I grew up in the US, so a lot of things that should be a given for any Polish citizen are not known by me.

If you would like to help inform me please reply, along with your religious affiliation (I think it's relevant, and the difference or sameness of answers might be meaningful as well).

Good question. What about, Poland of tomorrow?

Listen. The great war is coming. Poland will find its purpose. Poland will tell is it globalistic or Slavic ie Sarmatian.

Would you now be kind to move Poland in direction of Serbia and Hungary?

Me and my generation

Yes, especially you, Alien, by leaving Poland and spending most of your life in Germany.

You see, I forgot that I contributed to the development of two countries. 😉

Poland is what it is today as a result of every event from 966 till now - including me leaving one thousand years later.

966?? Wow! That's even before the Norman Conquest LOL
You meant 1966, of course:-)

Oh, did you have a chance to read my private message I sent you the other day?

Not unless Rich here wants to be the comic.

Unless he's referring to the birth of the Polish nation,
1966 was the beginning of the mass exodus of Poles
to America under Gomulka, many of them Jews.

@Lyzko

So according to you, what makes Poland the country it is today, are only the events that occurred since the coming to power of Gomulka?

No. I was merely responding to what I presumed was a typo on the part of Rich.

@Lyzko

How could it be a typo, if within the same sentence Richard mentions this includes events that happened a thousand years later? He mistyped the entire sentence?

Why is it comical that a Pole might consider events in 966 still relevant to the process of formation of national identity?

You are a Jew, correct? Do you find it so preposterous, if someone argues that the destruction of the Second Temple had a shaping effect on Jewish consciousness?

Do you think it's hilarious, that someone may think it still affects modern Jewish life - that they were expelled from all European countries in the Middle Ages?

We seem to be missing the point here.

Had Rich mentioned the founding of what is today Poland by Leszek and Mieczko round about 966 AD, then there'd have been
room for discussion. However, he didn't make his intentions clear, at any rate not to me.

As far as my being Jewish and the Destruction of the Temple, I fail to see what possible relation this
has to the present discussion. I never mentioned a historical date in any of my posts.

I shouldn't have to explain the meaning of 966 to anyone here.

If you don't know what 966 means to Poles, you are at the wrong forum.

You are becoming as incomprehensible as Lyzko.........you need to explain, because your post makes no sense.
