing. (rather typical for many Poles on PF).

just look at the political US-PL relationship...

As long as you see it as politics, you'll be much less disappointed.

USA, Canada / Poles and Americans, what do you think, are we friends or enemies? [187]

Of Course Poland and U.S.A. are friendly terms for years.

I agree with you, we are on friendly terms as countries. My question was more about the situation between the people, especially on PF and it doesn't look so friendly here at all.

Just look above, Mr. ironside, has nothing to say but comments "this topic is load of crap".
If he thought for a minute, he would realize that it will be a load of crap as long as he will keep making his childish comments here.

USA, Canada / Poles and Americans, what do you think, are we friends or enemies? [187]

Lets turn this into a relevant thread. ie. Europeans and Americans, friends or enemies?

As you can see, it's relevant whatsoever. The reactions show how the "friendship" works between Americans and at least some Poles here.

I have a strong feeling that some Poles believe that we owe them something.

Then where have you been in 1939 when England and France declared war on Germany?

We were not obligated to help Poland or anyone else. England and France signed agreement with you, we didn't.

No,they died for US

Wrong again. We came to help and we didn't even have to do it.

Yea right.GERMANY DECLARED WAR ON THE US not US on Germany.

Known fact but we still didn't have to come over and help since the distance between Europe and America would allow us to concentrate on a defense war. It would cost us way less money and as far as the Germans, even though their weapons might but their logistics wouldn't work out yet. We have many examples from a much newer history where very powerful countries had logistics problems when the war scene was far away from home.

USA, Canada / Poles and Americans, what do you think, are we friends or enemies? [187]

So let's hypothesize...

to be honest with you, I hate to do it, lol
I just wish we all quit calling it friendship when it comes to international relations and it will be way less disappointments. What I mean is, that if I don't see a country as my "personal" friend I also don't expect that much. Let's see us as allies. It sounds better to me unless we're talking about people. In this case I obviously call it friendship and expect much more.

BTW. "that they could never rely on them for reciprocity, or in a time of need"

To this one I have to say that you guys can definitely expect our help in case of war. I'm absolutely convinced about it.

there many differences between individuals from the same village - so what?>
Its up to individuals !

I agree but in this case it's about this forum and I'd like to narrow it down to this situation.

USA, Canada / Poles and Americans, what do you think, are we friends or enemies? [187]

Well, if we are talking about real friendship, it should be unconditional but with politics, unfortunitely it doesn't work that way. Not that I like it but it's just the way it is. I'd like to mention that "abandoning" friends like you say, is not really our habit. Just look back in time and you'll find many examples for it, just about allover the world. To be quite honest with you, I personally don't like to call it friendship when it comes to international relations between countries because it happens all the time that people see a political friend the same way as they see a person and expect the same things from both types of friendship. It's simply not the same.

USA, Canada / Poles and Americans, what do you think, are we friends or enemies? [187]

Of course the US and Poland are friends even though there have been ups and downs in relations

I already posted that it's obvious that Poland and the US are friends, as for example both being NATO members etc but on this forum it shows that there are many differences between Poles and Americans (at least on PF) that lead to many fights.

Is that question about the nations or we talk individuals here?

Answer above.

I don't think it was done on purpose. Probably some technical issues. I don't know how it is in NYC or Chicago but around here, we don't have any Poles and also no one is even talking about them.

I believe that our people here are very friendly and would treat you nicely, no matter where you come from. OK, maybe there's a tiny problem with Mexicans but other than that I don't see or hear anything negative about Poles.
